Joy Reid admits what a recent poll confirmed: Some Democrats are apparently desperate for violence

Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) definitively won Tuesday's vice presidential debate. Whereas a number of liberal pundits admitted as much, MSNBC talking head Joy Reid did her best to characterize Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz's abysmal showing as a strategic victory.

Midway through her latest mental gymnastic routine, Reid suggested that unlike the undecided voters Walz was supposedly trying to win over with words, the Democratic base is instead attracted to political violence, particularly toward President Donald Trump.

"I don't think that this was a debate that was designed to move people off of their team if they were already on it," Reid told her fellow panelists. "There is a very small, narrow group of people who have not made up their minds about Donald Trump and Kamala Harris."

According to Reid, Walz satisfactorily targeted that "small, narrow group of people" and gave them what they want and haven't alternatively been getting from Kamala Harris: policy details.

Unlike undecided voters hungry for more information, Reid suggested that the base of the Democratic Party wanted to see a "fist fight."

'Democrats are still calling for violence.'

"Democrats want to see someone get up there and give a knuckle sandwich to Donald Trump," continued Reid. "That's what they want, but that's not the group of people who need this debate. Those people are already voting, already know what they want."

Reid's admission that the Democratic base wants Harris' opponent to be met with physical harm appears to support the finding in a recent poll concerning Democrats' bloodlust.

Blaze News reported last month that nearly 3 in 10 Democrats polled by RMG Research for the Napolitan News Service following the second attempted assassination of President Donald Trump indicated they would have preferred for Trump to have been slaughtered at his golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida.

The suspected would-be assassin who had waited for Trump at the golf course was himself a long-time Democratic donor. The would-be assassin who shot Trump in July was also an ActBlue donor.

Responding to Reid's suggestion, conservative columnist Joe Concha wrote, "Joy Reid can say this stuff because as management showed with the Ronna McDaniel debacle, there is no accountability and the power is with the so-called on-air 'talent.'"

Concha was referencing the vicious smear campaign waged earlier this year against Ronna McDaniel by Reid, Joe Scarborough, Mika Brzezinksi, former Biden White House press secretary Jen Psaki, and Rachel Maddow and other talking heads at MSNBC after NBC News announced it was hiring the Republican.

In response to Reid's comments about physically attacking Trump, Libs of TikTok tweeted, "2 ass*ss*nation attempts and Iran plotting to try to get Trump and Democrats are still calling for violence."

Blinken beclowns himself with op-ed hyping Biden-Harris strategy to deter aggression

Secretary of State Antony Blinken claimed in an op-ed Tuesday that the Biden-Harris administration has been successful in bolstering America's international image and geopolitical position as compared with four years ago.

Blinken's thesis and remaining credibility did not survive the day.

Within hours of publication, Iran — afforded access to billions of dollars by the Democratic administration despite its murder of American soldiers in Jordan — attacked Israel. Blinken, no stranger to humiliation, has since been met with widespread ridicule.

In the foreign affairs op-ed, Blinken claimed that when Joe Biden and Kamala Harris came into office, Russia, Iran, North Korea, and China "were already aggressively challenging U.S. interests" despite years of relative peace under President Donald Trump.

"These countries believed that the United States was in irreversible decline at home and divided from its friends abroad," wrote Blinken. "They saw an American public that had lost its faith in government, an American democracy that was polarized and paralyzed, and an American foreign policy that was undermining the very alliances, international institutions, and norms that Washington had built and championed."

According to the alleged architect of the misleading Hunter Biden "intel" letter that impacted the 2020 election, this Democratic administration has worked hard to successfully counter such perceptions with a "strategy of renewal."

"The Biden administration's strategy has put the United States in a much stronger geopolitical position today than it was four years ago," wrote Blinken.

'An end zone dance by Blinken as the world burns.'

