PETA accused of spinning in circles for animal activist org's latest quizzical target: 'These people have truly lost it'



The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals have waged a war against an unlikely and quizzical target – carousels with inanimate animals.

On Thursday, PETA published an article calling for the end of merry-go-rounds with fake animals installed on them.

The animal rights organization penned a letter to Aaron Landrum – president and CEO of Chance Rides, which is the largest manufacturer of amusement rides in the country.

PETA demanded the amusement ride company to "end the production and sale of animal-themed carousels that normalize the use of animals as conveyances and amusements and instead produce carousel figures in the shape of cars, airplanes, spaceships, bulldozers, and other vehicles or more whimsical designs, like shooting stars, rainbows, or brooms."

"Animals used for rides and other forms of entertainment — including camels, horses, elephants, and dolphins — are often beaten into submission, deprived of everything that’s natural and important to them, and even slaughtered once their bodies wear out," the animal activist org alleged.

PETA's alleged logic for wanting to ban the animal-themed carousels: "Children learn through play, and teaching them to have respect and compassion for all living, feeling beings can help create a more just and merciful world."

PETA pointed to other companies that have discontinued the use of animal imagery, such as Nabisco replacing caged animals on its Barnum’s Animals Crackers and Trader Joe's ending packaging featuring elephants performing.

However, netizens overwhelmingly disagreed and mocked PETA for demanding the end of animal-themed carousels.

Someone wrote, "I just can't anymore. Carousels with horses have existed for 150 years. They are more rare now than 50 years ago. Just. Stop. The. Constant. Nonsense."

An X social media user, "How can anyone take that organization seriously?"

Another user added, "Yes because metal animals are totally like real ones."

Someone noted, "Wow these people have truly lost it."

Another user stated, "Just when you think clown world may have peaked."

One person added, "Someone tell them nobody's eating the carousel animals."

NFL linebacker won't face charges after flattening woke protester who stormed field with smoke bomb: 'There's consequences for your actions'



Los Angeles Rams linebacker Bobby Wagner won't face charges after utterly flattening a woke protester who stormed the playing field with a pink smoke bomb during a "Monday Night Football" game against the San Francisco 49ers in October.

A Santa Clara Police Department spokesperson told TMZ Sports that cops "did not file charges with the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office" in reference to Taylor's mighty wallop on national television.

Police launched a probe the day after the Oct. 3 game at Levi's Stadium when Alexander Taylor claimed Wagner assaulted him, the outlet reported.

Taylor is an activist for the Berkeley-based animal rights group Direct Action Everywhere, and his stunt apparently was an attempt to raise awareness about a trial involving the alleged theft of pigs from a factory farm.

What's the background?

During the second quarter, Taylor ran onto the field with the smoke bomb and successfully evaded security personnel, one of whom slipped and fell in the process.

But as Taylor skirted near the Rams' sideline, Wagner emerged and put a heavy lick on the woke demonstrator, who immediately collapsed to the turf.

What did Wagner have to say?

Wagner later said he knew about the protester filing a police report but had larger concerns on his mind, ESPN reported.

"Can't really focus on it," Wagner said, according to the sports network. "I'm more concerned about the security guard that was hurt trying to chase him. ... You just got to do what you got to do."

Wagner also said players never know what trespassers who run onto the field have in their hands or pockets, ESPN said.

"There's consequences for your actions," Wagner added, according the sports network.

Rams coach Sean McVay has Taylor's back, ESPN said: "I think that we all know where Bobby's intentions were ... and I support Bobby Wagner. That's where I'm at with that. I don't think anybody will disagree."

'You do owe a duty of safety, even to trespassers'

After the protester claimed Wagner assaulted him, Los Angeles personal injury attorney Rony Barsoum told KTTV-TV the protester could have a case against Taylor under California law.

"You have to provide a reasonable amount of safety, even for trespassers," Barsoum told the station, adding that if "someone trespasses on your premises" and gets injured by "something dangerous on your premises ... that can be a claim, even though he was trespassing. So you do owe a duty of safety, even to trespassers."

Barsoum added to KTTV that the protester can claim that Wagner "didn't need to tackle him" and that "security was gonna get him" and Wagner "didn't have to hit him that hard." The station also pointed out that Wagner can claim he feared for his and others' safety and was therefore justified in knocking the protester down.

Animal rights activists held a large protest in New York City on Saturday afternoon. However, some of the participants became concerningly unhinged when a man committed the crime of eating a shish kebab, as seen in a viral video.

The animal rights activists were furious that people were eating ice cream.

Outside the Fendi store, protesters spilled fake blood and said the luxury fashion brand had "blood on its hands." There were also screams of, "50 dead animals for one fur coat!"

The crowd demanded a "fur-free NYC" in front of the Louis Vuitton store.

Outside a McDonald's restaurant, demonstrators yelled, "It's not McDonald's, it's mcmurder!"

Standing near the front door of the Nike store, animal activists claimed that the colossal shoe manufacturer kills 2 million kangaroos a year.

One man infiltrated the protest and trolled the animal rights activists by eating shish kebab right in front of the demonstrators. Multiple animal activists lost their minds because the man had the audacity to eat meat. The scene became incredibly intense, but the vitriol didn't stop the man from enjoying his shish kebab.

An irate animal activist lectured the man, "You disgust me. Who do you think you are? You're just a coward. You're a spineless piece of s**t, and you're embarrassing yourself. You're gonna die on your own."

Some in the crowd chanted: "Shame!"

An even more enraged protester shrieked obscenities in the meat-eating troll's face.

The man trolled the woman by licking the shish kebab with great delight.

The New York City protest was part of "World Day for the End of Speciesism" demonstrations organized by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).

Viral News NYC interviewed PETA campaign specialist Ashley Byrne about "World Day for the End of Speciesism."

"I'm here because this is our chance as animal rights activists to come together once a year to celebrate our movement, to let the world that we’re taking a stand together against speciesism, which is the idea that humans are superior to animals and we have a right to use them for our purposes," Byrne said.

"And I think what we all want out of being here today is for people to think about their relationship with animals and to realize that animals are individuals," she added. "They were created for their own purposes. They’re thinking, feeling individuals just like us. And they deserve better than to be used and exploited for human purposes."
