Typically, Conservative Review does not cover Democratic primary elections, but tonight we’re making an exception for the Minnesota state attorney general primary.
Days before the primary, attorney general candidate Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., the vice chairman of the Democratic National Committee, was accused of abuse by a former girlfriend. Ellison vehemently denies the accusations, which have thrown a wrench into the five-way Democratic primary where Ellison was favored to win. More than 100,000 people have already voted early in the primary, and tonight we’re watching this race to see if these allegations of abuse, which thus far the DNC has remained silent about, sink Ellison’s bid to become state attorney general.
Minnesota uses an open primary system, meaning voters do not need to register with a political party to vote in that party’s primary elections. The polls will close at 9:00 p.m. ET.