The secretary appeared keen to gloss over, spin, or ignore various signals and causes of America's deteriorating position, deterrence, and perception over the past four years, including:

  • the illegal entry of over 10 million illegal aliens into the homeland;
  • the administration's botched withdrawal from Afghanistan and armament of the Taliban;
  • the Russian invasion of Ukraine;
  • military recruitment issues;
  • brazen attacks on American embassies and on troops;
  • routine attacks by Houthi terrorists on ships in the Red Sea;
  • the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas terror attacks on Israel;
  • growing Sino-Russian cooperation in the face of the Biden-Harris administration's failed sanctions;
  • North Korean missile launches over Japan and around Korea despite American warnings;
  • the continued rise of the communist Chinese-led intergovernmental organization BRICS; and
  • Saudi Arabia's increasing drift from the U.S. dollar.

"Time and again, the Biden administration has demonstrated that the United States is the country others can rely on to help solve their biggest problems," wrote Blinken.

The secretary suggested further that the Biden-Harris administration's strategy was geared toward deterring aggression, adding that, in the case of Iran, "we increased diplomatic pressure and strengthened the US military's force posture to deter and constrain Tehran."

Iran fired over 180 missiles through Blinken's propaganda about strength and deterrence on Tuesday, striking targets in Israel.

Israeli military spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari indicated that while the country's air defenses were able to take down numerous incoming missiles, some still managed to land in central and southern Israel, reported the Associated Press.

Responding to the suggestion online that "it took less than a day for it to age like milk," Donald Trump Jr. said of Blinken's op-ed, "Yikes."

Rep. Mike Waltz (R-Fla.) called Blinken "totally delusional."

"Secretary of State Antony Blinken wrote an oped *TODAY* about how great the Biden admin is on international relations and Iran," wrote Libs of TikTok. "We're on the verge of WW3 and we don't have a President. The entire administration is completely incompetent. Has anything aged so bad so fast?"

Conservative columnist Joe Concha tweeted, "Oh. Ok. An end zone dance by Blinken as the world burns. Great job everyone."

"Timing is the essence of comedy," wrote Federalist CEO Sean Davis.

Former Trump intelligence official Ezra Cohen noted, "This is Soviet-level cognitive dissonance from @SecBlinken."

Desperate to kneecap Justice Alito, liberal media try tying him to Bud Light boycott

The liberal media has once again launched a concerted campaign to besmirch the name of Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito and cast doubt on his impartiality in the forthcoming Jan. 6 cases. So far, this campaign — which has given fellow conservative Justice Clarence Thomas a respite from the media's usual attacks — has been as brazenly partisan as it has been toothless.

Having failed last week to land a decisive blow against the 74-year-old justice, critics scrutinized Alito's investment decisions Monday, seizing upon one in particular. While leftists believe they have found something "suspicious," it appears they have instead discovered a sound investment decision that might resonate with everyday Americans.

An American flag the left can care about

Last week, Obama hagiographer Jodi Kantor of the New York Times concern-mongered about a "'Stop the Steal' Symbol" allegedly displayed at Justice Alito's house after the 2020 election. By "'Stop the Steal' Symbol," Kantor apparently meant an American flag suspended upside down, which historically has signified distress in instances of threats to life or property.

According to the report, the offending symbol was briefly flown by Alito's wife, Martha-Ann Alito, "in response to a neighbor's use of objectionable and personally insulting language on yard signs."

'The flag was a clear violation of ethics rules ... and could sow doubt about Justice Alito's impartiality in cases related to the election and Capitol riot.'

Alito told the host of "Fox News Sunday," Shannon Bream, that a neighbor had a "F*** Trump" sign within 50 feet of where children await the school bus. When the justice's wife expressed concern about the sign, the neighbor allegedly "engaged in vulgar language, 'including the c-word.'"

— (@)

Citing so-called "experts," Kantor suggested that "the flag was a clear violation of ethics rules ... and could sow doubt about Justice Alito's impartiality in cases related to the election and Capitol riot."

Despite Alito telling the Times he had nothing to do with the flying of the flag and relaying his wife's rationale, Kantor leaned on a nameless neighbor's politicized interpretation and the insights of antagonistic "experts" to suggest that the justice's involvement in Jan. 6 cases may impact confidence in the court.

Democrats immediately seized upon the story, effectively confirming its ultimate purpose.

Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) said, "Justice Alito should recuse himself immediately from cases related to the 2020 election and the January 6th insurrection, including the question of the former President's immunity in U.S. v. Donald Trump, which the Supreme Court is currently considering."

Apparently following the same template, House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) said in a statement, "Samuel Alito should apologize immediately for disrespecting the American flag and sympathizing with right-wing violent insurrectionists. He must recuse himself from cases involving the 2020 election and former President Donald Trump."

The Times followed up its flag piece on Friday, this time with former Marshall Project activist Abbie VanSickle aiding Kantor in the hit.

Extra to building on the suggestion that Alito should recuse himself, the Times slammed Justice Thomas for not recusing himself from the Jan. 6 cases.

Just divestment

While Slate and other leftist blogs worked diligently over the weekend to transform the interpretation by one of Justice Alito's neighbors into a bench-clearing scandal, they did not appear to be any closer to prompting Alito to budge.

On Monday, Law Dork did its part to keep the campaign alive, publishing a blog post entitled, "Justice Alito sold Bud Light stock amidst anti-trans boycott effort."

CNBC and other mainstream outfits similarly carried the story, recycling the insight that Justice Alito allegedly ditched shares of Anheuser-Busch InBev after months of Americans boycotting Bud Light over its collaboration with a transvestic activist. The Daily Beast, like the New Republic, flagged the sale as "suspicious."

Citing a periodic transaction report in the Federal Judicial Financial Disclosure Reports database, Law Dork indicated Alito "sold at least some of his stock in Anheuser-Busch and bought stock in Molson Coors on Monday, August 14, 2023."

Justice Alito allegedly sold between $1,000 and $15,000 of AB InBev stock shortly after the company announced a 10% quarterly drop in sales in the U.S. and a sell-off of beer brands and after a sustained boycott of Bud Light over its celebration of Dylan Mulvaney's "365 Days of Girlhood."

The greater surprise might be that Alito held on as long as he did. After all, in previous months, Bud Light had ceased to be America's best-selling beer and even fell out of the top 10 ranking; analysts at global asset management firm Bernstein warned that Anheuser-Busch InBev should expect a "permanent 15% haircut"; and companies linked to Anheuser-Busch began to close down.

Despite the innocuity of this revelation, CNBC framed it thusly: "The transactions have bred fresh accusations that Alito, one of the high court's six conservatives, is engaging in or aligning with partisan politics, despite a recently adopted code of conduct that directs the justices to 'refrain from political activity.'"

Again, activists framed as experts were summoned to support the campaign.

Gabe Roth, executive director of leftist activist outfit Fix the Court, told CNBC, "This sale, given the timing and much like an upside-down flag, can be construed as a political statement."

"If the sale was in response to the Bud Light controversy last year, he might have an appearance-of-bias problem when it comes to future court cases related to trans rights," added Roth.

Democrats and their allies in the media have long attempted to neutralize Alito in the high court.

Weeks ahead of Alito dumping Anheuser-Busch InBev stock, Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee sent Chief Justice John Roberts a letter demanding that Alito recuse himself from Moore v. United States, a tax case on the Supreme Court's docket for the upcoming term.

Alito responded, "Recusal is a personal decision for each Justice, and when there is no sound reason for a Justice to recuse, the Justice has a duty to sit."

NYC Democrat asks 'where are the men' doing something about savage attacks on women. Critics tell her: On trial.

There has been a recent series of unprovoked, broad-daylight attacks on women in New York City. The savage assaults have prompted outrage, even among some Democrats.

One Democratic New York City councilwoman in particular asked why men were not altogether stepping up to address the issue. Critics swiftly provided Councilwoman Amanda Farías with one possible reason why: She and other leftists have cried foul when men have previously stepped into the breach.

The attacks

Blaze News previously reported that various women peacefully navigating Manhattan sidewalks have been viciously attacked in recent weeks. Halley Kate Mcgookin, a social media influencer, was apparently one of them.

Choked up and tear-soused, Mcgookin recently noted in a viral video, "I was literally just walking and a man came up and punched me in the face."

"Oh my God, it hurts so bad. I can't even talk," added Mcgookin.

Sarah Harvard, another recent victim, was on her way to a comedy gig on the Lower East Side on March 19 when she was attacked from behind.

"I was walking, and out of nowhere, BAM!" she wrote on X. "I almost fell over. The back of my skull throbbing in pain, brain feels rattled."

— (@)

At least one arrest has been made — 40-year-old Skiboky Stora of Brooklyn — but there appear to be multiple attackers.

Where have all the good men gone?

Amid mounting outrage over the attacks, the New York City Council's predominantly leftist Women's Caucus stated it was "deeply disturbed and concerned about widespread reports of attacks against women in New York City that have been confirmed by the NYPD."

"The Women's Caucus calls on the NYPD for an immediate and comprehensive investigation into these incidents with transparent updates to the public," continued the statement. "We are encouraging New Yorkers with similar experience to notify the NYPD to conduct a thorough investigation. Amid an alarming trend in violence against women, this kind of violence is reprehensible."

New York City Council Majority Leader Amanda Farías shared the statement, adding, "Where are the men calling this out?"

Handcuffed heroes

In May 2023, Jordan Neely, a 30-year-old homeless man with a history of criminal arrests, was said by witnesses to have threatened various passengers on a New York City subway train.

One witness told Fox News Digital, "I'm sitting on a train reading my book, and, all of a sudden, I hear someone spewing this rhetoric. He said, 'I don't care if I have to kill an F, I will. I'll go to jail, I'll take a bullet."

Passengers crewed on one side of the train to avoid Neely, especially after his alleged use of the words "bullet" and "kill."

"Why in the world would you take a bullet? Why? You don't take a bullet because you've snatched something from somebody's hand. You take a bullet for violence," said the female witness.

With women and men alike ostensibly in danger, former Marine Daniel Perry, then 24, did not simply call out the danger. He did something about it.

"The three main threats he repeated over and over was 'I'm going to kill you,' 'I'm prepared to go to jail for life,' and 'I'm willing to die,'" Penny later recalled.

The former Marine put Neely in a chokehold. Neely subsequently died.

The female witness said, "It was self-defense, and I believe in my heart that he saved a lot of people that day that could have gotten hurt."

Leftists such as Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (N.Y.) rushed to condemn Penny and paint Neely as a victim.

— (@)

Amanda Farías was among the loudest critics of Penny's attempt to restore order and protect women.

Farías tweeted on May 11, 2023, "I continue to be heartbroken and outraged by the death of Jordan Neely and the lack of justice. The @BLACaucusNYC stands together to demand justice for Jordan and to pay attention to the systems that failed him so we do not lose any more Black New Yorkers to senseless violence."

— (@)

Penny was ultimately indicted by a Manhattan grand jury of second-degree manslaughter. His trial is scheduled for October.

Backlash

Critics seized upon Farías' Thursday comment, noting her past contempt for the kind of New Yorker who might intervene if he saw a woman attacked randomly.

Christina Pushaw, an aide to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), was one of many who responded to Farías' question with a picture of Penny.

@CMAmandaFarias Why aren\u2019t men standing up against criminals who attack women in NYC? Great question\u2026
— (@)

One X user wrote, "'Where are the men calling this out?' On trial right now, that's where."

Second Amendment activist Dana Loesch wrote, "Ya'll jail them."

Michael Seifert, the founder and CCEO of the conservative Amazon alternative PublicSq., wrote, "They're all getting arrested like Daniel Penny."

Heritage research fellow Jason Bedrick responded, "NYC policies are doing this. Here's an idea: stop punishing the men who step up and help and stop releasing dangerous perpetrators awaiting trial."

The New York Post editorial board noted that while Farías is now desperate for police to do something about the trend of random attacks on women, she was previously desperate to kneecap the police.

The Post highlighted how Farías, when still a council candidate, underscored the need "to significantly divest from police precincts" and pledged to support "the reduction of NYPD's operating budget and partnering alongside the community to create real solutions and justice for New Yorkers."

