Bill Clinton says Republicans want people to be 'miserable' and 'angry'

Former President Bill Clinton said on Wednesday that Republicans want people to be "miserable" and "angry."

While campaigning for Democrat Josh Riley, who is running to represent New York's 19th Congressional District, Clinton described Republicans as "pretty simple actually ... and pretty straightforward. They say, 'I want you to be very miserable'" as well as "'very angry'" and to "'vote for us and we'll make it worse but we'll blame them.'"

Clinton served as president for two terms that spanned from early 1993 through early 2001. His wife Hillary Clinton, a former U.S. senator and former secretary of state, lost the 2016 presidential election to GOP candidate Donald Trump — she has said that she will never mount another White House bid again.

Riley is a pro-choice candidate whose campaign website describes the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade earlier this year as "an affront to progress, liberty, and women's rights." The candidate's website also states, "We Must Get To Zero Net Greenhouse Emissions, And We Must Do It Quickly."

Riley is facing off against Republican Marc Molinaro for the seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Democrats are aiming to cling to control of both chambers of Congress during the 2022 midterm election cycle.

During a speech on Wednesday, President Joe Biden, who has faced sagging job approval numbers for a significant length of time, claimed that "democracy ... is at risk." He said that "extreme MAGA Republicans" are seeking to "suppress the right of voters and subvert the electoral system itself."

The 2022 midterm elections come as Americans continue to be walloped by soaring inflation month after month. "Over the last 12 months, the all items index increased 8.2 percent before seasonal adjustment," the consumer price index report released in October noted. "The all items index increased 8.2 percent for the 12 months ending September, a slightly smaller figure than the 8.3-percent increase for the period ending August."

Furious progressive has meltdown on camera over possible SCOTUS abortion overturn, says she's 'done' with 'losers' in Democratic Party — even 'The Squad'

Progressive pundit Ana Kasparian of "The Young Turks" melted down on camera Tuesday in a furious freakout over the Supreme Court's potential overturn of its 1973 ruling that made abortion federally legal.

Kasparian also said she's "done" with Democratic Party "losers" — even the leftist darlings in "The Squad," which has included U.S. Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, Rashida Tlaib of Michigan, and Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts.

What did she say?

“If we’re gonna sit around and wait for our elected lawmakers to protect us from these religious zealots and these right-wing authoritarians, man, we have another thing coming,” Kasparian said. “How many times do we need to be disappointed by them? I’m done with them.”

The commentator noted that while she doesn't speak for all those at "The Young Turks," she is giving up on Democrats coming through.

“I’m done with them. Completely. The Democratic Party, every single one of them. That includes the Squad. I don’t care any more,” Kasparian continued. “They have not delivered! They have not delivered. I’m done! It’s time to organize, create organizations that get women and get people in this country what they need — people who are willing to pick up the slack for these disgusting, feckless, corrupt politicians!”

Kasparian at another point repeatedly screamed at the camera and at co-host Cenk Uygur, barely keeping it together as she railed against the lack of progressive policies such as paid family leave and affordable child care — and again pointing the finger at Democrats.

"What do you want them to do with their kids when they have to go to work? What do you want them to do? What do you want them to do? I want them to answer that freakin' question! Answer the question! Journalists, ask them the question! Ask them! Ask them! Ask them the goddamned question!"

Keeping cool, Uygur posed, “Isn't it amazing that not one Democrat has shown 1% of the passion that Ana has today?”

Kasparian's reply? The Democrats "don’t care! They’re fine! They're fine! They’re all so old, they don’t have to worry about it affecting them, and if they’re young enough where it would affect them, they’ll get their abortion, okay? They’re trading individual stocks, enriching themselves, they’re good! They’re good! They don’t care about you. Make sure you understand, that you feel it in your bones. They don’t care about you — at all!”

She also ripped Democrats “losers” for their failure to pass voting rights legislation.

Anything else?

According to the New York Post, Kasparian also ripped House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.): “Nancy Pelosi, on the record, said we need ‘strong Republicans.’ I bet you do. Nancy, I bet you do. Without the strong Republicans, how would you fundraise, you pathetic, pathetic corporate goon?"

The TYT pundit also quipped to Pelosi: "How’s your refrigerator doing? How’s your luxury ice cream doing, okay? How’s all that going for you?” the paper said.

