If you believe that malicious Russian agents hacked the 2016 US presidential election and changed votes in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and other traditionally blue states to hand the election to Donald Trump, you were just sorely disappointed.

Testifying before the House Intelligence Committee Monday morning, NSA Director Admiral Michael Rogers and FBI Director James Comey stated unequivocally that there was no evidence the Russians manipulated election machines to rig the vote.

Asked by Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) if there was any intelligence to suggest the vote tallies in several states were tampered with, Admiral Rogers stated “No, sir.” He prefaced his comment with an explanation that the National Security Agency would not be the best agency to answer that question, as they focus on foreign, not domestic intelligence.

FBI Director Comey answered “No,” to the same question.

Yet the mainstream media has been deceitfully pushing the “Russia hacked the election” narrative for months. This inaccurate headline leaves the impression that Russia literally manipulated the electoral process itself to rig the election for Donald Trump. A poll released last December showed 52 percent of Democrats believed just that.

It is clear now that the government has zero evidence to suggest that the vote was rigged. That is not to say the Russians were uninvolved in attempting to influence the election. FBI Director James Comey confirmed Monday that the bureau is investigating Russian attempts to interfere in the 2016 presidential election — including any links between members of the Donald Trump campaign for president and the Russians.

I have been authorized by the Department of Justice to confirm that the FBI as part of our counter-intelligence mission, is investigating the Russian government’s efforts to interfere in the 2016 presidential election, and that includes investigating the nature of any links between individuals associated with the Trump campaign and the Russian government and whether there was any coordination between the campaign and the Russia’s efforts.

“Because it is an open, ongoing investigation I cannot say more,” Comey explained.

The truth will be found out as the FBI conducts its investigation. What is clear, however, is that directly blaming Hillary Clinton’s loss on Russian influence and a “hacked election” is to deny reality.
