Vote Alert: Declare Obama's Executive Amnesty Unconstitutional

On November 20, President Obama announced an unprecedented amnesty for millions of illegal aliens without the consent of Congress. Through executive fiat, he set up a program through which the illegal immigrants can apply for work permits and Social Security cards. The Cruz point of order to the FY 2015 “Cromnibus” bill would have declared this action unconstitutional, thereby sending the bill back to the House of Representatives to fix the offending Constitutional violation, funding unlawful executive amnesty. A yes vote was a vote to declare Obama’s amnesty unconstitutional; a no vote was an act of support for Obama’s unlawful and harmful policy. The point of order ultimately failed in the Senate on December 13, 2014 in a roll call vote of 22-74.