Since taking office, she has made good on her anti-police promises, sponsoring the "How Many Stops Act," legislation that serves to stymie policing efforts. She also helped to override Mayor Eric Adams' subsequent veto attempt.

Republican NYC Councilwoman Vickie Paladino noted that a real fix to the problem Farías now seems to care about may require addressing the laws that allow criminals to prowl the streets freely.

"'Calling out' a problem isn't really going to do much unless it's followed up with solutions, and progressives are completely opposed to the solutions which actually work," wrote Paladino.

Report: Attacks on churches have skyrocketed in recent years — and the trend is accelerating

Attacks on churches in the U.S. have skyrocketed in recent years, and the trend appears to be fast accelerating, according to a new report from the Family Research Council.

The report, authored by Arielle Del Turco, director of the Center for Religious Liberty at the FRC, noted that between 2018 and 2023, there were at least 915 acts of hostility against American churches. These depraved actions have ranged from vandalism and arson to gun-related incidents and bomb threats.

The states that reportedly accounted for the greatest number of church-related hostilities in the six-year period were California, with 91 incidents; Texas, with 62 incidents; New York, with 58 incidents; and Florida, with 47.

Things appear to be getting much worse.

Between January and November 2023, there were reportedly at least 436 such attacks — eight times as many as there were in 2018 — such that 2023 ended up being the worst of all six years reviewed by the FRC.

The FRC observed 315 incidents of vandalism last year; 75 arson attacks or attempts; 10 gun-related occurrences; and 20 bomb threats.

Among the various documented instances of vandalism in 2023 was the January 2023 smashing of stained glass windows at Holy Nation Church of Memphis, Tennessee; the June shredding of Bibles and hymnals at the historically black Fowler United Methodist Church of Annapolis, Maryland; and the July inversion of crosses at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in El Paso, Texas, which was also slapped with satanic imagery.

In terms of arson, attacks ranged from small to massively destructive fires. The Easter Sunday fire set to Faith Lutheran Church in Cambridge, Massachusetts, for example, resulted in substantial damage as well the removal of the church's steeple.

Del Turco noted that "although the motivations for many of these acts of hostility remain unknown, the effect is unmistakable: religious intimidation."

The beheading of a statue of religious significance may, for example, leave congregants "disturbed and upset." Other acts of hostility may alternatively "cause congregants or church leaders to feel unsafe," thereby interrupting the normal work of the church, according the report.

"They send the message that churches are not wanted in the community or respected in general. Our culture is demonstrating a growing disdain for Christianity and core Christian beliefs, and acts of hostility against churches could be a physical manifestation of that," continued Turco. "Regardless of the motivations of these crimes, everyone should treat churches and all houses of worship with respect and affirm the importance of religious freedom for all Americans."

The report posits that the increase in hostility against churches may point to a "larger societal problem of marginalizing core Christian beliefs, including those that touch on hot-button political issues related to human dignity and sexuality."

While frequently targets for radicals on account of their congregants' fidelity to tradition, churches also appear to be a reflexive scapegoat for leftists and other extremists.

Radicals in the U.S. seized upon the 2020 death of George Floyd as an excuse to lash out at their perceived foes, which turned out in many cases to be Christians and their places of worship. Leftists did likewise in 2022 in the lead-up to and wake of the Supreme Court's Dobbs decision, attacking churches and pro-life pregnancy centers alike.

This reflex appears elsewhere in the West. For instance, in Canada, at least 68 churches were razed, desecrated, or vandalized in 2021 after activists, the northern nation's liberal media, and political elites hyped the mass graves hoax.

The hoax, fully embraced by the Trudeau regime, alleged that mass graves had been discovered at the sites of former Indian residential schools that had been administered by Christian groups. The claims, which were dubious to begin with, were subsequently debunked, but not before radicals torched Catholic and Anglican churches across the country.

Tony Perkins, president of the FRC and a former chair of the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom, said of the findings in the report, "There is a common connection between the growing religious persecution abroad and the rapidly increasing hostility toward churches here at home: our government's policies."

