Wild police video: Cops ram car driven by female armed robbery suspect — who actually tries to run away after freeway crash

In a wild police video out of Georgia last week, cops are seen ramming a car that was driven by a female armed robbery suspect — and she actually tried to run away after the jaw-dropping crash on an interstate.

Atlanta police said the department's Auto Crimes Enforcement Unit on Wednesday assisted the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office in locating a vehicle and an armed robbery suspect accused of stealing an elderly woman's cell phone.

The suspect quickly gets out of the vehicle and makes a run for it, hopping over the freeway divider.

Atlanta police said officers found the vehicle and the suspect. Video shows them catching up to the suspect in a car wash:

And an officer is even seen drawing his gun as police tell her "hands up!" and "don't drive away!"

But the suspect backed out of the car wash bay and fled from police, after which a pursuit ensued.

WAGA-TV said the pursuit continued on Interstate 285. Atlanta police said officers utilized a PIT maneuver to end the pursuit. Indeed, video shows a patrol vehicle hitting the left bumper of the suspect's car, which spins out and travels backward along the left shoulder and freeway divider until it comes to a stop.

Police said the suspect was identified as 36-year-old Jenee Johnson.

Police said the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office was the arresting agency and charged Johnson with armed robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, theft by receiving stolen property, and fleeing or attempting to elude police. She also was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon or first-offender probationer.

Guatemalan national fights state trooper who stopped him for driving 114 mph; his blood-alcohol level is twice legal limit

A Guatemalan national was caught on dashcam video fighting an Arkansas state trooper who pulled him over for driving 114 miles per hour on an interstate highway. What's more, the motorist's blood-alcohol level was twice the legal limit.

Arkansas state police on Wednesday released the dashcam video from the July 27 traffic stop in Rogers; you can view it here.

'I thank God that he gave Alex the strength to survive that encounter, and that he put Kylie by her side when she needed support the most. I’m so proud of them both.'

Angel Zapet-Alvarado, 26, of Guatemala was traveling 114 miles per hour in heavy traffic on Interstate 49 southbound when he passed Trooper Alexandria Duncan's marked patrol unit near the 83-mile marker around 7:43 p.m., police said.

Zapet-Alvarado initially showed no signs of stopping, even after Trooper Duncan activated her emergency lights and sirens, police said.

After stopping his vehicle on the right shoulder, Duncan told Zapet-Alvarado to exit the vehicle.

Duncan observed Zapet-Alvarado with his hand on the gearshift and took his keys to prevent him from driving off.

He ignored commands to exit and resisted Duncan’s efforts to remove him from the car — and the trooper deployed her taser when he refused to comply.

In fact, the dashcam video shows Zapet-Alvarado continually refusing to comply with Duncan's orders to roll over on his stomach and put his hands behind his back; Duncan responds by pulling the taser trigger numerous times, after which Zapet-Alvarado cries out in pain.

At one point, Zapet-Alvarado wrestles Duncan's taser from her and throws it into interstate traffic.

He also kicked Trooper Duncan’s head multiple times, police said.

But a Good Samaritan — 31-year-old Kylie Sutton — witnessed the fight and can be seen running toward it in the highway shoulder. When Duncan notices Sutton, she tells her to grab her taser, which Sutton does.

But Zapet-Alvarado then manages to get on top of Duncan.

With that, Sutton helps the trooper by grabbing Zapet-Alvarado from behind and moving him to the ground.

Finally, Duncan tells the Good Samaritan to move away from the fight — after which she informs the combative Zapet-Alvarado that she's going to shoot him. But he persists, and Duncan does exactly what she promised — this time with her gun.

Police said she fired one round, which wounded Zapet-Alvarado in the right temple. Yet, police said he continued to resist arrest and refused Duncan’s instructions to get on the ground.

Soon, an arriving state trooper can be seen coming to help Duncan arrest Zapet-Alvarado.

Zapet-Alvarado was transported to Mercy Hospital Northwest Arkansas, where he was treated and released to law enforcement, police said.

