Vote Alert: Defund ObamaCare

CR Liberty Score Update

This legislation looked to fully fund the government and pause the implementation of Obamacare. Obamacare would have been paused for one year to give Congress time to address the skyrocketing health care premiums, mass insurance cancellations, and damage to the economy and employment market.

The Constitution specifically grants Congress the power of the purse to counteract and out of control executive branch. Congress should exercise that authority to stop any more damage from Obamacare. While this bill passed the House 230 – 189 on Sept. 20, 2013, the Senate struck language pausing Obamacare and the final bill approved fully funding Obamacare.