"The indifference abroad to the fundamental freedom of religion is rivaled only by the increasing antagonism toward the moral absolutes taught by Bible-believing churches here in the U.S.," continued Perkins, "which is fomenting this environment of hostility toward churches."

NYC man filmed hacking police with machete won't be charged with attempted murder

A deranged Brooklyn man was caught on film last week hacking at NYPD officers with a machete. Although wounded in the attack, the officers nevertheless managed to subdue the suspect.

This bloodletting was apparently not enough to convince a New York City grand jury to hold 40-year-old Jean Blain accountable for his alleged actions. While willing to hit Blain with some lesser charges, the jury decided not to indict him with attempted murder.

NYPD officers were called to an apartment on New York Avenue near Beverley Road around 3:20 p.m. on Jan. 22, following reports of a man acting erratically, reported the New York Daily News.

Officers reportedly spoke to Blain's family prior to engaging him.

The New York Post indicated that Blain has been arrested on at least three other occasions and has a history of emotional disturbances. In 2015, he was arrested for reportedly exposing his genitals to women in Times Square. On another occasion, he was arrested for allegedly stealing his neighbor's car.

Footage of the incident shows Blain, who reportedly also goes by "Insane Blain," beginning to freak out as officers calmly attempt to make the arrest.

"No! No! No!" roars Blain, still seated on his bed.

"Please be cooperative," responds one of the officers.

"You know what?" shouts Blain, sliding a hand under the sheets and grabbing a hidden machete. "F*** that."

The deranged man stands on the bed and raises the machete.

Someone off-camera yells, "Oh sh**, look out!" as Blain begins hacking repeatedly at the officers.

— (@)

Police indicated that Blain slashed a 40-year-old sergeant on the right side of the head. Another was slashed on the wrist while attempting to subdue the attacker. The third officer was reportedly struck by the machete on the shoulder.

The officers were taken to Kings County Hospital and have since been discharged.

Sources told the Post that Blain, who was ordered held without bail Wednesday, had allegedly slashed another victim two weeks earlier, cutting the victim's ear and hand just three blocks away in an unrelated, unprovoked attack.

The victim, Giovanty Guinea, told the Post, "I just went to get my coffee and he came out of the store."

"He asked me, 'What do you want?'" continued Guinea. "I didn't say anything and he just attacked me. I didn't know what to do. I just ran."

"I just want justice," added Guinea. "He tried to kill me. That's never happened to me before. And he tried to kill me."

Blain has not yet been charged in connection to Guinea's attack.

Despite his alleged history of violence and the distinct possibility that any machete stroke could have been life-ending, a grand jury decided during Blain's appearance in Brooklyn Criminal Court that he should be spared from attempted murder charges largely due to his supposed mental instability.

The Daily News noted he was, however, ultimately charged with assault, menacing, and weapon possession.

Vincent Vallelong, president of the Sergeants Benevolent Association, indicated in a letter to members that the grand jury "refused to indict him for Attempted Murder and were undecided on charges of Assault in the First Degree."

"This unbalanced justice system has created an unprecedented dangerous environment," wrote Vallelong. "Had the machete not been dull, we would have been attending at least one police funeral, possibly more. Why is this case not eligible for remand? Who takes responsibility if this deranged man harms or kills others while he is free awaiting trial?"

Vallelong stressed that New York City officials "have proven that they are clueless in how to address real-life daily dangers that so many New Yorkers are needlessly facing."

Blain is currently being held in psychiatric ward as investigators look into his alleged attack on Guinea.

Blain's apparent machete attack came just days before a mob of illegal aliens viciously assaulted NYPD officers. The migrant mob was released without bail shortly thereafter.

'Hit this b****': Police searching for driver heard in video cackling with female passenger while mowing down pedestrians

Police are searching for a driver who appears to have intentionally mowed down two pedestrians in North Seattle late last month. The barbaric vehicular attacks, reminiscent of the August rampage that claimed the life of a retired police chief in Las Vegas, likely left two victims with serious injuries.

SPD Chief Adrian Diaz referred to the dual hit-and-runs as "callous crimes," indicating the driver had targeted and struck pedestrians at random.