Toxicology results indicate his blood-alcohol was .16 and that cannabinoids were present. He was transported to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center, where he remained, and he was placed on hold for a Homeland Security Investigation.

Trooper Duncan was treated for non-life-threatening injuries she sustained when Zapet-Alvarado assaulted her, police said.

What happened next?

The state police Criminal Investigation Division presented an investigative case file to the prosecuting attorney Aug. 9, police said, and Benton County Prosecutor Joshua Robinson announced Wednesday that Duncan’s use of deadly force was consistent with Arkansas law.

“I wholeheartedly support Trooper Duncan," Col. Mike Hagar said. "We tell our troopers to trust their instincts and lean into their experience and training when they’re on the highways. Anyone who has walked in a trooper’s boots knows that trusting your gut keeps you safe so that you can protect and serve the public. In our world, hesitation can get you killed.”

Hagar added, “I thank God that he gave Alex the strength to survive that encounter, and that he put Kylie by her side when she needed support the most. I’m so proud of them both.”

Watch: Oklahoma police officer smashes through fence, makes flying tackle to apprehend suspect in thrilling bodycam video

An Oklahoma police officer has gone viral after bodycam video was released of him doing everything in his power to apprehend a suspect – including smashing through a fence.

A 20-year-old suspect led officers on a wild police chase last month.

Police dashcam video shows an officer in hot pursuit of a silver sedan speeding down a road. At one point, the sedan nearly collides with a white pickup truck in an intersection.

Police bodycam video shows the suspect ditching his car after a crash and jumping over a fence in a residential area.

An officer is seen on bodycam footage climbing to the top of the fence to deploy his taser at the man on the run, but the suspect escapes.

A second officer with the Moore Police Department sneaks through a hole in the dilapidated fence.

A third police officer – identified as Sgt. Justin Sternberg – is seen sprinting to the crime scene before lowering his shoulder and barreling through the fence. Despite smashing through the fence, the officer doesn't lose a beat and chases after the suspect.

Police bodycam footage shows the two officers climbing over another fence.

Officer Sternberg jumps over two more fences.

The thrilling video shows Sternberg climbing to the top of a fence and making a flying tackle on the suspect. Sternberg and the suspect allegedly both got tased at the end of the confrontation.

The suspect is then arrested for allegedly stealing a vehicle. Police said they found a firearm and a bag of marijuana in the stolen vehicle.

Sternberg told KOCO-TV, "It was run through it or try to climb it, and I think trying to climb it would have taken more time. So, in my head, 'Just run through it.' I had to jump another fence to another fence to take him into custody. As I did jump the fence, I ended up getting tased. So, we were both getting tased at the same time."

As far as the now-broken fence that Sternberg plowed through, the Moore Police Department said, "The family will work with us and the city to get the repairs done."

Clint Byley, with the Moore Police Department, stated: "We did make an attempt to talk with the homeowners. As of last check, I don't know if we've made physical contact with them yet, but they're more than welcome to come to the police department to talk about what happened. And then, we can get them into contact with the city if they don't have the ability to do that themselves."

Sternberg offered to help the family fix the broken fence.

"I'm sorry. If I need to come out and fix it, I will. I can help," Sternberg said.

Heart-racing dashcam video shows trooper miraculously cheat death during brutal traffic stop crash: 'Difficult to watch'

A viral dashcam video shows the moment an Oklahoma trooper narrowly avoided disaster after a car smashed into a vehicle that had been pulled over by the law enforcement officer. Miraculously, there were no severe injuries from the devastating car crash that happened during the traffic stop.

Trooper Jesse Gregory with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol pulled over a white SUV on Jan. 18. Gregory was on the passenger side of the SUV and speaking to the driver.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, a black SUV zooming down the highway violently slammed into the car. Debris from the forceful collision flew into the air, and the trooper was launched into the grass from the impact of the car crash. Despite being involved in the brutal collision, Gregory was able to jump to his feet and can be seen in the dashcam video running out of frame.

