The far Left is enthusiastic Wednesday after a candidate backed by socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., won an upset victory in Florida’s Democratic primary for governor. But he is too extreme to win.
Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum, 39, came from a fourth-place showing in the polls to win the Democratic gubernatorial primary Tuesday night, defeating the front-runner and establishment candidate Rep. Gwen Graham, D-Fla. Gillum’s win is described as “a victory for party purists, who argued Democrats needed to align behind an unabashed liberal in order to energize the party,” according to the Miami Herald. He was the clear choice of progressive groups including Indivisible, Our Revolution, NextGen America, The Collective, the Working Families Party, and the Progressive Change Campaign Committee, and he was financially supported by “billionaires Tom Steyer and George Soros.”
His campaign platform reflects the far-left ideology of socialists like Bernie Sanders, whom Gillum claims to have a “shared vision” with.
The endorsement of @BernieSanders means a lot because we have a shared vision and he believes we should be measured by that vision — not by who has the most money. Join our grassroots movement at https://t.co/fm0ODFFGWU. pic.twitter.com/XYGbrH7M2D

On the issues, Gillum:
Time to vote FOR something, not just against!
– Beat the NRA
– Healthcare for All
– $1 Billion More for Education
– Ban Assault Weapons
– $15 Minimum Wage
– Restore Rights
– Abolish & Replace ICE
– End Stand Your Ground
– Clean Up our Water
– Legalize Marijuana
– Impeach Trump https://t.co/olCF9SXuA2

Gillum is a far-left extremist. His radical positions ought to be disqualifying for a state like Florida, which is currently dominated by full Republican control of state government.
