Gavin Newsom panics that his son listens to Joe Rogan, Jordan Peterson: 'I really worry about these micro-cults'

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) recently aired concern about his son's interest in Joe Rogan and Jordan Peterson.

In an interview with Bloomberg that was published Sept. 7, Newsom was asked if he has discussed artificial intelligence with any of his four children. The governor confirmed that he has and offered insight into his concern about his kids gravitating toward "micro-cults."

"I really worry about the misinformation, disinformation," Newsom said, "about what's happening with our country, but I really worry about these micro-cults that my kids are in.

"I say micro-cults because I don't know if there's a better way to describe it. My son is asking me about Andrew Tate, Jordan Petersen [sic]. And then immediately he's talking about Joe Rogan," he explained. "And I'm like, here it is, the pathway."

— (@)

For the record, neither Rogan nor Peterson nor Tate are cult leaders.

However, each of the men has a cult following on social media. They are wildly popular, famous, and offer perspectives about a myriad of issues that often diverge from the mainstream consensus. Each of them is also critical of authoritarian politicians and believes a leader like Newsom falls into that category.

But the biggest thread that connects them is they believe strong men are important for society. Perhaps it is telling, then, that Newsom's son is attracted to them.

In response, Peterson poked fun at Newsom on social media.

"We're coming for your children @GavinNewsom," Peterson joked. "We plan to turn Your boys Into men And girls Into women[.] Within the dark Pathways Of our micro cult."

Rogan, meanwhile, frequently criticizes Newsom on his podcast for mismanaging California through ultra-liberal policies and harsh COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.

'The climate change agenda has NOTHING to do with the climate': Vivek Ramaswamy spars with California Gov. Gavin Newsom

California Gov. Gavin Newsom delivered remarks at the United Nations Climate Ambition Summit in New York, declaring during his speech, "This climate crisis is a fossil fuel crisis."

People on social media pounced on Newsom's comments.

"How did you get to New York?" one person wrote.

"Did he fly there on an electric plane?" someone else posted.

"Gavin rode a bicycle from California to New York," another individual mocked.

Author and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, who is one of the Republican candidates currently vying for the GOP presidential nomination, sparred with Newsom.

"My message to @GavinNewsom: The climate change agenda has NOTHING to do with the climate & everything to do with letting China catch up to the U.S. It's not complicated. Drill. Frack. Use Coal. Embrace Nuclear," Ramaswamy tweeted.

— (@)

"Keep auditioning for the hall of fame for the most ignorant analysis of science. Your coal agenda is up there with your 9/11 theories," Newsom replied.

"The climate disaster-related death rate is down by 98% over the last century, due to fossil fuels," Ramaswamy fired back. "8x as many people die of cold temperatures as warm ones, and the best way to stop all temperature-related deaths right now is broader access to fossil fuels. China has 115 coal plants under construction now & another 250 planned while we’re shutting down the few we have left in America. These are inconvenient truths for the likes of the @GavinNewsom who wax eloquent about 'science' without having the first clue about it. Utterly shameful that this represents the state of political leadership in America today."

'You ruin women's sports': Trans skier wins girls' high school state championship, father of competitor speaks out — 'It's not fair'

'You ruin women's sports': Trans skier wins girls' high school state championship, father of competitor speaks out — 'It's not fair'

A transgender girl who is a male teen won a recent California-Nevada high school state championship in skiing, prompting backlash from a parent of one the girls he competed against.

The high school sophomore, who goes by June Watterson and she/her pronouns, took first place in the High School State Champions women's slalom race at the California-Nevada Interscholastic Ski & Snowboard Federation state finals for ski athletes, according to the Daily Mail.

A father of one of the competing girls spoke to the British outlet on the condition of anonymity, out of fear of relentless backlash. "Hormones and drugs are just introducing drugs into sport. It's not fair on the girls. I'm all about being inclusive and accepting people, but they have men racing in women's sports,' the father said.

"It's pretty clear to me or anyone with a brain that if you are going through or have gone through male puberty then you should only race against people who have gone through or are going through male puberty," the parent added.

Watterson won the women's race on March 6, 2023, beating the second place finisher by 17 seconds. The event took place at Northstar California near Lake Tahoe, with about 200 athletes representing approximately 50 schools in the competition.

Watterson has previously spoken about Watterson's sex change on social media, remarking on how Watterson was on estrogen while still competing with men previously.

"There were a lot of factors this season that made it not the season I was hoping for, including being 6 months on estrogen in the men's field, but I'm still happy with how I did the whole season," the post read.

"I'm looking forward to next year and hopefully competing in women's varsity! The work isn't done though, and I still have the whole summer season and cyclocross until then! See you out there," the teenager explained.

The father of Watterson's competitor said that he asked his daughter how she felt, and she responded that "she was supportive, and her team had 'come to terms' with it."

"These kids, they are kids [and] live in the world adults have created. I don't blame the winning athlete. This is a failure at the administrative level and higher," the parent continued. "I'll point out the obvious: You ruin women's sports by allowing males to compete in women's sports."

The Independent Council on Women’s Sports pointed out that this was the second male to win a women's skiing competition in March 2023, stating that "trans-identifying male skier, Wren Pyle won a 2nd consecutive women’s national title in the U23 Sprint Skimo event last weekend in Utah at [the USA Skimo] National Championships."

"Pyle also won in the U23 vertical event & in the individual rec women’s category," ICONS stated.

