Teen girl says father threatened her with 'honor killing' before allegedly trying to strangle her outside Washington state HS

A teen girl said her father threatened her with an "honor killing" before allegedly trying to strangle her outside a Washington state high school.

It all went down outside Timberline High in Lacey on Oct. 18, KOMO-TV reported. Lacey is a few minutes east of Olympia and just over an hour southwest of Seattle.

The girl’s mother, Zahraa Ali, also was grabbing at her daughter and choking her, KOMO said, citing court documents. Investigators told the station the girl’s father also punched her boyfriend.

The 17-year-old victim told investigators her father's "honor killing" threat came after she refused to go to another country for an arranged marriage with an older man, KOMO said, citing court records.

The station noted that she reportedly went to her school for help, which led to the confrontation outside the school.

Josh Wagner told KOMO he was driving with his family near the high school when he noticed what he thought was a group of kids fighting. But as Wagner jumped in to break it up, the station said he realized it was a man choking a girl.

“The dad was on his back, and his daughter was on top of him, and he had her in a choke hold,” Wagner explained to KOMO.

He added to the station that "it was pretty angering. I didn't know what was going on, why it was happening. All the kids were screaming, yelling.”

Court records state Ihsan Ali was choking his 17-year-old daughter “to the point where she had lost consciousness” as other students, including the girl’s boyfriend, tried to pull her away, KOMO reported.

“What I saw was the adult male had the teenager in a headlock, choking her from the back, so I removed his arm from her, and then she got up and ran with another kid, who [I] come to find out was her boyfriend, and she was the daughter of the adult male,” Wagner added to the station. “So then I just held him on the ground 'til the police arrived, and then [they] handcuffed him and searched him and then moved him to the police car.”

The girl’s mother, Zahraa Ali, also was grabbing at her daughter and choking her, KOMO said, citing court documents. Investigators told the station the girl’s father also punched her boyfriend.

Victor Barnes — whose son was one of the students trying to stop the attack — told the station that the girl's father punched his son "in the face" and then tried "to kill his daughter."

The girl soon got away and ran into the school screaming, “My dad was trying to kill me, he was trying to kill me,” which prompted a lockdown as school staff blocked the girl’s parents from getting to her, KOMO said, citing court documents.

The girl's parents were arrested and are facing criminal charges, including assault, attempted murder, and attempted kidnapping, the station said.

'A lot of these stories exist, a lot of these stories are out here, some aren’t able to be heard for whatever reason.'

The parents appeared in court Wednesday, the Chronicle reported — which then added the following additional details about the incident:

Court papers indicate the victim ran away from home the day before the attack and went to Timberline High School, where she was a former student, seeking help from staff. A counselor was assisting her with finding a room at Safe Haven and the victim planned to take a city bus there after school got out but was allegedly pulled off the bus by her father.

The mother's bail is set at $500,000; the father's bail is set at $1 million, the Chronicle noted, adding that both parents are in custody at the Thurston County jail. Their next hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. Dec. 4, the paper added.

“This isn’t right, and the more we continue to allow these types of actions to take place in a society where ... the climate is what it is right now, post-election, there's just no place for that type of activity anywhere,” Barnes told KOMO.

He added to the station that "a lot of these stories exist, a lot of these stories are out here, some aren’t able to be heard for whatever reason. I just want people to be aware these stories do exist.”

Barnes also told KOMO that issues with the Ali family had been going on for months — and a prior physical incident forced a temporary protection order against the mother, Zarhaa Ali. The station said court records indicate she also was banned from stepping upon school property after the prior incident.

KOMO reached out to the Department of Children, Youth, and Families to see if the agency is investigating the Ali family, but the station said it was told child welfare records are confidential.

Suspect charged with attempted murder after crazy video shows ATV driver ram into man as San Francisco cops look on

A terrifying video shows a crazy incident in which an ATV driver smashes into a pedestrian at a San Francisco gas station as police officers look on. The incident occurred all the way back in February, and a suspect was just arrested, authorities said.

