Why single women don't vote Republican (and probably never will)



While many Republicans blame Donald Trump for the lack of female support in their party, women’s blue voting patterns began far before his reign.

And Steve Deace has the receipts.

As early as 2004, John Kerry polled at 18+ points more with unmarried women than George Bush, who polled at 10+ points more with married women.

The trend continued with each election up until 2020, with the only exception being Hillary Clinton polling at 2+ points more than Trump with married women and 29+ points more with unmarried women.

“This is the spiritual condition of unmarried women because this is driven all by one particular issue: unmarried women just want to be able to kill their children whenever they want,” Deace explains, adding, “It’s not any more complicated than that.”

And he’s not hopeful it will change.

“There’s really not even much we can do to bridge this gap, frankly. Because what’s the number one most loyal issue voting base in the Republican Party?” Deace asks, “the pro-life base.”

“The more married you are, the more you tend to vote Republican, and the less married you are, the more you tend to vote Democratic,” he continues.

“It’s really the number one dividing line of voting patterns in America.”

How many votes can RFK Jr. ACTUALLY get?



RFK Jr. has done something both Biden and Trump have failed to do, which is appeal to voters on both sides of the political aisle.

But is that enough to win in 2024?

Steve Deace doesn’t believe so. Earlier in January, Deace predicted that RFK would get 20% of the vote, which is the most votes a third-party candidate has ever pulled.

After revealing his pick for vice president in his run for the 2024 presidential election, Deace takes that prediction back.

“I don’t think he’ll get anything close to that,” Deace says. “I think his campaign, a lot of that momentum I think has stalled.”

RFK’s pick for VP is Nicole Shanahan, who is a lawyer, entrepreneur, and philanthropist.

“His vice president pick actually just came out with a very bold statement about the MRNA vaccines, I give her credit for that,” Todd Erzen says, adding that while her views on the vaccines reflect those of many RFK supporters, they don’t add anything to his campaign.

“I applaud her stance on vaccination; we already got that from him,” Erzen says.

“It was such a huge, huge missed opportunity on his part,” he adds.

Riley Gaines and 15 other women are suing the NCAA for violating Title IX. Here’s where they’re at in the process



When Riley Gaines began her journey as a competitive swimmer, little did she show that her toughest battles would take place outside of the swimming pool.

After trans swimmer Lia Thomas stole the title from Gaines in the 2022 NCAA championships, Gaines has been on a mission to protect the integrity of women’s sports. That endeavor has since evolved into filing a lawsuit, alongside fifteen other female athletes, against the NCAA for allowing biological men to compete in women’s sports despite Title IX’s legal obligations to protect women.

Now, she joins Steve Deace to discuss where she’s currently at in the fight.

“What is it you want the NCAA to do in response [to the lawsuit]?” asks Steve.

“What we're suing over is the NCAA explicitly and directly violating the federal civil rights law that is Title IX,” which was “enacted back in 1972” and “prevents discrimination on the basis of sex,” says Gaines.

“What the NCAA has done and continues to do is just that. They're discriminating against us on the basis of our sex; they're failing at their most basic duties of ensuring equal opportunity, ensuring safety in our sports, and ensuring privacy in areas of undressing,” she explains.

“To answer your question of what we want the NCAA to do is: one, [take] accountability, two [take] responsibility, and three uphold Title IX’s original intent.”

“[The NAIA] came out recently and said, ‘Hey, we're not going to participate in this insanity,'" says Steve. “Have your attorneys indicated whether that is a boost to your claims or your case?”

“It is certainly something that has helped the lawsuit,” she says, adding that “the NAIA voting overwhelmingly in support” of “[preventing] men from competing in women's sports and vice versa is huge.”

What may come as a surprise to some is that Gaines is actually hopeful that the NCAA will make the right decision.

“I think they're excited about our lawsuit, to be totally honest with you. They want to be able to say their hands are tied,” she tells Steve, adding that she thinks the NCAA that in the “next two weeks, they will be voting on their rules, just like the NAIA.”
