Mark Levin’s new book: It's 'not government oppression or suppression' destroying our press

Exactly how free is the American press these days? LevinTV host Mark Levin explores that question in his forthcoming book, “Unfreedom of the Press.”

In this latest book from the five-time number one New York Times best-selling author, he explains that the downfall of the American free press is not the fault of government intervention, but of the mainstream media’s abandonment of reporting integrity and journalistic standards.

“Unfreedom of the Press is not just another book about the press,” explains publisher Simon & Schuster. “Levin shows how those entrusted with news reporting today are destroying freedom of the press from within: ‘not government oppression or suppression,’ he writes, but self-censorship, group-think, bias by omission, and passing off opinion, propaganda, pseudo-events, and outright lies as news.”

The publisher also details how the book will delve into the history of the American press. It goes back to the early days of the Republic when our country’s newspapers “were open and transparent about their fierce allegiance to one political party or the other” and showing how what began during the Progressive Era at the start of the 20th century eventually left us with “a partisan party-press” that is “hypocritically engaged in a massive untruth as to its real nature.”

The book will be released on May 21 and is available for pre-order now.
