Trump Administration To Cancel All Federal Funds To Harvard

The Trump administration appears to be making an example of Harvard to motivate entities in higher education to comply with federal civil rights law and stop foisting extreme views of social structures and institutions on society.

Trump pulls plug on government's 8,000 EV chargers

The word has come down from on high: Shut down the power, and sell the fleet.

The Trump administration's General Services Administration is set to pull the plug on all EV charging stations in federal buildings nationwide. In addition, the agency plans to off-load newly purchased EVs from the federal vehicle fleet.

Shutting this down isn’t just about saving pennies; it’s a signal. The Trump administration is pumping the brakes on the whole EV push, big time.

Tell me again how Trump's in the tank for Elon?

Fleet cheat

The GSA is the agency that keeps the federal government’s buildings humming and manages a massive fleet of about 650,000 vehicles.

Under Biden, the GSA went all in on EVs — ordering over 58,000 zero-emission rides and installing thousands of charging ports nationwide. The goal? Electrify everything by 2035.

But now, with Trump back in the driver’s seat, the GSA is hitting the brakes hard. It is pulling the plug on hundreds of charging stations — think 8,000 plugs going dark — and off-loading those brand-new EVs faster than you can say "range anxiety."

The reasoning? These assets aren’t "mission critical." Translation: The GSA doesn’t think EVs fit the government’s real priorities.

Free ride

Let’s break this down. These chargers weren’t just for government vehicles and federal employees; they were being used for personal EVs, too. We’re talking Denver Federal Center, VA sites, military bases, and other places where federal employees could cop a complimentary charge for their personal vehicles.

The free ride is over. And GSA is unloading its electric vehicle fleets, too. No word yet on whether the government is selling them cheap or just parking them in some giant government lot. Either way, this is a seismic shift. The Biden administration spent billions of your tax dollars to push this green dream, and now the GSA has yanked the emergency brake.

And let’s not kid ourselves — shutting this down isn’t just about saving pennies; it’s a signal. The Trump administration is pumping the brakes on the whole EV push, big time.

War on the green agenda

It's no secret that President Trump is not a fan of Biden’s EV mandate. He’s already paused $5 billion in public charger funding and nixed plans for more federal EVs. This is war on the green agenda. Biden’s team dropped BILLIONS of dollars of your money to electrify everything by 2035.

The GSA is responsible for managing federal assets including a fleet of approximately 650,000 vehicles. Under the Biden administration, it embarked on a plan to transition to zero-emission vehicles. That included the procurement of over 58,000 EVs and the installation of more than 25,000 charging ports. It never came anywhere close to achieving those figures though, and this new directive puts that plan to a swift end.

It's not clear where all those unwanted EVs will go. Technically, the GSA could simply take the vehicles out of the fleet and put them into storage rather than sell them at a loss.

It’s also uncertain how the agency will replace the vehicles being phased out; possibilities include purchasing new gas-powered models or reallocating older ones from retirement. I hope they reuse the older ones and stop wasting our tax dollars.

Waste management

Three years ago, the Biden administration gave out a total of $7.5 billion in grants for states to develop EV charging infrastructure; since then, only about a dozen charging stations have been built nationwide.

This is a waste of taxpayer dollars. Carmakers need to shift gears and stop cranking out EVs that are not selling and sitting on dealer lots. Making what their customers want rather than what is mandated will return the profits they once enjoyed.

So what’s your take? Is the GSA right to ditch EVs and chargers? Hit me up in the comments. I want to hear your opinions!

Trump eyes selling FBI, DOJ headquarters among 400+ government properties to cut waste

President Donald Trump's administration is reportedly considering selling more than 400 government properties, including headquarters for several federal agencies.

The U.S. General Services Administration published a list of 443 "non-core" properties on Tuesday.

'GSA will consider non-core assets for divestment.'

The website stated, "We are identifying buildings and facilities that are not core to government operations, or non-core properties for disposal. Selling ensures that taxpayer dollars are no longer spent on vacant or underutilized federal spaces. Disposing of these assets helps eliminate costly maintenance and allows us to reinvest in high-quality work environments that support agency missions."

"The list below includes properties designated for disposal. We will update it as assessments progress," it added.

The list named federal government properties in 47 states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico.

The agency's list included the headquarters buildings for the Department of Energy, the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Justice, the FBI, and the GSA. It also included buildings for the American Red Cross and the Office of Personnel Management.

The GSA estimated that selling the properties — totaling nearly 80 million square feet — could save American taxpayers over $430 million per year in operating costs.

Michael Peters, the commissioner of the Public Buildings Service, told Bloomberg, "Just because something is on the non-core list doesn't mean it's for sale by any means."

"But if someone put an offer on the table, we would evaluate it," he added.

Peters noted that the maintenance on some of the listed properties has been neglected.

"The deferred maintenance is reflected in the condition of these buildings. You know, if you toured many of them, you wouldn't want to be there with your dog, much less with your work environment," he told Bloomberg.

Signaling a potential change of plans, the Associated Press reported that the GSA's properties list was removed from its website by Wednesday morning.

As of Wednesday afternoon, a live version of the website no longer displays the properties. However, an archived version of the webpage still lists 443 buildings.

It is unclear why the list was removed from the site.

The GSA did not respond to a request for comment from the AP.

However, a Tuesday press release on the agency's website reads, "GSA's Public Buildings Service's (PBS) foundational mission is to deliver cost-effective workspace solutions for its federal agency customers, enabling them to fulfill their missions for the American taxpayer. This requires providing functional facilities to meet the needs of our federal agency customers at the best possible value."

"PBS has identified certain core Federally-owned assets within its portfolio that are needed for critical government operations, such as: courthouses, land ports of entry, and facilities critical to our national defense and law enforcement. These core assets are intrinsically significant to the mission of the federal government and will be retained for long-term needs," the statement continued.

"GSA will consider non-core assets for divestment from government ownership in an orderly fashion to ensure taxpayers no longer pay for empty and underutilized federal office space, or the significant maintenance costs associated with long-term building ownership — potentially saving more than $430 million in annual operating costs," the agency stated.

Trump orders another federal agency to axe media contracts amid Politico controversy: Report

President Donald Trump ordered yet another federal agency to cancel all of its media contracts in the wake of the recent controversy involving Politico, a report from Axios claims.

According to an email obtained by Axios, the Trump administration apparently called for the General Services Administration to discontinue all of its paid media contracts.

"GSA team, please do two things," the email from a Trump official began. "Pull all contracts for Politico, BBC, E&E (Politico sub) and Bloomberg."

The email reiterated that the directive applied to "every single media contract" with the GSA alone: "Pull all media contracts for just GSA ... for GSA only."

Whether the contracts are to be pulled temporarily or permanently is unclear. However, a White House official indicated to Axios that the Trump administration was laser-focused on the media. "The eye of Sauron is on more than just Politico," the official said. "It's all the media."

The New York Post reached out to the White House late Thursday night to confirm the reporting from Axios but did not receive a response.

The GSA is billed as an "independent" agency designed to improve government efficiency by managing government real estate and buying government equipment and solutions from private businesses. "We also promote management best practices and efficient government operations through the development of governmentwide policies," its website says.

'THE DEMOCRATS CAN’T HIDE FROM THIS ONE.'

The report regarding the GSA and its apparently now-defunct media contracts comes on the heels of a major controversy involving Politico Pro, a subscription service affiliated with the Politico media outlet.

A quick scan of USAspending.gov revealed earlier this week that the federal government had shelled out $8 million in subscription fees to Politico Pro in the last year alone and more than $34 million since fiscal year 2016. Politico's affiliate, Capitol News Company LLC, received another $4.5 million from fiscal year 2011 through 2023, Blaze News previously reported.

In response to the uproar that ensued, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt promised on Wednesday that Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency would begin "working on canceling those payments now."

The following day, Trump took to Truth Social and slammed Politico as a "left wing 'rag'" and claimed that the subscriptions paid for by federal agencies like the United States Agency for International Development were actually a quid pro quo for favorable news coverage of the Democratic Party:

LOOKS LIKE BILLIONS OF DOLLARS HAVE BEEN STOLLEN AT USAID, AND OTHER AGENCIES, MUCH OF IT GOING TO THE FAKE NEWS MEDIA AS A 'PAYOFF' FOR CREATING GOOD STORIES ABOUT THE DEMOCRATS. THE LEFT WING 'RAG,' KNOWN AS 'POLITICO,' SEEMS TO HAVE RECEIVED $8,000,000. Did the New York Times receive money??? Who else did??? THIS COULD BE THE BIGGEST SCANDAL OF THEM ALL, PERHAPS THE BIGGEST IN HISTORY! THE DEMOCRATS CAN’T HIDE FROM THIS ONE. TOO BIG, TOO DIRTY!

In a letter to readers, Politico CEO Goli Sheikholeslami and editor in chief John Harris pushed back against the accusations, claiming that the subscription sales to federal agencies were normal, apolitical business transactions akin to purchases of "research, equipment, software and industry reports."

"We have never received any government funding — no subsidies, no grants, no handouts. Not one dime, ever, in 18 years," they wrote.

"Some online voices are deliberately spreading falsehoods. Let’s be clear: POLITICO has no financial dependence on the government and no hidden agenda. We cover politics and policy — that’s our job."

For its part, Axios apparently quickly accepted the explanation offered by Politico leadership — and indicated that those questioning the tens of millions of dollars exchanged between the federal government and major media outlets were peddling "false conspiracy theories."

Of note, Axios also added a key disclosure at the bottom of the article, acknowledging that Axios Pro received $5,550 in subscription fees from the Federal Communications Commission last year.
