Hunter Biden indicates Joe Biden was the 'big guy' referenced in email about China business deal

Hunter Biden testified before Congress Wednesday as part of the Biden impeachment inquiry, providing lawmakers with a number of damning insights into his foreign business dealings. One insight may prove especially damaging to President Joe Biden, better known to the first son's former business associates — and now the world — as "the big guy."

Quick background

Emails discovered in the trove of unsettling materials on Hunter Biden's laptop prior to the 2020 election — strategically cast as Russian disinformation by intelligence community alumni and other Biden boosters — implicated then-Vice President Joe Biden in some of his son's shady business dealings overseas, particularly those in China and in Ukraine.

Two emails in particular prompted concerns about Joe Biden's involvement in potentially compromising schemes overseas: a 2015 email from Burisma executive Vadym Pozharsky thanking Hunter Biden for giving him an opportunity to meet and spend time with the vice president; and a May 2017 email outlining a business deal between the Biden family and a now-defunct Chinese energy company linked to the communist regime.

In the latter email, James Gilliar, one of Hunter Biden's former business partners, touched on the formation of a new company for a joint venture with CEFC China Energy Co. and discussed how they would divvy up equity in the business.

Gilliar along with email recipients Tony Bobulinski, Rob Walker, and Hunter Biden would apparently each get 20% shares in the business. "Jim," referencing Joe Biden's brother James, would receive 10%.

Gilliar then posed the question of whether the remaining 10% would be "held by H for the big guy?"

Even though Bobulinksi, Hunter Biden's former business partner and a U.S. Navy veteran, confirmed years ago that "the big guy" referenced Joe Biden, the president has long maintained he was never involved in his son's dealings.

Biden's denial has not aged well.

The 'big guy'

During his deposition Wednesday, which lasted over six hours, Hunter Biden was presented with a copy of the May 13, 2017, email and asked, "Have you seen this email before?"

"I have. I've seen it, I think, as we all have, 8,642,300 times," replied Hunter Biden.

The questioner skipped right to the bottom of the email, noting, "It says, 'At the moment, there's provisional agreement that the equity [in Oneida] will be distributed as follows. ...20 to H,' which presumably is yourself. Is that correct?"

Hunter Biden answered in the affirmative, then confirmed the other shareholders referenced in the scheme were Walker, Gilliar, Bobulinski, and James Biden.

"And then '10 held by H,' which would be you, 'for the big guy,' which presumable is your dad, correct?" asked the questioner.

Hunter Biden proved evasive, saying, "All I know this is, is that, number one, there's only one agreement that includes Tony Bobulinski, that is executed and signed by me. There's only one message that I had as it relates to any involvement that I had with Tony Bobulinski, James Gilliar, my uncle, and Rob Walker, and it did not involve my dad."

The first son suggested that the ultimate breakdown was for 20 points apiece for Bobulinski, Gilliar, James Biden, Walker, and himself. "Nothing do with Joe Biden," added the first son.

Much later in the deposition, Hunter Biden was asked, "The reference to the big guy, you would agree, is a reference to your father?"

"I truly don't know what the hell that James was talking about," Hunter Biden said, referring to Gilliar. "All I know is what what actually happened."

After stressing that his father has "never been involved" in or benefited from his business — a suggestion the House GOP indicates it has ample evidence to refute — Hunter Biden characterized the "big guy" comment as wishful thinking.

"I think that it was pie in the sky. Like, 'Joe Biden's out of the office. Maybe we'll be able to get him involved.' Remember, again, is that Joe Biden, for the first time in 48 years, is not an elected official and is not seeking office. And so James is probably like, wow, wouldn't be great if a former vice president could be in our business together?" said Hunter Biden.

Despite initially casting doubt on whether the "big guy" was his father, Hunter Biden indicated he shut down the notion of his father's involvement after Gilliar's suggestion.

Hunter Biden suggested he told Gilliar, "You're out of your mind. My dad knows less about doing cross-border blah, blah, blah, than he does about — I mean, it's just ridiculous."

Play along with Glenn Beck in a game of two truths & a lie – discover just HOW outrageous the world has become

Glenn Beck has been on vacation. And good for him. Surely we can all agree he deserved a respite from the chaos he’s constantly submerged in.

But here’s an interesting detail: While away, Glenn avoided ALL news. He didn’t watch anything, read anything, discuss anything. He just rested and spent time with his family.

But he’s back now, and he joins Stu Burguiere in a game of two truths and a lie to learn what all he missed while traveling.

Let’s see if your decoding skills are on par with Glenn’s.

Most of us can remember the game from grade school: Three statements are given, two of which are true and one of which is false. The contestant must guess which of the three statements is the lie.

Round one begins, and Stu presents three headlines:

1. “Biden laughs off ‘damning evidence’ in House GOP investigation, says ‘Where’s the money?’”

2. “Paramount secures movie rights to Hunter Biden memoir ‘Beautiful Things’ in bidding war.’”

3. “Biden says he plans to build a ‘railroad from the Pacific all the way across the Indian Ocean.’”

Glenn guesses correctly for round one.