On the night of Feb. 11 — the same day as Super Bowl LVIII between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers — Ariel Cruz went to the convenience store at a Gulf gas station following the game. However, a group of men driving dirt bikes and an ATV confronted Cruz.

'I just remember my head was split open.'

Both the group and Cruz were taunting each other.

KPIX-TV reported that officers with the Stunt Driving Response Unit were called to the gas station to tow a vehicle in connection with a separate case. After cops arrived, they attempted to quell the situation by yelling at both parties, but things only escalated.

The dirt bike riders and the ATV rider began circling the gas pumps, driving recklessly, and struck one of the officers in the face.

The ATV driver ran over Cruz, who was wearing a red 49ers jersey.

"I just remember my head was split open. I had staples in my head. My knee was really inflamed. I couldn't walk on it," Cruz told KTVU-TV. "My lip was busted on the inside and outside. I had like a slash on my lip."

Cruz told the San Francisco Standard that he suffered a concussion and couldn’t walk for more than a month, which left him unable to do his work as a painter.

The suspect ditched the ATV at the crime scene and fled on a dirt bike with a different male driving it.

On Tuesday, the San Francisco Police Department announced that they arrested a suspect believed to be the ATV rider.

The San Francisco Police Department General Work Detail with the assistance of the Community Violence Reduction Team investigated the incident that led to the arrest of 31-year-old Julian Alberto Ulloagomez on Aug. 29.

Ulloagomez was booked at Ingleside Police Station on charges of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer, and filing a false police report.

Jail records show Ullagomez remains in custody without bond. He's scheduled for an Oct. 15 court appearance.

"While these investigations can take time due to varying factors, investigators continue to work tirelessly to investigate and follow up on these incidents," the San Francisco Police Department said in a statement. "SFPD does not tolerate this dangerous behavior and reckless drivers, of any vehicle, will be held accountable."

Cruz said of the arrest, "I was happy about it, because like that day … next day … [it] could have been someone else's son. Very appreciative that they found him."

The incident is still under investigation.

The San Francisco Police Department is urging anyone with information to contact the SFPD at 415-575-4444 or text a tip to TIP411 and begin the message with SFPD.

Intense police bodycam video captures shootout with suspect who's later charged with attempted murder of 2 officers

Intense bodycam video Milwaukee police released last week captures a July 17 shootout between cops and a suspect who was later charged with attempted murder of two officers, WISN-TV reported.

On July 16 — the day before the shootout — 22-year-old Jayuntae Gregory shot two family members in their home, hitting one victim eight times in the body and wounding the other victim two times in the chest, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reported, citing a criminal complaint. The victims were hospitalized in critical condition, the paper said.

'Please don't kill [my] baby ... he shot my two cousins ... there he go.'

Police interviewed two of Gregory's brothers and his father, the paper said, adding that one of the brothers said Gregory fired a "Draco"-style rifle inside the house and that he suffered from mental health issues. The brother added to police that as Gregory ran out of the house, he told him he had "killed" the two family members, the Journal-Sentinel noted.

The criminal complaint included details about the next day's shootout at a gas station store located in the 4300 block of West Capitol Drive, the paper said. WISN said police received a call from the suspect's family reporting that he was at the location.

Gregory was inside the gas station store buying two bottles of water when officers arrived outside and encountered his father, who told officers, "Please don't kill [my] baby ... he shot my two cousins ... there he go," the Journal-Sentinel noted.

Officers shouted for Gregory to drop his bag and put his hands up, but instead he walked to the front door and asked, "Me?" the paper reported.

Gregory then retrieved the AK-47-type rifle from his backpack and took cover behind the store's merchandise, the Journal-Sentinel said.

Two officers entered the store and told Gregory to show his hands, but instead Gregory fired at the officers multiple times, prompting the officers to retreat, the paper said.

Gregory opened the door multiple times, the Journal-Sentinel reported.

