NY Times full-bore … Today is Martin Luther King Jr. Day. To celebrate the day, over the long weekend the New York Times dedicated not one, not two, but three pieces to declaring President Donald Trump a racist. First up we have “Donald Trump’s racism: The definitive list.” Then there’s Charles M. Blow’s piece, “Trump is a racist. Period.” This piece has the helpful URL “trump-racist-shithole.” Then there’s “The heartbeat of racism is denial.” The last one is great: If you deny you are a racist, it means you are one.
Flake-out … When Josef Stalin wasn’t jailing political opponents, he was killing them. Yet that’s the man that Sen. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., is now set to compare President Trump to. In a speech that Flake plans to make this week on the Senate floor, he will equate Trump’s attacks on the media with Stalin. This is just getting absolutely ridiculous.
Raj “whatever-his-name-is” … Speaking of racist, paging Chris Cuomo. Raj Shah is the White House deputy press secretary. He is the person who sent out the original statement regarding the “shithole” comments. Referring to Shah, Cuomo said, “Remember … we went to the White House when it happened, Raj whatever-his-name-is didn’t back off the words.” The Daily Caller has the video.

Power party … Samantha Power, former U.S. ambassador to the U.N., had an election party back in 2016. Politico has the details. Apparently Power invited the 37 female ambassadors to the U.N. to her apartment to celebrate a Clinton win. Gloria Steinem and former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright were also reportedly there. Looking back on the night, Power told Politico, “I’ve had a lot of bad ideas in my life, though none as immortalized as that one.”
“Cosby-pill” jokes … As the #MeToo moment continues to ramp up, one big media personality has so far seemed untouchable. The Daily Caller reported back in December that NBC made a payment to a staffer after a claim of sexual harassment against Chris Matthews years ago. An MSNBC spokesman went on the record to confirm the payment. Now there is video of Matthews joking about slipping Hillary Clinton a “Cosby-pill” before doing an interview with her. Some people are still untouchable.
Editor’s note: An earlier version of this piece stated that Samantha Bee had thrown an election-night party for the female ambassadors to the U.N. It was actually Samantha Power. CR regrets the error.
