Wednesday on the radio, LevinTV host Mark Levin interviewed Conservative Review senior editor Daniel Horowitz about the president’s authority to declare a national emergency on the border and begin construction of a border wall, in addition to funding other security measures.

In a wide-ranging discussion, Horowitz said that President Trump absolutely has the statutory authority to build the wall, that the border crisis is a national security issue, and that most commentators in the media don’t get it because they don’t talk to the experts dealing with the border every day, as Horowitz has.

“What the naysayers are saying is really not a legal argument; it’s a political argument,” Horowitz told Levin. “They don’t think we have a problem because they are border deniers.”

“Their brain cannot conceptualize the border cartels, the plaza cartels, the drugs, the human smugglings, the criminals. To them, that is not a national defense issue.”
