Speaking to the press Thursday, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., showed her cards — revealing that the Democrats’ de facto “solution” to the border crisis is wide-open borders.
Pelosi was asked about a tweet from President Donald Trump, in which the president declared, “Democrats want open Borders, where anyone can come into our Country, and stay. This is Nancy Pelosi’s dream. It won’t happen!”
“Democrats have taken full responsibility for securing our borders,” Pelosi responded. “We know that is a responsibility that we have, but we don’t think that we have to put children in cages to do it. There is a better way, and the president is either not knowing, not caring, delusional … in denial about his own [policy].”

That’s ridiculous. The Democrats have never taken responsibility for securing the border, which is why under the Obama administration, a flood of Central Americans massed on the border, responding to the promise of DACA amnesty. Pelosi talks about a “better way” to enforce immigration law without detaining children with their parents. But she’s refusing to compromise on either of the House immigration bills, and Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., has rejected legislative solutions.
House Republicans are intent on labeling their anti-family immigration legislation as a “compromise.” It must be a compromise with the Devil, because it is *not* a compromise with Democrats.

The president signed an executive order Wednesday ordering that children of illegal immigrants be detained with their parents, instead of the previous policy of separating them. Pelosi apparently rejects that too.
If Pelosi rejects detaining illegal immigrant children with their illegal immigrant parents, and she rejects the policy of separating these kids from their parents while the parents are prosecuted, well, as CRTV’s Nate Madden points out, the only other option is catch-and-release non-enforcement.
Pelosi asked about this by reporters. Said that there is "a better way" to enforcing the law than detaining children together w parents who are being processed. Since she was opposed to separation, that only leaves catch-and-release non-enforcement. Concedes POTUS' point here. https://t.co/KlDvq6qdGs

So Trump is right. That’s ultimately what the Democrats want. But Barack Obama is not president, and Trump is not going to continue Obama’s lax immigration policies.
If lawmakers want a solution, eventually the Democrats are going to have to concede something to the Trump administration. More likely, they’ll try to obstruct and kick the can down the road until the next election.
