Video: 4 juveniles brutally beat, rob elderly woman in San Francisco. When she tries to get away, they return — and beat and rob her again.

Surveillance video recorded the horrifying moments when four juveniles physically attacked and robbed a 70-year-old woman Sunday in San Francisco — one of them actually kicked her square in the face.

But when the terrified woman tried to get away and was unable to shut a door, the juveniles returned and beat and robbed her again.

What are the details?

The victim — who wanted to be referred to only as Mrs. Ren and was confined to a bed due to her pain from the brutally attack — spoke to KGO-TV so that viewers will be aware of dangers in the city, even in broad daylight.

Mrs. Ren told the station through an interpreter that the group asked her what time it was, and she recalled that she replied, "5 o'clock" and then showed them her watch because she wasn't sure they understood her.

"They search my body, and I quickly realize they're up to no good," Mrs. Ren told KGO, adding that soon, her attackers knew she had an iPhone 7.

Video Mrs. Ren's housing complex gave to police shows the suspects followed her into the elevator because she refused to give up her phone.

"They got really mad and pulled me down," Mrs. Ren told KGO, after which video shows one of the attackers kicking her in the face.

She added to the station that they punched her in the head several times, pulled her down, and repeatedly kicked her.

But when Mrs. Ren tried to hide in the hallway and was unable to close the door, the suspects returned yet again — and this time they were after her keys and decided to continue beating her, KGO said.

Mrs. Ren's daughter began to sob at that point of the retelling, the station noted: "I never expected this to happen to us ..."

What's more, both Mrs. Ren and her daughter can't sleep as a result of their trauma, KGO said.

Anything else?

Police told the station the department's Community Engagement Division is working with the family and offering resources so they can recover and heal. Those with information about the case can call the SFPD tip line at 415-575-4444, adding that the calls can be anonymous.

Asian man, 71, loses seven teeth in brutal daylight attack during which he was bitten, robbed, and dragged from car down street

A 71-year-old Asian and Latino man told KGO-TV he was grabbing a trash can from the curb in Oakland, California, last Wednesday when he noticed a car near the driveway.

So he asked the car's driver to move, the station said — and things got ugly.

What are the details?

The man — who didn't want to use his name — told KGO that upon making his request, a woman "pulled me from my back" and "pushed me toward the car."

The woman allegedly tried to steal the man's wallet and cellphone; and when that didn't work out, the man told the station "she bit me on my hand." Apparently the brutal act was meant to distract the victim, who told KGO the assailant "grabbed my neck and she pulled my necklace and took it."

The man told police he fell upon the vehicle — and was then dragged facedown for 10 to 20 feet, the station said.

Besides receiving cuts and bruises, the man lost seven teeth as a result of the attack, KGO reported.

"I love Oakland ... but not anymore," he told the station. During the interview, the man's hand shook while clutching a cane to support his already weakened legs.

'No one stopped'

A woman named Linda told KGO she and others saw the attack — but that she was the only person who helped the man.

Linda told the station that while the victim was "lying in the middle of the street" other drivers "just went around him and kept going. That was the thing that was the most shocking. No one stopped."

The man told KGO he wanted Linda to know how much he appreciates her help: "For being a good Samaritan to me ... I will forever be grateful to her."

And he added to the station that despite his fear, he felt the need to speak out: "I hope people will become more aware this is something happening right now. It's been happening for many years."

Anything else?

The victim's medical costs, including what's needed for dental implants, are mounting, KGO reported, adding that those who would like to contribute can do so through the nonprofit Oakland Chinatown Chamber Foundation which is handling the man's case as well as cases for other victims. Donations can be sent to 388-9th Street #290, Oakland CA 94607 or through their online PayPal site, the station said.

Suspect arrested in connection to hammer attack against pair of Asian women on NYC sidewalk

Police arrested a suspect in connection to a hammer attack against a pair of Asian women on a New York City sidewalk earlier this month, the New York Post reported.

The May 2 attack was caught on surveillance video.

What are the details?

Ebony Jackson, 37, who is homeless, was charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon, and menacing in connection to the incident, police told the paper.

The Post said the victims were walking on 42nd Street near 9th Avenue — an area known famously as Hell's Kitchen — around 8:40 p.m. when the suspect approached them and yelled, "Take off your mask!"

The suspect then struck one of the women in the head with a hammer resulting in a cut.

The suspect then appears to strike with the hammer at least three more times. Police told the Post one of the victims was hit on the left side of her face.

But video shows the hammer apparently is dropped and falls to the sidewalk.

And one of the victims picks up the hammer and appears to dare the attacker to try them again.

Amazingly the attacker — who loses both shoes in the melee — continues to jaw with the victims and appears to threaten to come at them again.

But the victims soon walk away from the scene as the attacker hollers and glares at them and puts her shoes back on.

Physical attacks against Asians have been spiking in New York City for most of 2021:

VIDEO: Attacker uses cement block to brutally beat two Asian women — and male bystander just feet away simply walks off

A pair of Korean woman were brutally beaten by an attacker who used a cement block to repeatedly strike them as they were trying to close their Baltimore store overnight Monday, WJZ-TV reported.

And the attack was caught on surveillance video.

What are the details?

John Yun — whose mother and aunt were the victims — told the station the attack was random and that they never saw their assailant before.

Surveillance video shows Yun's aunt walking to the front of Wonderland Liquor Store to close for the night, WJZ said, when a man on the sidewalk comes at her with a cement block and pulls her through the door back into the store.

A male bystander who appeared to have just made a purchase watches the attacker and victim hit the floor — but makes sure to stay clear of the struggle as he casually walks out of the store.

The attacker then begins hitting Yun's aunt in the head with the cement block while pinning her to the floor.

Yun's mother then steps in to help, and the attacker hits her in the head with the cement block also, WJZ said.

The victims manages to the push the attacker just outside the open door, but after Yun's aunt pulls off the attacker's mask, he repeatedly hits her in the face with the cement block.

Both women continue to fight back, however, and soon Yun's mother wrestles away the cement block from the attacker and appears to threaten him with it:

It appeared the fight continued on the sidewalk, but after a pedestrian stepped in to assist, the victims were able to get back inside their store.

Yun later told WJZ he was "so proud" of his mother and aunt for showing "courage" in the face of such a scary attack.

What happened next?

Shortly after the attack, Baltimore police arrested 50-year-old Daryl Doyles and charged him with two counts of aggravated assault, the station said.

Yun told WJZ his aunt and mother were taken to a hospital with severe injuries but are now at home recovering.

"They're in shock," he noted to the station. "My aunt got the worst of it: 30 stitches, bruising … it's so disheartening."

Yun added to WJZ that he's "feeling raged, of course" over the attack.

"It doesn't make sense why they would come here to make a living and be treated like this in a community that should ... embrace [them] because we've been here for over 20-something years," he added to the station. "We are a part of the community."

While Yun said he wants "justice" for his mother and aunt, he told WJZ he also wants the hate to end.

"Everyone is treated equally; there's not one person higher than another," Yun told the station. "So please, just stop all this hate, it needs to stop."

A GoFundMe page created to assist in the recovery of his mother and aunt has raised over $72,000 as of Thursday morning, well surpassing its $25,000 goal.

VIDEO: Unhinged man delivers flurry of unprovoked punches on Asian father — whose 1-year-old child sits in stroller just feet away

Surveillance video caught the moment an Asian man was punched, fell to the sidewalk, and then was hit with a flurry of about a dozen punches to the head and back, KPIX-TV reported.

And it all went down as the victim's 1-year-old child sat in a stroller just feet away in front of Gus's Community Market in San Francisco on Friday afternoon, the station said.

KPIX said the attack against the 36-year-old father came out of nowhere — and from behind.

San Francisco police told the station that officers were patrolling the area and immediately arrested 26-year-old Sidney Hammond who faces charges of assault, false imprisonment, and child endangerment. KGO-TV reported that Hammond was arrested less than a month earlier after an assault and for stealing at the same location.

Police added to KPIX that Friday's attack appeared to be random, and no words were exchanged.

The victim's child was unharmed, the station said.

