Democrats aren’t patriots — they’re socialist revolutionaries

“One of the most dangerous trends of our times is that increasing numbers of people have a vested interest in the helplessness of other people.” Thomas Sowell

Yes, Donald Trump had a dreadful week worthy of the title of “dumbest last.” But House Democrats also shouted loud and clear this week that they will vigorously compete for that title until November.

Turns out they have a new motto: “For the people!”

I actually felt sorry for Democrats when I first heard that. Because it’s just pathetic. It’s like trying too hard and not trying at all, all at the same time. My sympathies quickly vanished, though, when I remembered who progressives really are. It’s no mistake that they will be shouting ‘For the people’ instead of ‘We the people,’ for they are not patriots. They are socialist revolutionaries.

Barack Obama. Then Bernie Sanders. Now the likes of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and David Hogg. The road they are traveling has little or nothing to do with the preamble of the Constitution or much of the rest of it, either. Because they think they are better than you, and they mean to rule you, not govern on your behalf.

So when you hear “For the people” in your head, it would be right and true to hear it through the voice of Bane, the villain in “The Dark Knight Rises”: "We take Gotham from the corrupt! The rich! The oppressors of generations who have kept you down with myths of opportunity, and we give it back to you, the people."

And we know what that “giving back” looked like in the end, don’t we? It was a prison, which is where socialism always leads. And it’s why we don’t need to rely on comic-book villains to make our points, because history is unfortunately littered with intelligent fools who never fail to wish such a fate upon the rest of us in order to tickle their tyrannical itch.

Here’s what “For the people” really looks like in the end:

Let the dogs of the empire bark, that's their job; ours is to battle to achieve the true liberation of our people.” —Hugo Chavez

“Suddenly, the whole country is engulfed with happiness and the people endlessly inspired.” —Kim Jong Un

There is not, nor should there be, an irreconcilable contrast between the individual and the collective, between the interests of an individual person and the interests of the collective.” —Joseph Stalin

“They are … human weeds, reckless breeders, spawning … human beings who never should have been born.” —Margaret Sanger

“One of the greatest benefits of the revolution is that even our prostitutes are college graduates.” —Fidel Castro

And last but not least, I give you Che Guevara, whose T-shirt-emblazoned visage has been passed down from Baby Boomers to Generation Xers to Millennials with inspiring messages such as:

“Crazy with fury I will stain my rifle red while slaughtering any enemy that falls in my hands! My nostrils dilate while savoring the acrid odor of gunpowder and blood. With the deaths of my enemies I prepare my being for the sacred fight and join the triumphant proletariat with a bestial howl!” Or …

Blind hate against the enemy creates a forceful impulse that cracks the boundaries of natural human limitations, transforming the soldier in an effective, selective and cold killing machine. A people without hate cannot triumph against the adversary.” Or …

“I am not Christ or a philanthropist, old lady, I am all the contrary of a Christ … I fight for the things I believe in, with all the weapons at my disposal and try to leave the other man dead so that I don’t get nailed to a cross or any other place.”

With so many ghastly cautionary tales like these, it should take our breath away that we are knocking on the door of such a fate once again. It is clearly time for “We the people” to turn the tide and take back what is ours: Freedom.
