Why JD Vance crushed the Theo Von interview — and Tim Walz could never

Donald Trump was not messing around when he picked JD Vance to be his vice president — and Americans all over the country are starting to see why.

Vance is not only incredibly smart and extremely likeable, but he’s the farthest thing from “weird,” as the Democrats attempted to paint him. And his latest interview with comedian Theo Von is testament to that.

When Theo joked about cocaine, telling Vance that “you can’t even do cocaine in this country any more” because of the fentanyl crisis, Vance broke out in laughter. “Don’t say that, but I said it. But don’t say that any more,” Theo added, while Vance kept laughing.

“Dude, I was in an AA meeting, some guy had a fishhook stuck in his freaking cheek, dude,” Theo said in another joke, adding, “But he had two weeks clean.”

“He either had a really bad night or a really good night,” Vance shot back, before Theo, also laughing, took the joke even farther.

“Catch and release. He probably tried to come across the border,” he joked, while again, Vance laughed.

The back-and-forth joking between the two was peppered over some serious moments in the podcast, and Dave Rubin of “The Rubin Report” believes it was an excellent peek into the kind of man Vance really is.

“You can see, JD, even with his white T-shirt and his light blue jeans, he’s kind of a dork. But he can joke around and it’s humanizing and real, and that’s just in such contrast to what we’ve seen of Tim Walz trying to shoot a gun and all of just everything they’ve done with Kamala to try to make her look real,” Rubin says.

While the humanizing aspect of the interview was great, Vance did bring up issues very near and dear to his heart and expertly explained the obesity and fentanyl crises in their entirety to Theo.

“It contrasts just like the silly stuff and then a command of the issue,” Rubin comments. “China has declared war on us; we know what they’re doing. JD just laid it out there.”

“And he’s not calling on our troops; he goes out of his way to say, ‘We shouldn’t be sending troops into Mexico, but how about we just close the damn wall, close the damn border,’” Rubin continues, noting that from the literal health of America to the strength of our borders, the “level of competency” we’d see in a Trump administration is unmatched.

“I just thought that was a nice moment of the silly and the serious at once, and that is, again, in stark contrast to what we’re seeing on the other side,” Rubin adds.

2 illegal aliens arrested in largest fentanyl bust in Florida county's history: 'Didn't come here to better themselves'

Polk County Sheriff's Office in Florida recently announced the "single-largest" fentanyl bust in the county's history, the department revealed in a Friday press conference, WTVT reported.

The sheriff's office launched the investigation into the illicit operation in August after it learned about an organized drug trafficking operation based out of Mexico. The department arrested four individuals in connection with the scheme and seized 14 kilograms of fentanyl, two vehicles, and $5,261 in cash. Two of the suspected criminals, Pedro Rodriguez Correa and Maria Machuca-Alderete, were in the country illegally, according to Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd. The other two individuals, Maria Guadalupe-Garcia and Sergio Garcia, were from California.

"It seems like every time I come up here to talk about fentanyl with my colleagues I'm always saying, 'It's the largest fentanyl seizure in the state of Florida' and, once again, that's what I'm saying today with a seizure of 14 kilos of fentanyl," Judd stated Friday morning. "This is the single-largest seizure in the history of Polk County and that's nothing to be proud of."

One of the detained suspects, Guadalupe-Garcia, told deputies that she did not know anything about the narcotics and claimed to be delivering a box of diapers.

"When was the last time you picked up a box of Huggies that weighed 27 pounds? Maria, we don't have any Huggies in the county jail, but we will have you there," Judd said, according to WTVT.

"They didn't come here to better themselves and their family," he continued, referring to the two illegal migrants. "They came here to kill people in America with a deadly drug through a porous border that we need to seal off."

According to Judd, the amount of drugs seized in the bust is enough to kill one-third of Florida's population. He stated that the traffickers expected to be paid $42,500 for the delivery from Mexico to Florida. In total, the 14 kilogram shipment was worth $3.5 million, the office reported.

According to the sheriff's office, Rodriguez-Correa, the driver for the criminal organization, brought a six-year-old boy along for the fentanyl delivery. The Florida Department of Children and Families seized custody of the child.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement has placed a detainer on Machuca-Alderete and Rodriguez-Correa for being in the country illegally.

Machuca-Alderete was charged with trafficking fentanyl, maintaining a vehicle to traffic illegal drugs, resisting arrest with violence, battery on an officer, unlawful use of a two-way communication device, and possession of drug paraphernalia, WTVT reported.

Rodriguez-Correa was charged with trafficking fentanyl, unlawful use of a two-way communication device, and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the outlet.

Guadalupe-Garcia and Sergio Garcia were both charged with trafficking fentanyl, maintaining a vehicle to traffic illegal drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A fifth suspect, whose identity has not been released to the public, is still at large and wanted for similar charges.

Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody said during the Friday news conference, "I would submit to you that an appropriate response would not just be, 'We are going to address the cartels with hugs, not violence.' But how about how I have demanded and suggested in that we declare the cartels terrorist organizations and we designate fentanyl as a weapon of mass destruction."

"Over the past year, the PCSO seized 30 additional kilograms of fentanyl - about enough to kill all the people in the state of Florida," according to the sheriff's office.

House Democrat lectures mother of fentanyl overdose victim, but she exposes him with just one question: 'Have you?'

Rep. Dan Goldman (D-N.Y.) on Thursday lectured the mother of a fentanyl overdose victim. But unfortunately for Goldman, that mother was not interested in his political games.

At a House Homeland Security Committee hearing focused on the impeachment of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, Goldman challenged Josephine Dunn, an Arizona mother whose daughter died at 26 years old after mistakenly ingesting fentanyl.

At first, Goldman told Dunn she was being "used" by Republicans before belittling her knowledge and telling her she doesn't understand "what a high-crime misdemeanor is and how it relates" to impeachment proceedings. Then, he mocked Second Amendment supporters before finally asking Dunn if she agrees the U.S. needs more Border Patrol agents.

"I disagree with that because Border Patrol is now being used to make sandwiches and to screen people and let them into our country. So I disagree with you," Dunn responded.

Thinking he had caught her in a trap, Goldman responded, "So you don't think it would be helpful to have more Border Patrol officers who are charged with stopping the fentanyl trade?"

"I would like the Border Patrol to be able to do the job that they were hired to do. Every Border Patrol officer that I have spoken to has told me that their hands are tied by this administration and Mr. Mayorkas," she responded.

That's when Dunn turned the tables on Goldman and asked him a question — something the New York Democrat clearly did not like.

"I've been to the border, sir. Have you? Have you?" Dunn asked.

"I'm asking the questions," Goldman fired back.

Goldman then lectured Dunn again. He told her the "problem" with her response is that other Homeland Security officials have said the agency needs more personnel. He used the rest of his time to defend President Joe Biden and essentially blame Republicans for the border crisis.

As part of her testimony, Dunn told the committee that she believes Mayorkas is "partially responsible" for her daughter's death.

"In my humble opinion, Mr Mayorkas is partially responsible for my daughters death," she said. "His wide-open border policy allows massive quantities of poisonous fentanyl into our country.

"This is an invasion, a weapon of mass destruction, and unimaginable death and damage to our country and facilitated by Mr. Mayorkas. His participation in all of this [in] what I believe is a war is clearly intentional support of the enemy, which disqualifies him from his position. Our country deserves a secure border. We need to close the fentanyl super highway," she added.

'How dare you?' Furious mother responds after Biden laughs while mentioning her deceased sons

Rebecca Kiessling, a mother who lost two sons to the fentanyl epidemic, fired back at President Joe Biden after he laughed while mentioning her deceased sons.

What is the background?

While speaking to Democrats on Wednesday, Biden appeared to celebrate the fact that Kiessling’s sons, Caleb and Kyler, died when Donald Trump was president.

He made the remark after invoking Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), who was accused of blaming Biden for the deaths.

"I've read [Greene] was very specific recently, saying that a mom — a poor mother who lost two kids to fentanyl — that I killed her sons. Well, the interesting thing is that fentanyl they took came during the last administration," Biden said while laughing.

How did Kiessling respond?

Responding in a Facebook video, Kiessling demanded the president apologize.

"Really? This is how you speak about the death of my sons? Because a congresswoman misspoke? You mock the loss of my sons?" she asked.

"How dare you? What is the matter with you? Almost every Democrat on the committee offered condolences; they at least had the decency to do that," she said. "You can’t even do that? You have to mock my pain?"

According to Kiessling, Biden has no reason to celebrate because, under his watch, fentanyl deaths have increased dramatically.

"What about the 22% increase in fentanyl deaths since you became president?" Kiessling asked. "That represents tens of thousands of U.S. citizens who died under your watch, an increase in tens of thousands. That represents even double that number of the parents who are suffering.

"You’re going to keep laughing? About those who did die under your watch? Do we have to bring them in so you can look them in the eyes and laugh?" she continued. "What is wrong with you? This is wrong and our president needs to apologize to me, and he needs to be held accountable."

Will Biden apologize?

If the response from White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre is any indication, Kiessling should not expect an apology from the president.

When asked about Kiessling's remarks on Thursday, Jean-Pierre used the moment to jab Fox News and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), though mentioning neither by name.

"I will say, his words are being mischaracterized by someone who is regularly discredited for things that she says that are, really, conspiracy theories. And those lies are being parroted by a certain network," she said.

Biden laughs after mentioning fentanyl overdose deaths because they happened under Trump: 'The interesting thing'

President Joe Biden on Wednesday laughed and appeared to trivialize the deaths of two men who died of fentanyl overdoses, all in an effort to bash Republicans.

Speaking at the House Democratic Caucus Issues Conference, Biden bashed Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), saying that if the Republican Party elects a few more lawmakers like her, then the majority of Republicans will be "running" to embrace the Democratic Party.

"Isn’t she amazing?" Biden mocked. "Oof."

The president immediately followed up by invoking Michigan mother Rebecca Kiessling, whose two sons — Caleb, 20, and Kyler, 18 — died of fentanyl overdoses. Kiessling testified before the House Homeland Security Committee on Tuesday, where she pleaded with lawmakers to increase border security and narcotics interception.

In his speech, Biden emphasized that Kiessling's sons died when Donald Trump was president.

"I've read she was very specific recently, saying that a mom — a poor mother who lost two kids to fentanyl, that I killed her sons. Well, the interesting thing is that fentanyl they took came during the last administration," Biden said, letting out a laugh.

Biden appeared to be referring to accusations that Greene allegedly made. CNN accused her of blaming Biden for the deaths of Kiessling's sons.

That is one interpretation of Greene's remarks about Kiessling's testimony. Another interpretation, however, is that Greene was making a larger rhetorical point — the same that Kiessling made, in fact — that weak border security is driving the fentanyl crisis and that the government must increase border security to stop the influx of lethal narcotics into America.

It's true that Kiessling's sons died in 2020 when Trump was president. But Biden's reaction — laughter — to a fact that absolved him of direct responsibility is what drew criticism.

Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah), for instance, demanded that Biden "apologize for this immediately."

"No person, let alone the president of the United States, laughs when speaking about a mother who lost two sons to fentanyl poisoning," Lee said. "What, President Biden, do you find amusing about this?"

Corporate Media Panic Over Fentanyl Overdoses But Won’t Talk About The Border Crisis Causing Them

Everyone wants to talk about the 'hidden epidemic' of fentanyl overdoses but no one wants to talk about the border crisis that’s causing it.

Chinese communist-fueled opioid crisis cost U.S. $1.47 trillion in 2020

In recent years, opioids, frequently produced by the communist Chinese and trafficked by illegal aliens, have killed hundreds of thousands of Americans. Extra to promoting this tragic loss of life, a new congressional report indicates that the opioid crisis is also taking a profound economic toll.

Human and economic cost

The number of drug overdose deaths in the U.S. increased by 30% between 2019 and 2020, representing a five-time increase since 1999. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, from 2019 to 2020, opioid-involved death rates increased by 38% and synthetic opioid-involved death rates went up by 56%.

The CDC revealed that among the 107,622 American drug overdose deaths in 2021, 80,816 (75%) involved opioids. Fentanyl is the leading killer of adults ages 18-45.

According to Rep. David Trone (D-Md.), a member of the Congressional Joint Economic Committee that generated the forthcoming report accounting for the economic cost of the drug epidemic, "It's equivalent to one 737 (jet) every day going down, no survivors. It's a mind-boggling number of deaths."

Reuters reported that the JEC's report indicates that the opioid crisis, after adjusting for inflation, cost the U.S. economy $1.47 trillion in 2020. That is a $487 billion increase over 2019 and a 37% increase from 2017.

The report indicated that, given in the sustained rise in fatal opioid overdoses last year, "the total cost is likely to continue to increase."

The Council of Economic Advisers had estimated the cost of the crisis to have been $696 billion in 2018, or 3.4% of GDP.

