Vegas killer's motive remains a complete mystery

On October 1, Stephen Paddock opened fire on Las Vegas concertgoers. It was the deadliest mass shooting in American history, leaving 58 people dead and 546 injured. Today, almost two months after the shooting took place, his motives remain a complete mystery. The public is entirely in the dark, families of those murdered are left with more questions than answers, and the mainstream media has seemingly moved on to other things.

A search conducted by Conservative Review shows that there doesn’t appear to have been a single substantive report revealing new information on the atrocious attack this week. It appears that the mainstream media — with all of their immense resources and staffing — have moved on from getting to the bottom of what motivated the Vegas killer.

The latest update from police came four days ago in the form of a forensics report. Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo revealed that Paddock fired some 1,100 rounds at innocents that day. Lombardo said he’d have another update in the next two weeks or so. He also confirmed that police have yet to formulate a motive for the attack. The sheriff added that investigators again recently spoke with Marilou Danley, Paddock’s girlfriend, who was overseas during the attack.

The FBI is also tasked with investigating the deadly shooting. The last update from the FBI came six days ago from Special Agent Aaron Rouse, who declined to give a timetable to solve questions related to the shooting.

“Everyone wants to know why,” Rouse told a local radio station, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “That includes the FBI, that includes Metropolitan police. And I believe when this is finalized, we’re going to come as close as possible to answering that question.”

“I doubt it’s going to take a very, very long time based upon what I know today. … But I want to get it right,” he added.

The potential motive for Paddock remains a source of endless speculation, but with little hard proof to back up the theories. Some believe Paddock was carrying out his attack on behalf of the ISIS terrorist organization (ISIS claimed the attack through its media networks). Others say he could have been motivated to commit murder by significant gambling debts. Another hypothesis points to a grudge against a particular casino. An alternative theory argues that he could have been a psychopath, as his father was diagnosed as one. And there’s also speculation that he was motivated by far-right or far-left political viewpoints.