The first victim was struck around 1:50 a.m. near 107th and Aurora Avenue North. Police indicated surveillance footage showed a crowd of people tending to the victim, then ferrying her away in a car.

The second victim was struck from behind in a bus lane near the 9600 block of Aurora Avenue North. The Daily Mail indicated the victim had been in the lane because the sidewalk was closed for construction. Upon impact, the victim's body rolled off the hood of the car.

Detectives have reached out to nearby hospitals, reviewed 911 call records, and canvassed the area for witnesses, but have yet to locate the victims, whom the SPD suggested likely "suffered serious injury."

SPD spokesman Shawn Weismiller indicated the attacks may have involved two different cars, reported the Seattle Times.

Seeking help identifying the driver, the Seattle Police Department released a cellphone video taken inside the suspect's car during an attack as well as surveillance footage showing one of the attacks.

In the cellphone footage, a female passenger can be heard instructing the driver, "Hit this b****, hit this b****!"

The driver swerves to hit the female victim. After smashing into the woman, the suspect and his passengers cackle and curse the crumpled form shrinking in their rear view.

The cellphone video of the second incident once again captures the driver and his passengers laugh upon striking an unsuspecting pedestrian.

The New York Post indicated investigators found the cellphone footage uploaded to social media.

Hit and Runyoutu.be

The attacks left nearby residents Ellen Throneberry and Ethan Gunnel in a state of disbelief.

Throneberry told KIRO-TV, "It's like super messed up."

"It's horrific for sure," added Gunnel. "It almost seems like they think ... it's a joke or like they're doing it for fun, which is like pretty horrifying."

"I don't know what kind of person would think it's funny hitting people," said Gunnel.

Jzamir Keys and Jesus Ayala of Las Vegas appear to be two such people.

Keys and Ayala face possible life in prison after filming themselves allegedly murdering 64-year-old retired police chief Andreas Probst with a stolen car on Aug. 14. Like the suspects in the Seattle case, they too giggled with delight on camera while allegedly smashing into other cars, Probst, and a bicyclist before wrecking their ride.

Squires: Liberals hate Clarence Thomas because he represents the dignity and self-respect they try to steal from black America

Justice Clarence Thomas has been the target of vicious attacks from politicians and celebrities since Roe v. Wade was overturned last week.

Samuel L. Jackson referred to him as “Uncle Clarence,” and Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot yelled “F*** Clarence Thomas” at a recent Pride event. Hillary Clinton described him as a bitter and angry man, and random Twitter users have been calling him “n****r” with impunity.

None of this is surprising – or new. Clarence Thomas is frequently attacked by Democrats because he is the most conservative justice on the Supreme Court. His jurisprudence often stands in the way of their political agenda, especially when it comes to the issue of abortion.

That said, he is more than an ideological contrarian. He is an intellectual leader in the mold of Frederick Douglass and Booker T. Washington. All three men cared about the condition of black people in America and fought in their own ways for racial equality.

I have often described our current state of race relations as a symbiotic relationship between white liberals seeking absolution for sins they didn’t commit and black liberals seeking empathy for injustices they didn’t endure. Both groups hate Clarence Thomas because his life and legal writings expose their dirty little secret: The racial equality both groups say they are fighting for will never be achieved as long as black people are held to completely different standards of behavior and performance than others.

The actions of a white murder suspect are never attributed to his neighborhood, quality of schools, or broader economic forces, especially if his crimes are racially motivated. He receives no sympathy for his neo-Nazi ties just because he was raised to hate by an entire family of bigots. The same goes for other personal failings, whether they be poor academic performance or chaotic family life. He is judged as an individual for the crimes he commits. None of his social pathologies are explained in systemic, institutional, or environmental terms in the pages of the New York Times or the Atlantic.

Liberalism takes a much different approach when the main characters are more melanated. According to the left, virtually every negative social and economic outcome for black people is caused by some combination of white supremacy and government policy. A black gangbanger can be turned into a sympathetic figure when the pen writing his story is in the right hands.

