'Queer Eye' star: 'Not all Republicans are racist.' Leftist mob: GET HIM

One of the stars of the hit Netflix show "Queer Eye" has committed the grave thoughtcrime of saying Democrats are moving too far left and refusing to label every single Republican a "racist." Now a Twitter mob is out to get him, the Wrap reports.

Jonathan Van Ness, one of the "Fab Five" in the Netflix reboot of "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy," offered some thoughts to Twitter on the 2018 primaries, expressing thankfulness that many "extreme right people" won, "meaning that if we can come up [with] center left candidates we can take back the house & senate."

Van Ness clearly wants Democrats to win. But he thinks Democrats are moving too far left with calls for socialized medicine, so he's urging the party to tap the brakes on democratic socialist insanity. Some of his fans didn't like that.

He was accused of punching left.

By calling for compromise.

Compromise? With conservatives and Republicans? NEVER!

They don't want to reach "mutual understanding with racists."

The replies became voluminous, so Van Ness recorded a video response.

“I decided to tweet political things today and you know that can go one of two ways,” he says in the video. "I feel like we are currently, everyone, like the Left and the Right, we're all being played, and I hate to say this, but we're really being played by people in newsrooms who are just, like, writing things for headlines to, like, really piss off people on the Left and really piss off people on the Right."

“Left people are not necessarily inherently evil and right people are not necessarily inherently evil, and our ability to notice gray area and to notice what compromise means and how much compromise has led us to where we are is important," he continues.

“We have to be able to not demonize the Right.”

It's sad that Van Ness is under attack for thinking like this. He's no conservative, at all, and he loathes the Trump administration, as he says himself.

But his life story demonstrates what individual liberty and conservative policies let people achieve.

Growing up in Quincy, Illinois, Van Ness was bullied in school for being openly gay. He became the first male cheerleader in his high school and won a cheerleading scholarship to the University of Arizona, where he majored in political science. He wasn't a very good student, and he dropped out after one semester because of failing grades due to his habit of skipping class to watch reruns of “The Golden Girls.”

He picked himself up by learning to style hair and training at the Aveda Institute in Minneapolis. Eventually, he took a risk and moved to California, where he found a job at the Sally Hershberger Salon. In 2013, he was talent-scouted by his friend and client Erin Gibson, who thought his recaps of "Game of Thrones" episodes were funny. Van Ness starred in the "Gay of Thrones" web series and won awards for subsequent successful web series. Now he is a major Netflix star on the “Queer Eye” revival, with many fans.

Van Ness worked hard and found success. He is living the American dream. And now he’s another progressive targeted by the mob for wrongthink about Republicans.
