Before we start delving into the MSM craziness of the day, I’ve got a request. When someone is diagnosed with a life-threatening disease, no matter what you think of their politics, can we all try a little humanity? Yes, I’m as acerbic as they come, but I was horrified at some of the responses to a Facebook post I made announcing the diagnosis of Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., with brain cancer. We should all try a little humanity every now and then.
Rosie’s Trump-killing game … Speaking of decency and humanity, USA Today ran the following story: “Rosie O’Donnell sparks outrage with Trump-killing game.” The paper’s subtitle, seen on social media, was, “Conservatives were not amused.” Conservatives. Does that mean liberals, moderates, and others were amused by a game where the goal is to kill the president of the United States?
What USPS electioneering scandal? … I used to sell political mailers. Because postal employees used to sit on the mailers of people they didn’t support, the service came up with red tags, which are easily seen when walking through facilities and prioritize the delivery of that mail. Now there’s a new scandal for postal employees. A report shows they were allowed to take paid leave to campaign for Hillary Clinton. NewsBusters highlights how the networks ignored the news.
How do we stop the mainstream media from warping the national narrative? We push back together. With the truth. Be the first to receive CRTV’s free weapon against the worst the media has to offer. Introducing WTF MSM!?
Using McCain news to bash Trump? … Look, I don’t want to write this section, but it needs to be said. In a story that was last updated at 7:33 E.T. this morning, CNN gives what amounts to a living obituary of John McCain. The story highlights that Barack Obama wished John McCain would get well. The same story focuses on the fights Donald Trump has had with McCain and implied that Trump only wished McCain a recovery so that his agenda could get passed. It was a subtle bit of bias.
Globe’s Matt Viser does the same … There are good folks at the Boston Globe, the paper of record in my home state. I’ve had good relationships with many of them, including Matt Viser, but this tweet by Viser highlights everything wrong with America. Viser said, “Many are sitting down tonight to write out heartfelt statements about John McCain. Trump quickly grabbed the last Hallmark card on the rack.” Everything doesn’t need to be about political points.
Make the crazy stop … Conspiracy theorist Louise Mensch, who fancies herself a “journalist,” “reported” that Steve Bannon needs to worry about the death penalty in an espionage case against him. That would be fine, sort of, if only other “journalists” didn’t think she was stating the actual facts. Cases in point: the Intercept’s Glenn Greenwald and Donna Brazille.
I can’t fight back alone against the mainstream media. I need your help. There are two ways you can help. First, send your friends – and even your enemies – over to CRTV.com/WTFMSM and have them sign up to get this email. Second, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org with anything questionable you see the media do. Together, we can fight back.
