Millionaire Nancy Pelosi trashes tax cuts, calls $1,000 bonuses ‘crumbs’

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., is determined to keep Republicans in control of the House of Representatives. That, or the 15th richest member of Congress is so desperately out of touch with the American people that despite her best efforts to trash Republicans, she can’t help but come across as delusional.

Here’s what she said today when asked about the bonuses more than two million American workers are receiving after the Republican tax cuts were passed without a single Democratic vote:

“The number of bonuses that were given — one of the bonuses was already in a union contract, and then they added a little more money to that. That same firm just told their employees that they were going to be laying off 1,500 people, and if they want to save their jobs, they could all start working 32 hours in those communities. So, in terms of the bonus that corporate America receives versus the crumbs that they are giving to workers to kinda put the schmooze on is so pathetic,” Pelosi said on Thursday.

“And I would hope with their big advantage of bringing money home at a very low rate that they would invest in infrastructure and things but our experience has been they will do dividends, the will do stock buy-backs and things like that. I think it’s insignificant,” she added, unhelpfully.

Now, a limousine liberal like Pelosi might be too rich and powerful to realize that an extra $1,000 is a big help to working families, not “crumbs” and definitely not “insignificant,” but when you’re claiming that a tax cut for 80 percent of America is “Armageddon,” you clearly have a screw loose anyway.
