Levin: 2 things Trump must do to investigate federal interference in the 2016 election

On Thursday, LevinTV host Mark Levin called for an investigation into the federal government for interference in the 2016 election.

Appearing on "Hannity," Levin said that the federal government was the "greatest perpetrator" against the American people during the election.

"We saw our federal government used by the prior administration, by the head of the CIA, by the head of the FBI, by the head of national intelligence, and many, many others, used to try and destroy the candidacy of an opposition candidate in another party — Donald Trump and the Republican Party," Levin said.

"We've never seen anything like this before in American history."

Levin said that ultimately former President Obama and his surrogates should be held responsible for his administration's abuses.

"The FISA court failed us. We have these national security letters that are supposed to be used in extreme circumstances being used, we have a cabal of FBI agents who took it upon themselves to investigate a candidate and his campaign, and then we have, of course, actual spies, one or more, in the Trump campaign.

"What the hell is this? The Soviet Union? Venezuela? It's the United States of America!"

There are two things Trump needs to do as soon as special counsel Mueller turns in his report to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, according to Levin.

He called on President Trump to appoint a special counsel to investigate the alleged interference in the election by the CIA, FBI, and the Obama administration's top intelligence officials. He also said that Trump should appoint a commission to reform the government to prevent this from happening to any future president of the United States.

"People need to be held to account!" Levin said.
