White House economist schools media on Obama’s claim that Trump inherited this economy
September 10, 2018
At a White House press briefing Monday, Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers Kevin Hassett gave the media a lesson on how the economic boom we're seeing under President Donald Trump is without a doubt because of Trump's policies.
Last Friday, former President Obama attempted to take credit for the Trump economy, arguing that he started a trend of economic recovery that continued into Donald Trump's presidency.
Here's Hassett explaining how historians will "100 percent accept the fact" that the economy improved after Trump's election.
"If you look at the collective body of evidence, the notion that what we're seeing right now is just a continuation of trends is not super defensible," Hassett said.