Previous cost estimates, such as the CEA's, have factored in the value of lost lives, increases in health care and substance abuse treatment costs, increases in criminal justice costs, and reductions in productivity.

Bad actors

Craig Singleton, senior fellow at the nonpartisan Foundation for Defense of Democracies, told Fox News Digital earlier this month, "Since approximately 2013, China has been the principal source of the fentanyl flooding America's illicit drug market."

While President Joe Biden has previously omitted mention of China's leading role in exporting the fentanyl that has killed hundreds of thousands of Americans, the Drug Enforcement Administration highlighted the communist nation's devastating contributions in a January 2020 report.

The report indicated that "Mexico and China are the primary source countries for fentanyl and fentanyl-related substances trafficked directly into the United States."

In addition to running drugs up through Mexico, China traffics the killer substance "through international mail and express consignment operations environment."

While evidently keen to continue sending fentanyl to the U.S., under pressure from former President Donald Trump, China domestically banned all forms of the opioid in 2019. Singleton noted that as a result, only "authorized firms which the Chinese government has granted special licenses" are permitted to produce, sell, and export fentanyl-class drugs.

The Republican Study Committee indicated in a September 15 memo that Chinese operations continued despite the ban, only closer to America, and that "fentanyl trafficking across our border increased by 132%" in 2021.

Subsequent to China's apparent clampdown on fentanyl, "a significant portion of China's fentanyl manufacturing ... moved to Mexico where cartels set up their own operations to produce fentanyl using precursor chemicals from China."

Democrat Rep. David Trone, involved in the new JEC report, previously stated, "China's critically involved in the ... deaths we had because they are pretty much the lone supplier of [fentanyl] precursor chemicals pre-precursor chemicals, which they are shipping to Mexico."

Trone noted further, "They know it's being shipped to Mexico, it's being done by Chinese middlemen who are selling it directly to the Mexican cartels where it is being turned into fentanyl .... [It] is coming into the U.S. by the hundreds of millions of pills and the chain all starts in China."

Much of the fentanyl that reaches America is sourced in China by Mexico's Sinaloa and Jalisco New Generation cartels.

Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis recently blamed China for America's fentanyl crisis on September 22. He stated, "If you look at their manufacturing fentanyl and shipping it to the drug cartels who run it across our southern border ... that would not be happening if it weren't for China."

Sen. Rob Portman (R-Ohio) told Politico that under the Biden administration, "Mexican transnational criminal organizations have increased their work with criminal gangs in China to import into Mexico the ingredients used to make fentanyl. ... The Biden administration must pressure China to do more to address this issue."

The RSC echoed these sentiments, writing, "The Biden administration's weakness has allowed this deadly relationship between the cartels and Chinese actors to flourish."

In addition to holding China and Mexico to account and dealing with the spate of lethal drugs pouring across the southern border along with millions of illegal aliens, the RSC recommended a number of legislative answers to the problem, including:

  • Arizona Republican Rep. Paul Gosar's bill that would require life imprisonment or the death penalty for dealing fentanyl which results in death;
  • Tennessee Republican Rep. Tim Burchett's bill that would require a life sentence for anyone convicted of trafficking fentanyl; and
  • the late Indiana Republican Rep. Jackie Warlorski's bill allowing individuals and state attorneys general to sue foreign countries for death or injury caused by their inability to combat illegal fentanyl trafficking in to the U.S..

According to the book "The Hundred-Year Marathon," by Michael Pillsbury, director of the Center on Chinese Strategy at the Hudson Institute, elements of the communist Chinese regime have long aspired to "replace the United States as the economic, military, and political leader of the world by the year 2049 (the one hundredth anniversary of the Communist Revolution)," in part to "avenge or 'wipe clean' (xi xue) past foreign humiliations," such as the Chinese addiction to opium in the 19th century.

A 2021 Pentagon report underlined the Chinese aim to "achieve 'the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation' by 2049 to match or surpass U.S. global influence and power, displace U.S. alliances and security partnerships in the Indo-Pacific region, and revise the international order to be more advantageous to Beijing's authoritarian system."

The communists will reportedly undertake "far-ranging efforts" to see this geopolitical goal realized.

Biden’s Apathy Toward His Drug-Plagued Border Crisis Is Killing People

Drug overdoses reached record highs in 2021 and are on track to cause more deaths in 2022 as Biden ignores his ongoing border crisis.
