A conservative Texas House member is “sick and tired of all the hand-wringers in both parties” when it comes to securing the southern border.

In a Sunday night Twitter thread, Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, called out both major political parties for contributing to the security/drug/sovereignty/humanitarian crisis at America’s southern border.

“The fact is that we have an unprecedented flow of human beings that is overwhelming the Border Patrol,” Roy tweeted, “and that it is directly the result of our failure to secure our border for years because idiotic politicians in BOTH parties have failed to take it seriously while hiding behind identity politics or the need for cheap labor and false premises like citizenship based on soil.”

Roy also ran down the troubling facts and heartrending realities that bipartisan inaction and ineffectiveness on immigration have created.

“And every bit of this is something we have the power to control, but refuse to do,” Roy concluded. “We have a duty to secure our border. We have a duty to be serious about our offer of asylum to the select few being truly persecuted [without] turning it into a profit machine for cartels at the expense of Americans & the migrants who seek to come here. #SecureOurBorderNow”
