LevinTV host Mark Levin began his radio show Tuesday evening talking of President Trump’s decision to fire Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and appoint CIA Director Mike Pompeo in his place.

Levin reminded the audience that he was always opposed to Tillerson. “He’s not the kind of person the president needs as secretary of state,” he explained.

“This isn’t personal … but I knew he wasn’t up to this job,” Levin added.

Levin praised the Pompeo nomination:

“Mike Pompeo as CIA director has done an outstanding job … he’s very, very solid.”

Going back to Tillerson, Levin discussed how the ousted secretary of state was especially bad on the Iran nuclear deal. He credited the president with recognizing that Tillerson was not cut out for the job. In a world where North Korea, Iran, Russia, and other “violent, nasty regimes” continue their anti-U.S. posture, Trump had to make a move to strengthen his State Department, Levin argued. Listen:
