A new Harvard-Harris poll provided exclusively to The Hill reveals that McConnell has just a 19 percent favorability rating nationally, worse than both Speaker Ryan and President Trump. The lowest of any elected official.

Forty-nine percent of voters polled have a negative view of McConnell. According to The Hill, the rest didn’t know enough about McConnell to have an opinion or didn’t know who he was.

Among Republicans, McConnell is the only Republican elected official polled that is not viewed favorably by a majority of the party. Only 32 percent of GOP respondents have a favorable view of McConnell.

In his home state of Kentucky, McConnell’s approval rating is actually even lower at just 18 percent, according to recent Public Policy Polling results.

McConnell won’t be up for reelection until 2020, but intra-party leadership elections will be held after the 2018 midterms. With these kind of numbers, can Mitch McConnell hold on to leadership for much longer?
