In a segment on his radio show last week, Conservative Review Editor-in-Chief Mark Levin highlighted the extremist far-left ideology of Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt.
“Bernie Sanders is a radical Marxist who believes in violence,” Levin said.
To prove his point, Levin asked: “Can you think of one country where the radical Marxists have taken over the governments, that isn’t violent?”
He explained that the far Left preaches “humanity and compassion and equality,” but challenged listeners to show one communist country that shows such compassion for everyone in society.
“Show me one communist country that is not in effect a police state,” he added, listing Cuba, Venezuela, China, North Korea, and other states that have adopted far-left ideologies and ended up as dictatorships.
Levin also discussed how America’s capitalist, market foundations — which are continually attacked by liberals — are the reason for American flourishing.
After Media Matters picked up on Levin’s comments, taking issue with his words, the CR editor responded in kind:
