After referring to Senator Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., as “Pocahontas” during a veterans’ ceremony honoring Native American code talkers, President Trump was accused by Sen. Warren and several members of the media of using a “racial slur.”
“There he was, at a ceremony to honor Native Americans, men who have really put it all on the line to save American lives, to save lives of people, our allies, during World War II, really amazing people. And President Trump couldn’t even make it through a ceremony to honor these men without throwing in a racial slur, ” Warren told CNN’s Anderson Cooper.
The “Pocahontas is a racial slur” meme is a dumb argument. Pocahontas is a historical figure, not a racial slur. And Sen. Warren deserves to be mocked for faking a Native American heritage to move up in the academic world.
Yet the Left insists on defending Sen. Fauxcohontas and attacking Trump as a racist, even as a living descendent of Pocahontas says she is not offended when President Trump makes fun of Sen. Warren’s faked Indian heritage.
Sky News interviewed Debbie “White Dove” Porreco, who was asked about Trump’s joking nickname for the senator from Massachusetts. Porreco, who modeled for the Pocahontas character in the Disney animated movie, is a resident of Palm Beach, Fla., and a supporter of Donald Trump.
“I know that he uses ‘Pocahontas’ sometimes with Elizabeth Warren,” Porreco said. “He said, ‘Well, does that offend you when I use that?’ And I told him no, it doesn’t offend me.”
“If Pocahontas were alive today, she would be very proud of President Trump,” Porreco added. “Just like Pocahontas was a heroine, Donald Trump is going to be our hero.”
