Dan Bongino BLASTS ‘foie-gras-eating’ Mitch McConnell

Conservative Review contributing editor Dan Bongino appeared on Fox and Friends Thursday morning and called Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell an “upper-crust, bow tie-wearing, foie gras-eating insider swamp creature.”

Bongino said that McConnell and the rest of the D.C. establishment do not understand Donald Trump, whom he described as “a Queens guy.”

Answering a question from Ainsley Earhardt about former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper’s comments that President Trump’s remarks in Arizona were “extremely disturbing” and his questioning of Trump’s fitness for office, Bongino dismissed Clapper and explained that “they just don’t understand Trump.”

“He’s a Queens guy,” Bongino said. “I’m a Queens guy. We were never as rich as the Manhattan guys, never as tough as the Brooklyn and the Bronx guys. They always have this ‘I gotta to be better than them.’ That’s Trump. When you understand he’s a Queens guy, this all makes sense. And Clapper doesn’t get him, these guys just don’t get him — he’s a fighter, he’s a Queens guy.”

Bongino criticized others who say Trump’s behavior signals mental incapacity.

“You had a commentator on another cable network, a female commentator who said he possibly had dementia. I mean, how grotesquely inappropriate to say that? But, again, they think it’s great because it’s good for their ratings.”

Bongino was referring to comments by CNN commentator and Republican strategist Ana Navarro, who said earlier this week that the “only defensible excuse” for President Trump’s behavior was dementia.

Steve Doocey then asked Bongino if what’s going on is a contest between the “Queens guy” and Sen. Mitch McConnell.

“Yeah! You got the Queens guy, and you got this upper-crust, bow tie-wearing, foie gras-eating insider swamp creature in Mitch McConnell. And he doesn’t understand a builder from Queens,” Bongino replied.

“You got a brawler at a golf match, and then you’re wondering what’s going on!” Bongino said.

Brian Kilmeade pushed back on Bongino, asking, “Don’t you believe that sometimes the brawler has got to learn to use the brandy snifter?”

“No, I don’t,” Bongino fired back. “Because I think America thinks different, and that’s why Donald Trump is president. If America agreed with you, Hillary would be in that office right now. It’s time for the brawler, we need the brawler.”
