When tragedy strikes you can count on CNN’s media critic/cheerleader Brian Stelter to make it all about him and his network. The morning after the horrific school shooting in Parkland, Florida, Stelter decided to call out three Republican politicians that he and his network claimed were “afraid of” appearing on CNN. Cruz was included in the graphic and shot back fiercely. Stelter was left looking like a fool.
Here’s the sanctimonious tweet by Stelter.

The Hill noted yesterday morning how Cruz almost immediately struck back at Stelter and the network.
Gosh, I seem to recall doing not 1, not 2, but THREE town hall debates w/ @BernieSanders on @CNN Each 90 min long. You can accuse me of many things, but being afraid of CNN is not one of them…. https://t.co/we6HBY0oQ9

More from The HIll:
Cruz has appeared on CNN for town halls with Sanders as the two 2016 presidential candidates have debated tax reform and health care. The town halls occurred in February, October and November 2017.
Stelter and his network were just upset that Cruz didn’t run to them first following the tragic shooting. And here’s the real kicker, yesterday Cruz made time for an interview with CNN that they have not yet aired. The senator is calling the network out on it.
Here's a pic of the @CNN interview — a 15-min exclusive given yesterday — that y'all still haven't aired… (While falsely claiming I'm "afraid" to talk to CNN.) https://t.co/Bo8AzsuGFX pic.twitter.com/sEtt4bTeUT

Here’s a question for Stelter. If a senator records an interview with your network and your network chooses not to air it, did it really happen?
It’s well past time for Stelter to get off his high horse and maybe look in the mirror. It’s hard to claim you aren’t partisan when you pull childish stunts like this.