Separate surveillance video outside the store shows the suspect just after the 10-minute mark appearing to exit the store and firing at officers.

The paper said officers shot Gregory when he attempted to run out of the store.

The suspect was arrested and taken to a hospital for treatment of nonfatal injuries, WISN said.

Gregory was charged with four counts of attempted first-degree intentional homicide, one count of first-degree recklessly endangering safety, one count of failure to comply with officers, and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon, the paper reported.

His next court date is scheduled for Aug. 16 when a doctor's report on his competency to stand trial is scheduled to be returned, the Journal-Sentinel said.

The officers were placed on administrative duty, WISN said.

You can view police bodycam video of the incident below. The suspect appears to fire shots at officers inside the store just after the 1:35 mark; the suspect appears to fire shots at officers while making a break from the store's front door just after the 7:35 mark. Content warning: Language:

'Babies on here': Man shot in the head with his own gun during brutal daytime battle on crowded NYC train

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) recently deployed 750 National Guardsmen and 250 additional officers from state-controlled law enforcement agencies to help curb crime on New York City's sprawling subway system. The presence of soldiers was evidently not enough of a deterrent Thursday to prevent a bloodletting on a busy train in Brooklyn.

A fight caught on tape broke out on a northbound A Train in Brooklyn that left one man riddled with bullets and a crowd full of commuters cowering in fear.

NYPD Chief of Transit Michael Kemper indicated during a briefing that shortly after a 32-year-old man entered a crowded train around 4:45 p.m., a 36-year-old man confronted him.

The older male was described by multiple witnesses as being "aggressive and provocative towards the 32-year-old that just got on."

Footage of the incident appears to show a black male in a yellow baseball cap mutter to himself, then walk over to the younger man, threatening to beat him up. At one point, the apparent instigator states, "You think you're gonna beat up cops?"

Someone off camera can be heard saying, "He thinks you're a migrant. He thinks you're an immigrant."

"F*** your kind. F*** your race. F*** you," said the instigator.

The younger man stands up to face his apparent aggressor and squares off for a fight, prompting nearby riders to begin pressing toward the far side of the train.

"There's babies on here," one woman can be heard yelling as the men begin to circle a post with their fists at the ready.

After a brief exchange of blows, the instigator takes the advantage, pinning the 32-year-old against a seat.

A masked woman who was previously standing beside the 32-year-old appears to dig into her purse, then stab the instigator repeatedly in the back.

The instigator looks over at the woman and shouts, "Did you stab me?"

"I didn't do nothing," the masked woman responds.

A bystander attempts to de-escalate and separate the two fighters, but the instigator, whose lower back is bleeding, continues accusing the woman of stabbing him.

"It became physical again and at some point the 36-year-old removed a firearm from his jacket," said Kemper. "He then took that firearm, started walking toward the 32-year-old who was on the train, yelling at him, walking toward him in a menacing way, and it became physical again between the two."

— (@)

During this final physical confrontation, the young man managed to get a hold on the gun and allegedly fired multiple shots. Kemper indicated the firearm used in the scuffle was a "small semi-automatic, maybe a .32 or a .25."

As melee unfolded, the train pulled into Hoyt-Schermerhorn Streets station, where multiple police officers heard the shots, then rushed into action.

The 36-year-old man was taken to Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in critical condition. The 32-year-old man was in custody as of Thursday night.

Footage taken after shooting shows commuters taking cover and police on the scene with guns drawn.

Forbes indicated that crime on the transit system increased 13.1% between January and March as compared with the same period last year. There were 388 incidents between Jan. 1 and March 3, the majority of which were grand larceny and felony assault.

On March 3, a teenage girl was brutally attacked at the 168th Street Station and a 64-year-old man was kicked onto the subway tracks at Penn Station. Days earlier, Spectrum News reported a man was randomly slashed with a box cutter near Penn Station.

Richard Henderson, a 45-year-old crossing guard and father of three, was gunned down in January after trying to break up a fight on the subway in Brownsville.