Gavin Newsom bashes Target CEO, says blacks, Asians, Jews, and women are next victims of 'systemic attack'

Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom of California criticized the CEO of Target after he appeared to back off on publicizing products for the LGBTQ agenda.

Newsom assailed the decision to move LGBTQ products to the back of stores after outrage from many on the right.

"CEO of Target Brian Cornell selling out the LGBTQ+ community to extremists is a real profile in courage. This isn’t just a couple stores in the South. There is a systematic attack on the gay community happening across the country," wrote Newsom in a tweet Tuesday.

"Wake up America. This doesn’t stop here. You’re black? You’re Asian? You’re Jewish? You’re a woman? You’re next," he claimed.

Newsom's bizarre accusation was widely marked on social media.

"Target sells Hanukkah stuff every year. There has never been a boycott of Target based on that. Target celebrates Black History Month every year. There has never been a boycott of Target based on that. We just don't like the sexual indoctrination of the kids," responded Ben Shapiro.

"So @GavinNewsom supports woke giant corporations hiring designers who follow Satan to entice impressionable self-conscious teens into damaging their bodies. For profit. While claiming moral virtue for doing so. This is now the modern left and @TheDemocrats," replied Jordan Peterson.

"You want to be LGBT+fine, just stop cramming it down our throats & targeting children with clothing they don't even understand. This boycott response is the result of the left's cancel culture you all created. Conservatives are the consumer & they are talking with their wallets," read another popular response.

On Tuesday, a report said that Target executives held an emergency meeting to address the growing furor against their LGBTQ marketing campaign. On Wednesday, the company announced that it would be moving products to the back of the store in order to avoid physical threats allegedly being made against Target employees.

"I think those are just good business decisions, and it's the right thing for society, and it's the great thing for our brand," said Cornell on a podcast.

"Since introducing this year's collection, we've experienced threats impacting our team members' sense of safety and wellbeing while at work," read a statement from the company.

"Given these volatile circumstances, we are making adjustments to our plans, including removing items that have been at the center of the most significant confrontational behavior," it added.

Newsom used video of crying student in a pro-abortion ad. She is again reminding him those were tears of joy over Roe being overturned: 'Sad? Try ecstatic'

California Gov. Gavin Newsom recently ran a pro-abortion ad wherein a young woman appears crying outside the U.S. Supreme Court. The woman's tearful response appears to have been strategically situated in the video to convey grief over the high court's Dobbs decision, which overturned Roe v. Wade and enabled the states to once again make their own determinations about abortion.

There was, however, nothing grievous about the woman's actual response.

In fact, contrary to the voiceover that states in the ad, "Panic is the primary reaction," the woman seen crying was jubilant, overwhelmed by the hard-won result of decades of pro-life efforts and prayers.

"Panic? Sad? Try ecstatic, blown away by God’s grace on this country," tweeted Macy Petty, a pro-life activist and student at Lee University.

Petty is the woman grossly misrepresented in the Democratic governor's agitprop, posted to the official California governor's Twitter account as well as to Newsom's personal account.

She has called out Newsom for seeking to retroactively convert her documented joy into anguish for the purpose of promoting state-sanctioned homicide.

In a Jan. 21 statement posted to Instagram, Petty said, "California governor Gavin Newsom has used my image in one of his political ads in yet another attempt to show his support for women. He and pro abortion Democrats have one again shown Americans that they care little for my voice as a woman."

Despite reaching out to Newsom and his team several times, "asking them to stop their pathetic mischaracterization of who I am," Petty noted "they have chosen once again to use my image and misrepresent me as a pro-life woman."

Petty added, "I do not appreciate, nor do I consent to this kind of treatment and belittling of who I am as a woman. ... Remove my image from your shameful ad and stop your disgraceful treatment of pro-life women just like me."

Ahead of the midterm elections, Newsom and other supporters of pro-abortion Proposition 1, including former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, circulated a campaign video that similarly used the footage of Petty crying.

Petty had called them out then as well, noting, "In your campaign video, you portrayed me in an evil light and distorted my emotions as part of your political game."

The pro-life activist, who has also taken a stand against men in women's sports, clarified, "As I continued to witness history, I pondered how lucky I was to witness such an event. I thanked the Lord for this decision and for opening my eyes to the evil of abortion. This is what brought me to tears."

Clinton shared the deceptive video wherein "SAD" is superimposed on the student's face on Oct. 18.

Days later, Petty tweeted to her, "Hey Hillary, I’m the girl crying in this video. I am pro-life and those are HAPPY tears because I just witnessed a MIRACLE!"

“Hey Hillary, I’m the girl crying in this video. I am pro-life and those are HAPPY tears because I just witnessed a MIRACLE! @HillaryClinton @GavinNewsom #prolife”
— Macy Petty (@Macy Petty) 1666290633

Petty told the Christian Post, "I’m part of a generation of pro-life activists. ... My mom worked at a pregnancy center, and my grandma started one. So it’s in my blood. And I was just so grateful to be there to witness it because there are so many people who were in the fight before me who didn’t get to witness it."

Campus Reform reported that Petty has recently partnered with the California Family Council to take the Newsom administration to task.

The CFC issued a statement Monday, writing, "The California Family Council and Macy Petty are urging Governor Gavin Newsom to apologize for his act of defamation, remove the video from circulation, and never again use Macy Petty’s name to promote a pro-abortion stance."