Gregory told KWTV-DT, "And after watching the video, I don't even remember barrel-rolling to my feet."

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol described the police dashcam footage of the terrifying car crash as "difficult to watch."

The trooper said, "Hopefully this is my scare of the career."

The crash is being investigated, and it has yet to be determined whether the vehicle that plowed into the stationary car had been speeding.

Luckily, all three people in the accident had not only survived the car crash but had already been "treated and released," according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Trooper Gregory said he is "ready to come back" to work.

He admitted, "And just kind of work through it because I know it's going to take a little bit mentally to come back."

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said in a post on Facebook that it had posted the shocking video to remind the public of "distracted or impaired driving and the importance of the slow down, move over law."

"We are in the middle of a distracted driving emphasis right now in honor of Trooper Nicholas Dees, who lost his life in the line of duty after being struck by a distracted driver," the Oklahoma Highway Patrol stated.

Trooper Nicholas Dees was investigating a tractor-trailer accident around 10 p.m. on Jan, 31, 2015, when he was struck and killed by a distracted driver. The driver was reportedly updating his social media while driving and killed Dees in the line of duty. The driver was charged with manslaughter and sentenced to five years in prison.

Ironically, Gregory was involved in another police traffic stop crash that happened just weeks ago.

On Jan. 5, Canadian County Deputy Jose Mendoza was tossed to the ground after a pickup truck barreled into the vehicle that had been pulled over to the shoulder. Gregory is seen in the police dashcam footage rushing to provide Mendoza with assistance.

Gregory said, "He was struck in the exact same situation. I was less than a mile from him, and I was actually first on scene and called for help."

Mendoza and the others involved in the car accident all survived and suffered varying levels of injuries.

The Canadian County Sheriff's Office said Mendoza is recovering in a long-term rehabilitation facility.

Terrifying video shows jet plane crash into traffic on expressway in Malaysia

At least 10 people were killed when a private jet plane crashed into traffic on an expressway in Malaysia on Thursday.

On Thursday, a private jet plane took off from Langkawi International Airport on the island of Langkawi in the state of Kedah in Malaysia. The plane was traveling to Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang, Petaling District, Selangor, Malaysia, the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia said in a statement.

"First contact made by the aircraft with Subang Air Traffic Control Tower was at 2.47 p.m. [local time (2.47 a.m. ET)] and landing clearance was given at 2:48 p.m.," according to the statement. At 2:51 p.m., the "control tower observed smoke originating from the crash site but no mayday call was made by the aircraft."

The private plane crashed onto an expressway north of Malaysia's capital of Kuala Lumpur.

The Beechcraft model 390 twin-engine plane was carrying six passengers and two flight crew when it crashed.

The flight was operated by private jet services company Jet Valet, Reuters reported.

Selangor Police Head Hussein Omar Khan said the plane collided with a car and a motorcycle, each carrying one person.

"Forensic personnel are in the process of collecting the remains and will bring them to the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang for a post-mortem examination and identification process,” Khan said, according to CNN.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke said, "No one survived the crash. Victims (on the road) will also still need to be identified, will update in due time. Forensic confirmation needs to be taken."

There are multiple videos of the plane crash.

Video recorded on the dashcam of a car that passed on the other side of the expressway shows the moment that the plane crashed followed by huge flames bursting across the highway.

A surveillance camera shows the plane plummeting onto the highway and causing a large fireball. The sound wave caused the camera to shake despite being at a far distance from the crash.

The Ministry of Transport is investigating the crash.

Video shows Seattle police retreat from unruly mob that stopped cops from breaking up illegal street-racing gathering where 4 people were shot

Dashcam video shows an unruly crowd attacking a police cruiser in Seattle, Washington. The chaotic mob prevented police from breaking up an illegal street-racing gathering in the area where four people were shot — one fatally.

Shortly before 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, officers from the Seattle Police Department responded to reports of a large crowd assembling at the intersection of Broadway and E Pike Street. The crowd gathered to watch an illegal street race and cars do reckless donuts.

