Whose side are you on? In today's hyper-polarized America, we're taught that the political spectrum runs from left to right, and that everyone has to choose a side.
On the far Left, we're told, are ideologies like socialism and communism, while on the far Right are fascism and theocracy. What they don't tell you, what they don't want you to know, is that these two sides have more in common than most people realize.
Fascists like Hitler and Mussolini ran brutal authoritarian states, resulting in the deaths of millions of people. Communists like Stalin and Mao Zedong did the same. Using the left-right spectrum, the middle ground is between mass murder on either side, and that doesn't make a lot of sense.
That's why, in Matt Kibbe's new series on CRTV, he's flipping the spectrum on its side. Things get simpler when you realize that the difference between left and right is not nearly so significant as the difference between top and bottom.

At the bottom, of course, are all those ideologies and systems of government that treat individuals like disposable tools toward a greater good. As Cambodian dictator Pol Pot once said, "To keep you is no benefit, to destroy you is no loss." Left or Right, all these deadly Isms are united by their disregard for human freedom and individuality.
Meanwhile, on the other end of the spectrum, we have voluntary cooperation — communities working together to solve problems — and we have liberty. When people are free to pursue their own happiness, as we will see, good things happen.
"The Deadly Isms" is not only a rethinking of the political spectrum, it's a series of stories. Stories you probably haven't heard — about some of the worst mistakes in the history of governance as well as inspirational tales of liberty. Through it all, Matt Kibbe will walk you through the good, the bad, and the ugly of political history.
