Report: MS-13 terrorizing NY families into taking illegal minors

The notorious MS-13 gang is paying and threatening Long Island families into taking in “unaccompanied minor” illegal immigrants, Long Island Representative Peter King, R-N.Y. said Thursday.

Speaking with Fox Business host Steward Varney, Rep. King explained a federal program that exists to places minors who cross the border illegally with guardians here in the United States — and how it is being abused by the violent street gang known as “MS-13.”

“Intelligence is showing, MS-13 is getting families in communities like Brentwood and Central Islip on Long Island [New York]—either threatening the families or paying the families to volunteer to take these kids in and HHS then sends the kids into these neighborhoods,” Rep. King said.

Six recent brutal murders in Rep. King’s district have been attributed to MS-13 gang activity.

King drew attention to MS-13 efforts to recruit from the more than 4,000 illegal immigrant children who have been placed in his district over the last two years. “Of recent MS-13 arrests in Suffolk County, which is my district, more than 70% of them are of these unaccompanied minors,” he said.

When an incredulous Varney asked Rep. King why the mainstream media has not reported this story, King explained how liberals don’t want to let facts hurt their feelings.

“Basically this was looked upon as a program that showed how humanitarian we are,” Rep. King said, adding that these illegal alien minors were supposed to be “mainstreamed into American society.”

“That was the false dream,” he said. “The reality is…many of them, a significant number, are terrorizing the neighborhoods in which they are in.”

The matter has been brought to the attention of the attorney general. On Tuesday, AG Jeff Sessions declared that he would work to “devastate” MS-13 as part of the Trump administration’s plan to “get tough” on crime committed by illegal immigrants.

Sessions told Fox News’ Tucker Carlson that during the Obama administration gang members "were directed how to enter, if they came, and claim themselves as a minor and the Obama administration let them come in the country and took them to their destination city and turned them over to some relative that claimed to be a relative."

According to the AG Sessions, MS-13 could be designated as a terrorist organization due to the violence and intimidation tactics practiced by its members.

"They use machetes, they kill children, they put children into prostitution at age 12 ... They’re involved in the kinds of activities that can be identified and they can be prosecuted," Sessions said. "I believe if we stay at it, we can devastate this organization and that’s going to be our goal."
