This ain’t your father’s Democrat Party

One need not go back to the 1800s to find a Democrat Party with a shred of sanity among its ranks. As late as 1996, Bill Clinton declared: “the era of big government is over.” In his 1992 acceptance speech, Clinton mentioned God five times (unlike Trump) and referenced Scripture.  ‘Don’t ask, don’t tell’ was the liberal policy of the time and even Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-NY (F, 2%) was championing religious liberty. Democrats held ground that most Republicans, including the GOP’s vice presidential nominee, Mike Pence, won’t even hold today in protecting religious liberty.

Fast-forward two decades and we have an entire party for which the term “liberal” is outdated. They are now the party of de-civilization. Man is woman, right is wrong, illegal is legal, terrorist is victim, government molds your character, the weather is a bigger enemy than Islamic terror attacks, criminals are police and police are criminals, etc.

Over a decade ago, Robert Bork warned that we were slouching towards Gomorrah. It is now apparent that we are living in Gomorrah. Sadly, what was on display last night at the Democratic National Convention is not merely outrageous behavior of a few thousand random radicals; these are the people that control every societal institution, the legal profession, and the bureaucracies to this day and will likely continue to do so even with a Republican president. This is now the party of transgenderism, illegal aliens, the Muslim Brotherhood, and racial warfare.

It was fitting that the convention was gaveled in by Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, the woman who became a symbol of lawlessness when she gave violent mobs “space to destroy,” maiming dozens of police officers. The two competing ideologies once differed on entitlements and subsidies; now there is no agreement on the basic concepts of ordered liberty, sovereignty, security, and fundamental rights. They champion the violent and divisive “Black Lives Matter,” openly showcase illegal immigrants on stage and delegitimize our deeply entrenched statutes governing our sovereignty.  While they promote transgenderism, they have no time to discuss Islamic terror or give voice to victims of terror.  While there were almost no American flags in the audience, at least one Palestinian flag was spotted.  Meanwhile, Congressman Hank Johnson (D-GA) comparedJews living in their ancestral homeland to “termites” and Keith Ellison, a radical with support from the Muslim Brotherhood, got a prime time speaking slot.

This is a party that is so consumed with racial identity that they are purposely ignoring the daily terror attacks, the biggest existential threat to our civilization – one which should traverse ideological lines – simply because it undermines their racialist agenda.  They spoke incessantly of equality, but their entire platform is built upon tendentious treatment for favored classes to such an extent that they refuse to confront Islamic terror. Their only point of contention was whether to include the “Q” in the sexual identity and deviancy alphabet soup (one area Trump outdid them!).

The most effective speech of the night was from Michelle Obama, but her radicalism and bitterness were clearly evident even in the eloquent prose of the speech. One of the more shocking and overlooked lines of her speech was when she said this election “is about who will have the power to shape our children for the next four or eight years of their lives.” A job description that was intended to include the CEO of the federal government and the commander-in-chief of the military is now viewed as a godly figure who will “shape our children,” according to Democrats. This is a party that views Sen. Tim Kaine as a moderate, a man who led the boycott against Israel’s Prime Minister and supported universal government preschool for all Virginia four-year-olds. A man who promises mass citizenship for the entire Third World and existing illegal immigrants within 100 days of taking office.

What is evident from this convention is that the Democrat Party speaks unapologetically with moral clarity in support of their immorality.  Yet, we don’t have a party in opposition that will harness that same moral clarity and fight for what is moral and just.  Even if one believes Trump will speak to some of these issues, the entire party apparatus – from the RNC and congressional leaders to state parties – are as rotten as ever.

There has always been an inherent imbalance in the two parties’ effectiveness and spirit to fight, but the consequences of having no effective alternative party were never so great in the era of your grandfather’s Democrat Party and even your father’s Democrat Party.  The media is making a lot of noise about the fact that the two parties’ platforms are more extreme than ever, but the difference is that Democrats actually govern according to their platform, while the GOP platform is a complete joke and much of it was ignored on the stage of their own convention where LGBTQ^2 (queer/questioning!) was more prominent than God.

Irrespective of which party wins this election, it is quite evident that the Democrat Party will never reform itself and will always pose a threat to our most basic values as Americans. And they will continue to succeed until we create a new party that fights for our founding values with as much force as they fight for their values of de-civilization.
