Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J. (F, 14%) appeared before the Senate Judiciary Committee Wednesday along with other black leaders to testify against the confirmation of Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala. (C, 78%) as attorney general.

After Booker dug the dagger sufficiently deep into his former friend’s back, three men spoke up in defense of Sessions: former assistant U.S. attorney Willie Huntley, former U.S. marshal Jesse Seroyer, and former chief counsel for the Senate Judiciary Committee and ex-Sessions aide William Smith.

But because these men are black, it wasn’t long before Twitter users began with the name-calling, fighting fake racism with real racism:

The despicable witch hunt to smear Sessions claimed three more casualties Wednesday, highlighting the nasty partisan hatred prompted by Sen. Booker’s unconstrained egoism and indifference to the truth.
