Thursday on the radio, LevinTV host Mark Levin blasted Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., who wrote a letter to the conservative-leaning Sinclair Broadcasting Group Wednesday calling its journalistic practices “troubling.”

Sinclair broadcasting has recently faced criticism for providing a script to local TV news anchors to deliver a message about opposing fake news. There was “nothing political about it,” Levin said of Sinclair’s message. Yet Durbin is now policing Sinclair’s decisions about what to air.

“The First Amendment exists to stop little tyrants like this, that’s right, I said it!” Levin exclaimed. “He’s a tyrant.”

“You have a United States senator, a federal official, trying to intimidate a private media company,” Levin said. He argues Sinclair Broadcasting did nothing wrong.

“The only reason Dick Durbin is going after this company, Sinclair, is because he can’t control it, like the Democrat Party control most of the media today.”
