Judge Brett Kavanaugh began his opening statement at Thursday’s hearing with righteous anger.
But if there was a single moment that will convince anyone of Kavanaugh’s sincerity, it wasn’t in his vehement denials. It wasn’t in his angry condemnation of the Democrats’ behavior. It wasn’t in the facts he laid out in his defense.
It was the moment he broke and described what his 10-year-old daughter said:

Is that a man whose life should be destroyed by 36-year-old allegations with no eyewitnesses, no corroborating witnesses, and no evidence?