When officers arrived at the scene, they were "met with resistance."

Police dashcam footage shows the disorderly crowd hurling items at the police vehicle. Individuals were seen on video jumping on the hood of the police cruiser and dancing.

The police cruiser began to back away from the crowd. Some people constructed a makeshift barricade in the middle of the street with bicycles and traffic barriers. Several rioters threw objects that struck the police cruiser.

As the officer with the Seattle Police Department retreated, the horde stalked the cruiser.

At the end of the dashcam video, a firework is seen being launched in the distance.

Capitol Hill Seattle Blog reported, "Around 2:46 a.m., property damage was reported in the area but officers were told not to engage — 'Only going in for life safety, no property damage.'"

The crowd reportedly grew to roughly 200 people as cars performed donuts in the street.

The Seattle Police Department said in a statement, "Shortly before 4:00 a.m., officers heard gunfire and located two victims at the intersection of Broadway and E Pike Street. Police performed life-saving measures on both subjects until Seattle Fire Department personnel arrived."

Four people were shot early Sunday morning in the Capitol Hill area — where the street-racing action took place. A woman died from her gunshot wounds, according to Newsweek.

The three other shooting victims were reportedly in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

"Officers located several shell casings, but no suspect," police said.

No arrests were made in connection to the shootings.

The Seattle City Council passed legislation on Tuesday with the intent to reduce drag racing and dangerous driving, according to KOMO.

"Our community has been pleading for help for years to stop drag racing," said Councilmember Lisa Herbold — who chairs the Public Safety Committee and sponsored the legislation. "This month's crash on Alki Avenue Southwest shows just how dangerous conditions have become. I'm proud to have partnered with neighbors and pass this first-of-its-kind legislation to make our streets safer."

The city will install speed-enforcement cameras where there is dangerous driving often reported. However, Capitol Hill is not on the list of areas that will get security cameras.

Bullet flies through couple's windshield during freeway shootout, missing them both — and it's all caught on dashcam video

Dashcam video caught the moment a bullet flew through an engaged couple's windshield during a shootout on a northern California freeway last month — and it missed them both.

Garrett Mason and Tina Do — who are planning a December wedding — shared their terrifying ordeal with KGO-TV.

What are the details?

On June 14, Mason and Do had just left work in San Leandro — about a half hour east of San Francisco across the San Francisco Bay — and hopped on the eastbound Interstate 580 around 5 p.m., the station said.

It would not prove to be your average Tuesday afternoon rush-hour hassle.

Instead they found themselves in the middle of a shootout as one vehicle cut them off and another tailed them, KGO said.

"Maybe within 15 seconds of getting on the freeway, the first vehicle shot back at the second vehicle lined up on the freeway," Mason told the station.

Suddenly — as their dashcam was recording everything — a bullet flew through their front windshield and exited through their rear window, the station said.

"He heard a few rounds at that point, and when it hit the front windshield, I thought it was a rock," Do told KGO. "I didn't know it was a bullet at all. I was literally feeling my body making sure nothing else was hurt. We had minor scratches."

Police told the couple that freeway shootings aren't uncommon, the station said, adding that there have been more than 80 freeway shootings in the Bay Area in the last four years, with most of them happening in Oakland. Statewide in that time period, there have been more than 215 freeway shootings, KGO said.

"Really the only rare part of the scenario is the bullet went right past her face," Mason added to the station.

"I grew up in the South Bay, so it's like my family is all here," Do noted to KGO, blinking back tears as she added that "now that it's like personally hit me, and you don't want it to like affect anyone else. It's really disappointing it's happening in our hometown."

Mason told the station that "unfortunately we were in the wrong place at the wrong time" before Do interjected: "Also luck at the right time."

Mason — who was behind the wheel when the shot came through their windshield — added to KGO that "people have commented ... if you were a second faster or slower in our car, how could that have changed where the bullet is. But [we] can't think too much about the what ifs — it's just where we're at."