Last month, Obed Beltran-Sanchez, a 35-year-old man with no permanent address, was slain and several others were injured in a rush-hour shooting resulting from a dispute between two groups of teenage thugs at the Mount Eden Avenue subway station.

Teen girl in critical condition after horrific video shows high school student repeatedly bashing her head into concrete

A teen girl in Missouri is in critical condition after having her head repeatedly bashed into the concrete during a fight, according to horrific video and authorities.

The brutal fight video was widely shared on social media this weekend because of it being so extremely appalling.

KTVI reported, "One person is hospitalized with critical injuries after a fight Friday near Hazelwood East High School."

The outlet did not name the victim or the perpetrator of the violent crime.

Video of the confrontation shows two high school girls square off to fight in the middle of a street.

Within seconds, one student throws down the other teen girl to the pavement. She then unleashes a flurry of punches to the girl's face. When another female student attempts to intervene, she is attacked by other teenage girls.

After being punched at least a dozen times in the face, the more aggressive student then grabs the teen girl by the hair and repeatedly and viciously slams her head onto the concrete, according to the video.

The victim had her head violently bashed into the pavement at least four times.

The teenage girl is seen on video lying unconscious on the pavement and begins to go into convulsions after the monstrous attack.

The Missouri news outlet noted that there were no arrests in the horrific assault as of Saturday.

The St. Louis County Police Department is reportedly investigating the chilling beatdown.

A police department spokesperson told KMOV that there will be an update regarding the shocking attack on Monday.

The Hazelwood School District released a statement about the abominable fight video.

"It is a tragedy anytime children are hurt," the statement said. "Bullying and fighting in the community is an issue for which we all need to take ownership and work towards a resolution for the sake of our children. The Hazelwood School District offers our sincerest condolences to everyone involved and will offer additional emotional support from our support and crisis team to those in need."

"We look forward to continuing to partner with our community for the sake of our children. Please be kind and respectful of the families involved during this difficult time and pledge to help work toward the betterment of our entire community," the district added.

Vegas teen previously accused of gleefully mowing down retired police chief in stolen car charged in unrelated stabbing

Jesus Ayala of Las Vegas allegedly went on a murderous rampage with a friend in August — laughing maniacally on camera while running other vehicles off the road in a stolen vehicle, then mowing down 64-year-old retired police chief Andreas Probst.

New criminal charges filed on Jan. 19 indicate this monstrous bloodletting may not have been Ayala's first. Another victim has stepped forward, accusing Ayala of a crime that occurred in June 2023.

"Recently it came to our attention that [Ayala] allegedly was involved in an attempted murder case, a stabbing, so we charged him with crimes resulting in that," Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson told KSNV-TV.

Months ahead of Ayala's alleged August rampage, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department received a report that a stabbing victim whose torso and ear had been slashed multiple times walked into the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada on June 27, reported KVVU-TV.

Hospital records reportedly indicated that the victim, taken to the hospital by his roommate, suffered multiple stab wounds to the face and a stab wound to the back.

The victim told investigators at the time that two males ambushed him with brass knuckles, brutalized him, then left him lying on the ground without robbing him. A bloody knife was later found near the scene of the attack.

The victim later clarified in an interview with police that a male suspect first accused him of stealing something, then five individuals came over and began attacking him.

A witness confirmed to police on June 28 that five individuals ostensibly under the age of 18 participated in an "extremely violent" attack on the victim. The witness added that had the attack continued, the victim would surely have perished.

Ayala was later identified by a witness as one of the "big homies" involved in the savage June attack.

Cellphone records cited by police place Ayala in the area of the attack at the time of the stabbing, reported KSNV.

While the knife found at the scene of the crime reportedly did not come back with a "suitable print match" to Ayala, forthcoming DNA results may alternatively confirm who did the stabbing.

The victim ultimately identified Ayala from a photo lineup as his attacker on Sept. 19, 2023.

