Outsized response … After President Donald Trump weighed in on NFL players kneeling during the national anthem, the media went into overdrive. Social media devolved into warring tribes over a game that many use to escape politics. On Monday, the White House press corps blamed Trump for not being able to cover other news. What Puerto Rico crisis? … Rather than cover the Puerto Rico crisis in the wake of Hurricane Maria, NewsBusters reports that the broadcast networks focused their coverage on the NFL drama.

Sunday’s church shooting … While the nation and the media were arguing about millionaires at a football game, a Sudanese immigrant shot up a church in Tennessee. Matt Walsh, writing at the Blaze, talks about how this particular mass shooting doesn’t fit the MSM narratives about guns, responsible gun ownership, or race, so the MSM has barely touched it. When a good guy with a gun stops a bad guy with a gun, the national media often don’t report it.
NY Times still loves communism … The latest instance of the New York Times publishing a communist apologetic: The Times opinion team tweeted, “For all its flaws, the Communist revolution taught Chinese women to dream big.” They added that there are “crucial caveats,” oh like maybe the one-child policy and forced abortions?
Weiner headlines … Leave it to the New York tabloids to come up with classic headlines for Anthony Weiner’s 21-month prison sentence. Barstool Sports tweeted out pictures of the covers, which you can see here. I’d say they were mildly NSFW, but if you live in NY you saw them on every street corner.
I can’t fight back alone against the mainstream media. I need your help. There are two ways you can help. First, send your friends – and even your enemies – over to the WTF MSM!? email subscription page and get them sign up. Second, email me at email@example.com with anything questionable you see the media do. Together, we can fight back.