The fact that homicide is the leading cause of death for young black men is attributed to redlining and inadequate school funding, as if poor black people have no choice but to shoot one another when they live in close proximity or don’t score 1600 on the SAT.

This is the heart of the liberal worldview on race. White people do things. Black people have things done to them. White people act with agency and self-determination. Black people receive pity and benevolence. White people are responsible for the sins of their grandfathers. Black people have no responsibility for the sins of our sons. A smirking white teen is the epitome of white rage and privilege. A black teen who carjacks someone is the victim of failed systems.

The notion that people of African descent are incapable of moral reasoning or emotional self-regulation was as common among slave owners in the antebellum South as it is today among NPR listeners – both white and black – on the Upper West Side. The former argued the issue was genetic. The latter believe it’s systemic. Both are driven by a self-aggrandizing mix of contempt and condescension.

Justice Thomas rejects this way of thinking, largely because he understands that a man without responsibility for anything in his life is no man at all. The only people in society allowed such an exemption are the young, the elderly, and the infirm. His dissenting opinion in the Grutter v. Bollinger affirmative action case begins by quoting Frederick Douglass’ response to abolitionists who wanted to know what should be done with free black people after emancipation.

The American people have always been anxious to know what they shall do with us. … I have had but one answer from the beginning. Do nothing with us! Your doing with us has already played the mischief with us. Do nothing with us! If the apples will not remain on the tree of their own strength, if they are worm-eaten at the core, if they are early ripe and disposed to fall, let them fall! … And if the negro cannot stand on his own legs, let him fall also. All I ask is, give him a chance to stand on his own legs! Let him alone! … Your interference is doing him positive injury.

Justice Thomas went on to affirm that he believes black people could “achieve in every avenue of American life without the meddling of university administrators.” He actually views black Americans as equal citizens made by the same Creator and endowed with the same rights – and responsibilities – as every other American, not a lesser client class in need of protection by benevolent racial allies.

One of the most under-discussed phenomena regarding the dissolution of the black family is its impact on self-image. The primary role of a father is to protect and provide for his family. That has been true since the beginning of time. Fathers also provide affirmation, and that intense desire to be told your life has value can be heard every time a black activist, pastor, politician, athlete, or journalist demands that a white person say “black lives matter.” Getting white people to submit to this type of ethnic extortion may feel empowering to the black radical as he raises a clenched fist in victory, but bigger government and better white people will never fill that void or convince him his life actually matters.

How can people complain about racist dog whistles while supporting artists who have been blasting messages of death, destruction, and degradation in their own communities for decades?

Why does a dispute between a white woman and a black bird-watcher in Central Park receive more national media coverage than the hundreds of black schoolchildren being shot and killed in their own neighborhoods each year?

Liberals who prioritize the thoughts, words, and actions of white people over those of black people believe in social hierarchy, not equality. Clarence Thomas is a living, breathing repudiation of this worldview.

I recently met Justice Thomas at a conference that brought together black conservative intellectuals, civil rights activists, educators, journalists, and community leaders. Speakers included Glenn Loury, Shelby Steele, Bob Woodson, Roland Fryer, and Jason Riley. The life and legacy of Thomas Sowell loomed large over the entire event.

I spoke briefly with Justice Thomas and expressed my respect and admiration for his work. I also told him I could not understand how someone who clearly believes that black people are fully capable of competing in every area of American social life could be viewed as a race traitor.

In many ways, the attacks on Justice Thomas are aimed at everyone who attended that conference. The viciousness of the insults is a signal to other black commentators, politicians, academics, and celebrities who have the nerve to take a position out of step with leftist orthodoxy.

The ultimate goal is to stifle speech and coerce conformity. Most black people would rather keep their opinions to themselves than be publicly skewered as sellouts. Clarence Thomas has dealt with these attacks for over 30 years. The man I met stood tall regardless of who he engaged. I didn’t sense the slightest curvature in his vertebrae.

In addition to his legal legacy and political impact, I predict Clarence Thomas will ultimately be remembered for fighting to conserve that which black and white liberals have conspired to steal from the black masses for decades: our dignity.