The Post added that Kasparian also took aim at "bootlickers for the Democratic Party" who "get so upset at me for telling you the truth about how ineffective and pathetic Democratic lawmakers are. Go ahead and cry about it. ‘Oh, but the real enemies are the Republicans.’ At least Republicans tell us exactly who they are. They don’t even hide their cards. They tell us exactly who they are and what they’re planning on doing.”

Oh, and lest we forget, the paper added that she also called Democratic President Joe Biden a “freaking liar” for not taking action to cancel student loan debt.

“You don’t know what your job title entitles you to? You don’t know? Why are you president?” she asked, according to the Post. “Why did you nominate an education secretary? What’s the whole point?”

Far-left Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot's bullying email to staffer draws comparisons to creepy scene from horror film 'The Shining'

A bullying email that Democratic Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot sent to her then-scheduler in January — in which the mayor demanded more "office time" and repeated sentences over and over — has drawn comparisons to a creepy scene from iconic horror film "The Shining," the Chicago Tribune reported.

What are the details?

The paper obtained the email — and a separate angry missive which includes an attached photo of ripped-up documents — through a Freedom of Information Act request.

Lightfoot's first email shown above begins with a single sentence, "Since my prior requests for office time are routinely ignored, I am now resorting to this." That's followed by five paragraphs, each containing a single sentence repeated multiple times.

"I need office time everyday!" Lightfoot wrote 16 times in a row in one paragraph, followed by another in which she wrote "Not just once a week or some days, everyday!" a total of 10 times in a row. It went on with "Breaks or transition times between meetings are not office time" repeated seven times in row in another paragraph, then "If this doesn't change immediately, I will just start unilaterally canceling things every day" written five times in a row.

Lightfoot ended her screed by asking "Have I made myself clear, finally?!" repeated 13 times in a row.

'All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy'

The Tribune said some observers compared Lightfoot's email to "The Shining" scene in which Shelley DuVall's character discovers hundreds of typed book manuscript pages by her now-insane husband (Jack Nicolson) that contain nothing but the phrase, "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy" — repeated over and over again:

The Tribune reported that the scheduler in question departed Lightfoot's office for another job earlier this year.

In the second Lightfoot email highlighted in the above tweet — which includes the image of ripped-up documents — she wrote, "Here's my new practice for memos that come at the last minute. As I noted, I want decisions memos no later than 48 hours before the decision is needed and I have directed [staff] to reject all efforts to bring things to me directly that skirt these rules."

Lightfoot added, "I have asked nicely, now I am done."

The paper said there has been an ongoing exodus of City Hall staffers — and at least a dozen top employees have resigned or said they're leaving since late last year.

The Tribune added that current and former Lightfoot advisers complain that she doesn't take advice, can be difficult to approach, and is known to be profane and hard-charging.

What did Lightfoot have to say?

The paper said Lightfoot indicated Monday that her email with the repeating sentences regarding her need for more office time was written "after a lot of conversation and born of frustration."

"We got beyond that and solved the challenges that were at the heart of that email which was written five-plus months ago so I think we're in a better place," the mayor added during an unrelated press conference, according to the paper.

'Let our children breathe!': Arizona school board flees as angry parents demand lift of mask mandate for kids

The school board for Vail, Arizona, scrapped its scheduled meeting Tuesday night and called 911 after a group of furious parents swarmed their study session ahead of time demanding the panel drop the mask mandate for their children.

What are the details?

Last week, Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey (R) lifted the statewide mask mandate for schools, but some districts immediately announced they would keep their own mask mandates in place — including the Vail Unified School District.

So, Vail parents against the mask mandate for their kids held a rally outside the Vail Education Center (where Tuesday's meeting was set to take place), holding protest signs and chanting, "Let our children breathe!"

The crowd, estimated to be around 100 people, then poured inside the facility where they were greeted by a sergeant and four deputies from the Pima County Sheriff's Department who informed them that the meeting had been canceled due to safety concerns, according to KGUN-TV.

"These are our kids," one furious mom can be seen telling law enforcement at the scene, according to a video from KVOA-TV. "We have bills in the Constitution in Arizona that give us parental rights — they are inalienable rights. They do not have the right to take them away, and yet this state, and this board, has taken it away from us. And they have the audacity to leave when we come here as peaceful parents and talk to them? It's bull crap."

In the absence of the actual elected board, the protesting parents held their own "election" via parliamentary procedure by those present and named their own new school board members.

At this time, however, the district's mask mandate remains in place and so does the school board elected by the public at large, KVOA reported.
