Sandmann attorney tells Mark Levin suit against CNN ‘may be higher’ than $250M against WaPo

On Sunday’s “Life, Liberty & Levin” on Fox News, L. Lin Wood, the attorney for the media-smeared Covington Catholic High School student Nicholas Sandmann, told LevinTV host Mark Levin that he is planning a lawsuit against CNN on Sandmann’s behalf for even more than the $250 million lawsuit he filed against the Washington Post.

“CNN was probably more vicious in its direct attacks on Nicholas than the Washington Post,” Wood explained. “And CNN goes into millions of individuals’ homes.”

“CNN couldn’t resist the idea that here’s a guy, a young boy, with a ‘Make America Great Again’ cap on,” Wood said. “So they go after him.”

Wood’s client, 15-year-old Nicholas Sandmann, became the subject of a national media firestorm after a deceptively edited video surfaced of him being confronted by Native American activist Nathan Phillips at the annual March for Life.

A different video showing the full context of the confrontation showed that Sandmann was not the aggressor in the situation. But the damage from the legacy media’s inflammatory reporting was already done.

“They’re out there right away going after this young boy, and they maintain it for at least two days,” Wood explained. “Why didn’t they stop and just take an hour and look through the internet and find the truth and then report it? Maybe do that before you report the lies.”

“They didn’t do it. They were vicious. It was false,” Wood continued. “CNN will be sued next week, and the dollar figure in the CNN case may be higher than it was in the Washington Post.” Wood added that his firm planned to bring the suit against the news company either Monday or Tuesday of this week.

“If you took the time to look at the full context of what happened that day, Nicholas Sandmann did absolutely nothing wrong,” Wood told Levin. “He was the only adult in the room.”