The game continues, with Glenn and Stu covering an astonishing range of topics, including a Joe Biden scandal involving Eva Longoria, an accidental rug factory bombing in Syria, sexually explicit books in California schools, Chinese spies, and drag queen nuns, just to name a few.

Although the game is certainly entertaining, it reveals a dark truth about the world we live in. The fact that it’s remarkably challenging to identify the false statement indicates the lunacy and chaos that characterize the world today.

“All three of those are absolutely believable,” Beck says during one round of the game.

To test your knowledge and discernment, play along with Glenn in a game of two truths and a lie. Watch the video here.

And by the way, the answer to round one is #2. Paramount does not own the rights to produce Hunter Biden’s memoir. Yet.

‘Such A Dumb Question’: Biden Dismisses FBI Informant File That Referred To Him As ‘Big Guy’

'Why did the Ukraine FBI informant file refer to you as the 'Big Guy,' Mr. President?'

White House officials won't confirm whether the president has discussed pardoning Hunter Biden

On Thursday, White House officials refused to discuss whether there had been internal conversations about President Joe Biden pardoning his son Hunter or brother James should their foreign business dealings land them in legal trouble.

The Washington Examiner reported that when asked about this, White House communications director Kate Bedingfield said, “That’s not a hypothetical I’m going to entertain. I don’t have anything to add.”

When asked about the president’s knowledge of his son’s and brother’s complicated international business dealings and financial interests, Bedingfield provided reporters roundabout answers and avoided engaging with the questions posed.

One reporter asked, “Is it your understanding it’s the president’s view that as he looks at all of Hunter Biden’s business dealings with his uncle, neither Hunter Biden nor James Biden committed any crimes or did anything that was unlawful?”

“We pointed to statements that were made in the fall of 2020 when we addressed these questions,” Bedingfield replied. “I don’t have anything additional to add from this podium.”

Since 2018, Hunter Biden has been under federal investigation to see whether he, or his business connections, broke tax law, laundered money, or broke foreign lobbying laws in holding meetings and conducting business in places such as China and Russia.

Hunter Biden denies any wrongdoing and has not currently been charged with any crimes.

The US Attorney’s Office in Delaware, however, is seeking grand jury testimony concerning income he received from foreign entities, notably while he was serving on the board of Burisma, a Ukrainian natural gas company.

The federal prosecutors are also reportedly investigating Hunter’s drug and alcohol abuse, his frivolous spending habits, and his state of mind in 2018 to determine what sort of defense he would make in a potential criminal tax case.

Recently, both the New York Times and the Washington Post published pieces acknowledging the validity of Hunter’s infamous laptop. For months, leftwing legacy outlets suppressed stories about Hunter’s laptop.

In October 2020, when the New York Post first reported on the contents of the laptop’s hard drive, the story was smeared as “Russian disinformation” by prominent legacy outlets. Then-candidate Joe Biden used these reports as a shield to dismiss questions regarding his involvement n Hunter’s questionable business dealings.

However, now that the legacy media now longer has an aversion to investigating Hunter’s laptop, for whatever reason, the Washington Post has confirmed that a Chinese energy conglomerate paid $4.8 million to entities controlled by Hunter and his uncle, James Biden.

Most of these details were reported and confirmed in several outlets *before* the 2020 election -- as opposed to now when it's safe to say it -- but they were censored by Twitter and FB based on the CIA lie spread by most corporate outlets that it was "Russian disinformation."https://twitter.com/washingtonpost/status/1509185932867551239\u00a0\u2026

There is little remaining disagreement about the authenticity of Hunter’s laptop or the content on its hard drive.

However, it remains to be seen whether the shady business dealings discussed on his laptop can be tied to the president.

New book substantiates claim Joe Biden was the ‘big guy’ in shady Chinese deal, expected a 10% cut

A new book detailing the Biden family's array of controversial overseas business dealings provides fresh insight into an infamous meeting the family held with Tony Bobulinski, during which President Joe Biden allegedly greenlit a deal with Chinese business magnates and secured a 10% cut of the venture.

What are the details?

In "Laptop from Hell," New York Post columnist Miranda Devine uses a massive cache of files obtained from Hunter Biden's abandoned laptop to reconstruct the meeting, which took place in 2017 at the Los Angeles Beverly Hilton hotel.

According to an excerpt of the book published by the Post on Sunday, Biden was scheduled to speak at the Milken Institute Global Conference. But in his downtime, he allegedly joined his son, Hunter, and brother, Jim, for a meeting with their prospective business partner Bobulinski to offer a go-ahead for the deal.

On May 2, 2017, at around 11 p.m. Biden — then just months removed from serving as vice president — sauntered into the Beverly Hilton lobby to vet Bobulinski.

Prior to the meeting, Devine wrote, Jim Biden explained to Bobulinski that the meeting would be strictly "high level." Hunter Biden added, “We will not go into any detail about the business. I just want my dad to be comfortable with you.”

During the ensuing meeting, Joe Biden and Bobulinski shared their backgrounds, got acquainted with one another, and spoke in generalities about the prospective deal with now-defunct Chinese government-linked energy conglomerate CEFC China.

