Speaking for a short 20 minutes at the Family Research Council’s Values Voter Summit, new CRTV host Phil Robertson used the opportunity to directly evangelize Hollywood, the Democratic Party, and the mainstream media.
Drawing his Bible, what Robertson calls his “sword,” from his bag, Robertson talked about his life and his work, sharing the Christian gospel with those who are “down and out.” He described his outreach to people in drug rehabilitation and to those in prison and on death row.
“When I hear about the vitriol and the hatred, just remember I love you. I really do. You know why? I’ve identified you as human beings. So, I love you. And God loves you.” Watch his whole speech:
“I’m almost tempted to ask the Democratic Party four little words,” he continued. “Do y’all love Jesus? The reason I’m asking you, Democratic Party, is I’ve never heard you say one way or the other. Do you love him? And I’m waiting on an answer.” Robertson asked the same question of mainstream media outlets CNN, CBS, and MSNBC.
“What’s wrong with Jesus? I’ve investigated him. I’ve carefully inspected the man. I can’t find anything wrong with him,” Robertson said.
Robertson went on, unashamedly proclaiming that evil acts like the rampant sexual abuse in Hollywood and the terrible shooting in Las Vegas are the works of Satan and sin. He shared the gospel message of forgiveness for sin through faith in Jesus Christ. This message is far more important to Robertson than either his money or his fame.
“Can you imagine what you would hear if you gave me an hour?” Phil asked at one point.
Imagine what he’ll do with his own TV show.
