Tuesday evening on his nationally syndicated radio show, LevinTV host Mark Levin interviewed national security adviser John Bolton about the Trump administration’s decision to impose further sanctions on the terrorist regime that rules Iran.

Bolton explained that the sanctions will seek to reverse the damage done by the Obama administration’s nuclear deal with Iran, which empowered the regime with billions in cash and access to the global financial system. He added that “the Obama deal … didn’t stop Iran’s effort to get deliverable nuclear weapons. It really empowered the regime, which is the world’s central banker for international terrorism.”

The national security adviser explained that the sanctions are intended to motivate the Iranian regime to “commit to give up their nuclear weapons program, their ballistic missiles, their support for terrorism.” He added that the sanctions are just one component of the Trump administration’s strategy to combat the Iranian regime.

Also discussing Russian influence operations, Bolton touched on the reality that the Russian government — during and after its communist era — has long been using foreign interference tactics to impact American society. Listen:
