Vote Alert: $3 Billion Spending Cut

This amendment, sponsored by Rep. Huelskamp (R-KS), would have cut $3 billion from the Interior spending bill. Specifically, it tried to reign in the EPA with cuts to their budget and also eliminated the National Endowment for the Arts and National Endowment for the Humanities. There are numerous private charities dedicated to advancing the arts and humanities. These cuts would have been painless. This amendment failed 126 – 284 on July 25, 2011.