It reportedly went well and resulted in Biden saying, “My son and my brother trust you emphatically, so I trust you.”

What else?

In the book, Devine explained that Biden was the "final decision-maker" and that "nothing important was done without his agreement."

And so, with Joe's approval, the plan to incorporate SinoHawk Holdings LLC moved forward. It would be a global investment firm kick-started with $10 million in Chinese money split 50/50 between Biden's business group and CEFC Chairman Ye Jianming.

The book's excerpt outlined a pivotal email obtained by the Post last year that detailed the “remuneration packages” for six individuals involved in the Biden family's business consortium.

In the email, James Gilliar outlined a "provisional agreement" for the distribution of equity that included "20" for "Jim," "20" for "H [Hunter]," and "10 held by H for the big guy?”

Bobulinski would later report that the "big guy" mentioned in the email was unquestionably Joe Biden, noting that Hunter would often call his father "the big guy" or "my chairman" in verbal and written communication.

Anything else?

According to Devine, in a follow-up meeting with Jim Biden, Bobulinski was warned to keep Joe Biden away from the details of the deal so that he could publicly claim "plausible deniability."

The family was allegedly "paranoid" about someone mentioning Joe Biden's involvement, apparently fearing that his connection to unsavory dealings could tank his chances at the presidency.

During the 2020 presidential election, Joe Biden claimed that he "never spoken to [his ]son about his overseas business dealings."

Trump to bring Hunter Biden's former business partner to final debate as his special guest

President Donald Trump will reportedly have Hunter Biden's former business partner, Tony Bobulinski, as his special guest at Thursday night's presidential debate. Much like he did in the 2016 presidential debates, Trump will attempt to use his special guest to gain a psychological edge against his opponent.

President Trump has allegedly invited Bobulinski, the former business associate of Joe Biden's son, Hunter. Bobulinski became a potential factor in the 2020 presidential election this week when he came forward to confirm that the New York Post's report on Hunter Biden's overseas dealings with a Chinese energy company is "genuine."

Bobulinski became a possible thorn in the side of Joe Biden after he claimed that the "big guy" named in an email about a business venture with Shanghai-based CEFC China Energy Co was, in fact, the Democratic presidential nominee.

"Hunter Biden called his dad 'the Big Guy' or 'my Chairman,' and frequently referenced asking him for his sign-off or advice on various potential deals that we were discussing," said Bobulinski. "I've seen Vice President Biden saying he never talked to Hunter about his business. I've seen firsthand that that's not true, because it wasn't just Hunter's business, they said they were putting the Biden family name and its legacy on the line."

Joe Biden has repeatedly said that he has "never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings."

Bobulinski, who is a former wrestler at Penn State University, said he's "not a political person." "What few campaign contributions I have made in my life were to Democrats," he told the New York Post.

"I don't have a political axe to grind; I just saw behind the Biden curtain and I grew concerned about what I saw," Bobulinski said. "The Biden family aggressively leveraged the Biden family name to make millions of dollars from foreign entities even though some were from communist controlled China."

"I myself served our country for 4 years and left the Navy as LT Bobulinski," he said. "I held a high level security clearance and was an instructor and then CTO for Naval Nuclear Power Training Command."

Following his stint in the military, Bobulinski became an institutional investor who invested "extensively around the world and on every continent."

He is the CEO of Sinohawk Holdings, which he said "was a partnership between the Chinese operating through CEFC/Chairman Ye and the Biden family."

Bobulinski is reportedly cooperating with an investigation into Hunter Biden's overseas dealings that is being led by U.S. Senate Homeland Security Committee Chairman Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.). Bobulinski allegedly handed over a trove of emails, text messages, and documents showing Hunter Biden's dealings with the now-bankrupt Chinese energy corporation to the U.S. Senate committees who are investigating Hunter Biden's overseas business ventures.

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, and Johnson are said to be interviewing Bobulinksi on Friday, according to Fox News.

"As part of the committees' efforts to validate the authenticity of recently publicly released emails involving the Biden family's international financial entanglements, we sent letters to five individuals identified in the emails. Those letters were sent yesterday, and the deadline is October 23, 2020," Johnson and Grassley said in a statement. "So far, the committees have received a response only from Mr. Tony Bobulinski, who appears to be willing to fully cooperate with our investigation."

Trump weaponized special guests at the 2016 presidential debate to try to rattle Hillary Clinton. His special guests in 2016 were women who accused Bill Clinton of sexual assault: Kathleen Willey, Juanita Broaddrick, and Paula Jones. Trump held a pre-debate press conference with the three women as well as Kathy Shelton, whose rapist was defended by Hillary Clinton in 1975 when she was a lawyer. The women were in the audience during the presidential debate.

Also in 2016, Trump invited Malik Obama, Barack Obama's half-brother, as his guest to the third presidential debate.

At the first presidential debate this year, Trump's guests were Alice Johnson, a criminal reform advocate who was serving a life sentence in prison before Trump commuted her sentence in 2018; and Ann Dorn, the widow of former St. Louis police captain David Dorn, who was fatally shot in June while protecting his friend's pawn shop during riots.

The final presidential debate will take place at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, will run from 9 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. ET on Thursday.