Ayala is scheduled to appear in in Clark County Justice Court on Feb. 28 for a preliminary hearing on the new attempted murder charge.

"Mr. Ayala is entitled to his day in court, he is entitled to have a good lawyer, he is entitled to cross-examine the witnesses, he is entitled to present devices on his own behalf, but at the end of the day we have a jury system and court jury will decide his guilt or innocence," Wolfson told KSNV. "We feel very confident in the strength of our case, we feel very confident that we will get justice for these victims."

"We have accused him of doing some pretty serious things. I mean open murder, you can't get more serious than that, and now an attempted murder charge," added Wolfson.

Ayala's other trial begins on Nov. 12.

Blaze News previously reported that Ayala was indicted by a grand jury in October for murder with the use of a deadly weapon; attempted murder with use of a deadly weapon; battery with use of a deadly weapon resulting in substantial bodily harm; and two counts of failing to stop at the scene of a crash involving death. The charges were enhanced because Probst, the former police chief of Bell, California, was a senior citizen.

Both Ayala and co-defendant Jzamir Keys were also slapped with felony charges of residential burglary, use of a deadly weapon, three counts of grand larceny auto, and three counts of possession of a stolen vehicle.

The duo appear to have filmed themselves driving a white sedan off the road on Aug. 14, then targeting Probst for slaughter. Ayala is believed to have been behind the wheel at the time.

In the video, one of the perpetrators can be heard asking the other, "Ready?"

The other responds, "Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Hit his a**," all the while laughing.

The duo proceed to run over Probst, leaving his crumpled body bleeding out on the roadside.

The vehicle Ayala allegedly used to kill Probst was found less than 10 minutes away from the crash site with blood streaked across its windshield.

After allegedly murdering Probst, Ayala and his compatriot are said to have stolen additional vehicles, then crashed them into one another for fun near a shopping plaza.

Police found another video on Ayala's cell phone allegedly showing the duo also driving into a 72-year-old man on a bicycle, then roaring with laughter. The other cyclist survived the attack.

While ineligible for the death penalty, Ayala faces a maximum of life in state prison.

Christian leader in critical condition after being shot in head preaching: 'People are following darkness instead of light'

A beloved religious leader was shot in the head Wednesday night while preaching the gospel in Glendale, Arizona.

Hans Schmidt, a young father and outreach director for the nondenominational Victory Chapel First Phoenix, was standing at the northwest corner of 51st and Peoria avenues with his megaphone, quoting scripture and preaching to passersby ahead of an evening service. Around 6 p.m., someone evidently pulled a gun on him, reported AZFamily.

It's unclear whether the shooter attempted the apparent assassination on foot or from a car.

KNXV-TV indicated police initially were dispatched to a hospital following reports that someone had been assaulted, but they soon discovered the victim had been shot.

The Victory Chapel revealed in a statement Thursday, "Hans was taken to the ER where they discovered he had been shot after conducting a CT scan. He began seizing and was intubated. There has been some movement; however, physicians are uncertain how much is voluntary and began draining fluid from his brain. He remains in critical condition, please continue praying."

Zulya Schmidt, the victim's wife, noted in a Meta post, "Believing God has the final say. I love you so much babe."

Henry Branch, a nearby resident, said, "Who knows why someone would want to take it out on a preacher like that because he's speaking the gospel and good news to everybody. He's out to help the community."

KSAZ-TV indicated that following the shooting, police told nearby business owners to clear out, including the titular owner of Jesse James Comics.

"It's something where they preach so much on this corner, and it's such a congested area," said James. "I always thought they might get hit by a car. I didn't know they would be shot."

Paul Sanchez works nearby and recalled occasionally seeing people drive by, cursing and screaming at Schmidt as he preached. However, Sanchez said the preacher never responded with hostility.

"There was a slurry of everything, really. I mean, hateful comments, people yelling at him, 'Just get off the street.' All sorts of mean things," Sanchez told AZFamily.