With that Do noted to the station, "So you can say that we literally dodged a bullet."

Gripping video shows NC trooper risking his life to crash police cruiser into car of accused drunk driver: 'Most undoubtedly saved lives'

A North Carolina State Highway Patrol trooper is being heralded as a hero for putting himself in danger to stop a suspected drunk driver. The brave and selfless actions of the state trooper may have saved lives.

In the early morning hours of April 8, several police officers were in pursuit of a driver accused of driving while intoxicated. North Carolina State Highway Patrol said Trooper Cody Thao joined the effort to stop an alleged drunk driver to prevent innocent people from being harmed or killed by the erratic driver.

The suspect – Joshua Ray Bibey – was speeding up an exit ramp in the wrong traffic direction. Thao was coming off the exit ramp in the correct direction. With only seconds to make a decision, Thao unselfishly and gallantly steered his police cruiser towards the oncoming vehicle. Thao's patrol car violently collided with the 26-year-old suspect's vehicle – which appears to be a pickup truck. Police dashcam video shows Thao's cruiser spin off the road after slamming into the vehicle in Wake County.

Thao intentionally drove into the DUI suspect, knowing that the driver was speeding toward the interstate exit – where other cars could have been exiting.

Bibey, of Raleigh, was arrested and charged with driving while impaired.

We're taking you through this wild video put out today by @NCSHP tonight with the trooper whose action saved lives.\nCody Thao: "All the credit goes out to the other troopers who inspire me on a daily basis especially here in Wake County" #abc11 #ncshppic.twitter.com/PRwF9TwauE
— Josh Chapin (@Josh Chapin) 1651718702

"I could not be prouder of Trp. Thao and his quick decision to stop the wrong-way driver, his actions most undoubtedly saved lives," Colonel Freddy L. Johnson, Jr. – commander of the North Carolina State Highway Patrol – said in a statement. "His willingness to put himself in harm’s way is representative of the lifesaving work our members do each day. Placing others before ourselves is not just a saying amongst the law enforcement profession, it's a reality of what we do for the betterment of the communities we serve."

Thao told WTVD, "Once I saw the vehicle, I just decided to stop the chase right there. This is what we signed up to do, this is what we agreed to do."

He added, “All the credit goes out to the other troopers who inspire me on a daily basis especially here in Wake County.”

Thao has only been with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol for less than a year.

"Before that, I actually worked at a Tractor Supply," he said. "I don’t have any prior experience with law enforcement. I’ve always had a servant’s heart, and I’ve always wanted to help people."

There was a very similar incident in March, when a Florida state trooper put herself in harm's way by purposely navigating her police cruiser into an oncoming driver who was allegedly drunk.

Shocking dashcam video shows driver opening fire on passing vehicle in Miami road rage incident

Shocking footage from a vehicle's dash camera shows a driver pulling a handgun from his center console before firing nearly a dozen shots at a passing vehicle while traveling on a major highway.

The apparent road rage incident took place last summer in Miami-Dade County, Florida, WTVJ-TV reported on Friday. But video of the incident has only just surfaced in media reports after being released to police by the defendant as part of the investigation.

The video was reportedly first obtained by Miami-based radio host Andy Slater.

According to police reports filed at the time of the incident, 30-year-old Eric Popper of Deerfield Beach was traveling southbound on I-95 early in the morning on June 21, 2021, when he changed lanes and abruptly cut off another driver.

Then, after the other driver honked his horn, Popper allegedly shouted, "Oh, f*** off" and aggressively applied his brakes.

"The victim tailgated the defendant for a short time and made hand gestures out of his driver’s window. In the video, the defendant is seen retrieving a handgun from his center console and pointing it towards his driver’s door," the police report read, according to WFOR-TV.

"When the defendant begins to pass the victim on the right, the defendant points the handgun towards his right-front passenger door. As the victim passes the defendant, he throws and strikes the victim’s vehicle with an unknown object," the report added.

Popper is then seen firing eleven shots at the passing vehicle, striking it multiple times.