A father's worst nightmare: 'I couldn't protect my child'

The victim spoke to KGO in the aftermath and said "my sense of security has been shattered."

Going only by "Bruce," the victim added the station that he was waiting to cross the street with his child when the attack commenced.

"I was right on the ground, and in that exact second I was trying to shield my head and prevent any worse injuries," he told KGO. "I couldn't protect my child. I was on the floor, and he was in a stroller that was slowly rolling away, so it's definitely very scary as a parent."

More from the station:

When asked if he thought the incident was racially motivated, Bruce said the thought did cross his mind, especially given the random nature of the attack and the number of attacks on Asian Americans in the past year.

The incident is shocking to nearby business owners, such as Nani Tsegaye of Tadu Ethiopian restaurant. She says her store location in Mission Bay has actually been broken into and robbed more times than their Tenderloin location, and that dealing with crime is the price of doing business in San Francisco.

"It was a heartbreaking experience," Tsegaye told KGO. "We just expect something to happen now more than we expected before."

Anything else?

The victim told the station he was speaking out to raise awareness and that he has a wish for the suspect: "That my attacker can be somewhere where he can't harm anyone else, or if he needs help he can get the help he needs."

Wife of NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio urges residents to 'physically intervene' in violent crime — just months after she got him to defund police

Chirlane McCray — wife of far-left New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio — is urging residents to "physically intervene" when they witness violent crimes taking place.

McCray's appeal, which she posted to Twitter on Saturday, comes amid a spike in violent crime, particularly against the Asian community:

"We're asking New Yorkers to show up for their neighbors and intervene when witnessing hateful violence or harassment," she wrote. "I know that can be frightening when you aren't sure what to do or say, but you can learn."

That ain't the half of it

One might call McCray's request a bit draw-dropping, particularly after the stabbing death of 46-year-old Yong Zheng — a husband and father — after he intervened in a Brooklyn robbery Feb. 26.

What's more, last June, McCray influenced her husband to shift funds from the New York Police Department's $6 billion budget to "youth initiatives and social services," the New York Post reported. She added to the paper: "I talked to my husband about it, and I encouraged him to find — help us find — ways to do that because you know, it's something I know from my heart."

Not to worry

All that being said, if you live in the Big Apple and are wondering what in the world you might be getting yourself into, put your anxiety to rest — because McCray said "fear is a normal feeling when stepping into a confrontation, but being prepared can help."

All you have to do, she wrote, is remember the "5 Ds," which are "easy to remember tactics that we can all use to de-escalate a situation." Check 'em out!

5. Direct: Respond directly to the aggressor or physically intervene and only after assessing the situation. Be con… https://t.co/hMmC95mMcd
— Chirlane McCray (@Chirlane McCray) 1615063029.0

McCray noted that the fifth D — "Direct" — urges you to "respond directly to the aggressor or physically intervene and only after assessing the situation. Be confident, assertive, calm. This is risky, but sometimes all we can do is speak up. If the harasser responds, try your best to focus on assisting the person targeted."

As you've probably figured out by now, McCray has some say-so about what happens in New York City, as de Blasio named her to co-chair the Task Force on Racial Inclusion and Equity and put her in charge of a Commission on Racial Justice and Reconciliation, the New York Post reported in a separate story.

What was the reaction to McCray's appeal?

As you might expect, the mayor's wife received some pushback on Twitter:

  • "It's almost like the city could hire professionals to do this sort of thing every day," one commenter wrote. "They could call them something, like, Watcherouters, or Helpers, or ... there must be a better word."
  • "I'm a taxpayer. If government is incapable of protecting its own citizens, why pay taxes?" another user asked. "Combating crime is not my job. That's the job of the police force. NY lawmakers, City Council, Mayor — responsible for the attacks and deaths by allowing repeat offenders back on the street."
  • "Do you want us to also build own our cages and imprison these criminals as well?" another commenter queried.
  • "You are an idiot, your husband is an idiot, and your governor is an idiot," another user declared. "What did you expect would happen? No citizen going to risk their life or risk being sued to stop crimes the cops are paid to do. Dumbass."