Larry Dettman, a congregant who learned during a church service Wednesday night from Pastor Gary Marsh what had befallen Schmidt, said, "Out of nowhere, how does this happen? You know, there's some evil people in this world that have got a bunch of human junk in their life and they take it out on somebody else."

"People are following darkness instead of light," continued Dettman.

As of Thursday, police were still investigating and had not yet arrested a suspect.

Manhunt under way for Nashville police chief's 'estranged' rapist son, who is suspected of shooting two officers

Metropolitan Nashville Police Chief John Drake's estranged son is suspected of shooting two cops outside a Dollar General store on Saturday. A manhunt is now under way for 38-year-old John C. Drake Jr., whom the La Vergne Police Department has indicated is considered armed and dangerous.

The MNP chief stressed that his son "needs to be found and held accountable."

According to the LVPD, the shooting occurred at 2:23 p.m. in La Vergne, Tennessee. Officers were investigating a report of a possible stolen vehicle when they encountered the suspect outside a Dollar General. The encounter went sideways, resulting in a physical struggle. The suspect ultimately pulled a handgun and shot officers Ashley Boleyjack and Gregory Kern.

One officer was struck in the rear left shoulder. The other was hit in the right groin. Both officers were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and are now in stable condition.

Following the shooting and until midnight Saturday, the LVPD advised residents to shelter in place.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation issued a statewide Blue Alert for Drake Jr., noting he is wanted for two counts of attempted first-degree murder.

— (@)

Drake Jr. appears to have an extensive criminal record, having been hit with nearly 60 criminal charges in Davidson County since 2005. He has been convicted of numerous crimes, including aggravated assault, aggravated burglary, rape, multiple sex offender registration violations, and felony strangulation.

The MNP chief said in a statement Saturday, "I am shocked and deeply saddened to learn that my estranged son, with whom I have had very minimal contact over many years, is the suspect in this afternoon's shooting of the two La Vergne police officers. My thoughts and prayers are with the two officers, who I understand are now in stable condition at Vanderbilt."

"Despite my efforts and guidance in the early and teenage years, my son, John Drake Jr., now 38 years old, resorted to years of criminal activity and is a convicted felon," continued Chief Drake. "He has not been a part of my life for quite some time. He now needs to be found and held accountable for his actions today. I hope that anyone who sees him or has information about him will contact law enforcement immediately."

The Tennessean indicated that Nashville Mayor Freddie O'Connell has reiterated his support for Chief Drake in the aftermath of the shooting.

"My heart goes out to Chief Drake, his family, and the two wounded LaVergne police officers. I know that despite our best efforts — including in their early years — we can’t be responsible for the choices of family members," O'Connell said in a statement. "I support Chief Drake and stand by him at this difficult time."

Chief Drake previously made headlines for doubling down on his support for gun control after a female transvestite LGBT activist slaughtered three children and three staff at a Christian elementary school in Nashville, reported the New York Times.

Victim 'miraculously' expected to survive having a flagpole planted in his head by convict — but may lose an eye

The victim of a brutal attack Wednesday in Oklahoma "miraculously" survived a flagpole through his head, but is expected to lose one eye.

According to the Tulsa Police Department, officers responded to the Sonic Drive-In on 81st Street South around 7:30 p.m. following reports of a stabbing.

They arrived to find a man with a flagpole planted in his head, still flying the Stars and Stripes.

Police indicated the pole had pierced the victim's head "beneath his jaw and exited the other side of his head near his right temple area."

Witnesses claimed they saw Clinton Collins charge the victim with the flagpole, then thrust it through his head.

Collins allegedly said, "That's what he gets. He deserved it."

TPD officer Danny Bean told KJRH-TV, "Like you’d see in a TV show or a horror movie, ran at him and stabbed him through the head. ... Went through the bottom and out through the other side."

Tulsa firefighters reportedly had to cut off a section of the flagpole in order to fit the conscious victim inside the ambulance.