Dashcam video from inside driver's car shows him shooting during road rage incident www.youtube.com

Popper has claimed that he was acting in self-defense. In another dashcam video, he can be heard saying, "I was just shot at. My car was hit," adding, "I returned fire back at the individual."

But the victim reportedly claimed that he did not have a gun but rather threw a water bottle at Popper's vehicle. Amazingly, neither of the drivers was injured in the exchange. Both called police to report the incident after it occurred.

Popper voluntarily turned himself in to the Florida Highway Patrol in July but has since bonded out of custody, WLPG-TV reported. He is reportedly facing several felony charges, including aggressive assault with a firearm and shooting/throwing a deadly missile.

At the time of the incident, Popper worked as a civilian fire inspector with Miami Beach. He has since resigned from his position.

Popper's lawyer, Robert Gershman, confirmed the video to WTVJ and told the outlet he believes the footage exonerates his client.

"You hear a bang on Mr. Popper's car, akin to a gunshot, which precipitated the whole incident, so in this matter, the audio and video evidence we believe exonerates him," Gershman said.

Pulse-pounding video shows moment deputies get ambushed; sheriff defends lethal shooting: 'Evil can never be dead enough'

Authorities have released intense video of the moment police were ambushed by a felon with a lengthy criminal record. The frightening firefight in Florida ended with the deputies barely escaping with their lives.

Brevard County Sheriff's deputies Brian Potters and Tyler Thoman were conducting a traffic stop in Melbourne on Aug. 30. Police dashcam video shows a woman outside her vehicle and another person from the vehicle is leaning against the rear of the vehicle. There is a 2-month-old baby, a dog, and another man in the backseat of the car.

Potters approaches the man sitting in the backseat and strikes up a friendly conversation with him. However, the traffic stop becomes lethal when he asks the man to exit the vehicle. The man begins to get out of the car, and from out of nowhere, he pulls out a rifle that he was hiding and ambushes the deputies by recklessly shooting at them.

The deputies and the suspect exchange gunfire, and a total of 61 rounds were fired in the shootout. Both Potters and the suspect are wounded. The limping suspect attempts to sneak up on the deputies, who are taking cover on one side of the police SUV. After the shooter's gun jams, he uses the butt of the rifle to bash Potters in the back of the head. They both fall to the ground and a tussle ensues.

Thoman then fires his handgun several times and shoots the man attacking deputy Potters, killing him.

Potters was shot in the leg, sustained multiple head lacerations, suffered tissue damage, and bone fractures in his face, Sheriff Wayne Ivey said.

"As you can clearly see in the video, both of our deputies were in a battle for their lives as this disgusting and evil individual had a blatant disregard for their lives, the lives of others at the scene, and the life of a 2-month-old baby in the car," Ivey said. "When I tell you, we are blessed that God was watching over our deputies and those present at the scene, I mean it from the bottom of my heart."

According to WESH-TV, the shooter was identified as Paris Wilder, who had a long rap sheet.

"The attack and ambush [were] perpetrated by a violent, career criminal, with a history of 40 charges for crimes including drug trafficking, aggravated assault while discharging a firearm, battery on a law enforcement officer, and attempted first-degree felony murder," Ivey said. "I'm personally sickened that by the fact that this thug with such a violent criminal history was out of jail where he could almost kill two of our deputies."

"This case is a perfect example of what is wrong with our criminal justice system," the sheriff stated. "When a registered career criminal with 23 felony charges, 17 misdemeanor charges, multiple convictions for violent offenses and two active and pending drug trafficking cases is out on our streets where he can attempt to kill our deputies and put other lives at risk, something is wrong with our system."

Ivey said deputy Thoman saved Potter's life by firing multiple rounds and "eliminating the threat."

Sheriff Ivey defended Thoman's use of force.

"Let there be no doubt, this individual got exactly what he deserved," he proclaimed. "And to those out there that might be foolish enough to ask why we shot him so many times, the answer is simple: evil can never be dead enough."