The TPD said the victim is expected to "miraculously" survive his injuries, "but will likely lose an eye."

Collins, reportedly a member of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation, hung around until police arrived on the scene. He was arrested for allegedly maiming after former conviction of a felony, which could land him with more than life in prison.

Tulsan Tristen Catlin told KJRH that over the weekend, she saw a preview of what was to come at the Tulsa Hills shopping center.

"As we pull in, we just see him charge at the man who was sitting on the ground by the McDonald's," said Catlin.

The man she suspected may have been Collins was "doing a stabbing action over and over and the guy stood up and was trying to get him to go away," said Catlin.

Catlin indicated she was shocked to see the same man in the news days later and to learn that he had allegedly followed through with his threat.

The Associated Press reported that owing to Collins' Indian status and a 2020 Supreme Court ruling barring Oklahoma prosecutors from pursuing criminal cases against tribal citizens in various parts of the state, it is presently unclear whether he will be tried in tribal court or U.S. District Court.

The U.S. District Court in Oklahoma had reportedly not listed a case against the suspect as of Thursday afternoon.

Disturbing video shows Toronto subway riders look on as bleeding man is chased down by knife-wielding maniac: 'He's stabbing him up!'

A man in his 30s was stabbed multiple times on a Toronto subway train around 12:23 p.m. on Thursday. This brazen midday attack is the latest in a spate of bloodlettings on the city's transit system in recent months.

It's unclear what precipitated the initial altercation, but following a brief exchange of blows, the suspect can be seen brandishing a blade in footage of the attack.

The victim attempts to drive the suspect back with a kick and a flurry of defensive punches, but upon catching at least one stab to the side, begins to retreat, trailing blood and yelling "help, help."

Other passengers look on with mild concern as the bloodied man runs by with the suspect closing in behind him.

In a longer video of the incident, a woman can be heard saying, "Somebody help him! ... He's stabbing him up! ... He's killing him," as passengers belatedly stampeded away from the attempted butchery.

Another rider can be heard panicking, saying, "I can't get off the train."

Here is the graphic video of the incident:

— (@)
The Toronto Police Service indicated that the train was traveling toward the city's downtown when the suspect "stabbed the victim multiple times."
Upon the train's arrival Eglinton station, the suspect fled. His victim was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Toronto police indicated that by 5:30 p.m. Thursday evening, the victim's condition had stabilized, reported Global News.

Duty Inspector Michelle Olszevski told reporters, "This was an isolated incident and it appears there was a verbal disagreement between the suspect and the victim prior to the stabbing occurring. Whether or not they are known to each other I didn’t know," reported CP24.

Police have released an image of the suspect, who they indicated is in his mid- to late twenties, 5'10", with a thin build and a shaved head. He is wanted on suspicion of attempted murder.
— (@)

The Toronto Transit Commission said in a statement, "Our thoughts are with the victim at this uncertain time. Safety of our customers and employees is paramount to all we do."

TTC service at Eglinton station did not resume for seven hours.

The Toronto Star reported that there have been a number of stabbings and assaults on the city's transit system in recent weeks.

On June 2, a man was stabbed at Kennedy station in the city's east end. Five suspects were arrested, all between ages 12 and 15.

Earlier the same day, a man attacked another passenger without provocation, putting the victim in a "choke hold and causing injuries" on a TTC bus at Kennedy Road and Sheppard Avenue East.

On May 27, a young man was brutally stabbed at the Downsview Park subway station.

On March 26, a 22-year-old homeless man was charged with first-degree murder after allegedly fatally stabbing 16-year-old Gabriel Magalhaes in an unprovoked attack at Keele station. A day later, a man was stabbed on a TTC bus at Keele St. and Donald Avenue.

According to the Toronto Police Service, crime is up significantly this year: Assaults are up 16.8%; auto thefts, 39.1%; home invasions, 13.1%; thefts, 29.1%; and sexual violations, 12.7%. There have been 31 murders so far this year.
