Liberty Safe blasted over admission that it voluntarily gave FBI the access code to Jan. 6 protester's gun safe: 'Start marketing your stuff as Bud Light storage'

A prominent gun safe company has come under fire after admitting that it voluntarily provided the access code for a customer's safe to the FBI.

Liberty Safe's attempt to explain why the company readily surrendered a January 6 protester's code has not gone over well, prompting critics to threaten giving the company "the Bud Light treatment."

What's the background?

Nathan Earl Hughes, 34, was arrested on Aug. 30 in Fayetteville, Arkansas, on felony and misdemeanor charges.

According to the Biden Department of Justice, Hughes, spotted wearing an "Infowars"-branded Space Force shirt in the vicinity of the Lower West Terrace tunnel at the Capitol on Jan. 6, allegedly "helped other rioters physically fight police in an attempt to breach the line and enter the U.S. Capitol building."

Extra to his social media posts, the Arkansas Times indicated that the FBI was able to identify Hughes on the basis of the "distinct notches at the top of his ears."

Hughes is apparently known to the twin conservative commentators Keith and Kevin Hodge, who claimed on X, "Last week, a friend of ours was raided by the feds over J6."

"Nate was raided by the FBI and arrested at gun point. His girlfriend (who just had a miscarriage) was held at gun point and put in handcuffs. The FBI turned off his security cameras, unplugged his internet, and flipped his house upside down in a search," stated the Hodgetwins account. "The feds called the manufacturer of his Liberty Gun Safe and got the passcode to get into it too. All for protesting at the Capitol over 2 1/2 years ago."

Video of Hughes' arrest shows at least five armed federal agents taking him into custody.

A second video shows a cavalcade of cars pulling up to what is apparently Hughes' property ahead of a raid made easier by Liberty Safe's compliance.

Not so safe

Just over 24 hours after the Hodgetwins detailed what had happened on X, Liberty Safe confirmed in social media posts on Instagram, Facebook, and X that the company provided the FBI with the pass code.

"On August 30, 2023, Liberty Safe was contacted by the FBI requesting the access code to the safe of an individual for whom they had a warrant to search their property. Our company protocol is to provide access codes to law enforcement if a warrant grants them access to a property," said the statement. "After receiving the request, we received proof of the valid warrant, and only then did we provide them with an access code. Liberty Safe had no knowledge of any of the details surrounding the investigation at the time."

Notwithstanding its apparent eagerness to crack its own safe for the benefit of the state, the company noted, "Liberty Safe is devoted to protecting the personal property and 2nd amendment rights of our customers and has repeatedly denied requests for access codes without a warrant in the past. We do not give out combinations without proper legal documentation being provided by authorities."

The company, whose safes in many cases cost several thousands of dollars, concluded by reiterating, "Liberty Safe is committed to preserving our customers’ rights, and we will remain unwavering in those values."

As its name would suggest, Liberty Safe specializes in gun safes.

On its website, the company states, "We understand the importance of safeguarding what matters to you — and with our collection of gun safes, you can enjoy peace of mind that comes with knowing that you're protected by the very best America has to offer."

That Hughes' peace of mind was disturbed by the company's uncoerced help prompted outrage online.

Kyle Seraphin, a whistleblower who was an FBI special agent for six years until his suspension in June 2022, suggested, "The irony of the name [of the company] PLUS total cooperation with the government is rich."

The Hodgetwins replied to the company's statement, "And you call yourself 'Liberty'?? Bout to get the Bud Light treatment."

Turning Point Action COO Tyler Bowyer similarly seized upon the Bud Light parallel, writing, "New slogan: 'The Bud Light of Safes!'"

"Absent a court order, you weren't required to give them anything. You voluntarily gave out a combination over a warrant, per your own release, that didn't apply to you or your property," wrote Sean Davis, CEO of the Federalist. "Maybe start marketing your stuff as Bud Light storage."

While many critics took issue with the company's provision of its customer's code, podcaster Tim Pool noted the issue that the company "had the codes in the first place," stressing that "Liberty [S]afes are completely worthless."

Others similarly puzzled over what good it was having a "wildly expensive *safe* if the manufacturer maintains secret back door access they can share with others without your consent."

Since being slammed over its apparent betrayal of a customer's trust, the company has disabled replies on its X posts.

Ice Cube blasts Democrats: 'Nothing has changed' for black people who have supported Democrats for '60 years'

Ice Cube blasts Democrats: 'Nothing has changed' for black people who have supported Democrats for '60 years'

Rapper, actor, and entrepreneur Ice Cube said on a recent podcast that "nothing has changed" for black people who have "overwhelmingly" supported Democrats for over 50 years, and insisted that change is needed.

On the "Full Send Podcast," which has previously hosted President Trump, Tucker Carlson, and even O.J. Simpson, Ice Cube was asked about his support for Trump in the 2020 election cycle.

"When you kind of supported Trump and stuff like that, what did you think about it, because you're [in] Hollywood, you know, there's a lot of, like, propaganda and stuff like that. What was that like, getting flak for that?" asked host Kyle Forgeard.

"I never supported Trump or Biden. I never asked to speak to the Republicans or the Democrats," the artist replied. "I created a document called 'The Contract with Black America' that spelled out a lot of different issues that we believe were the reasons why [there] was so much unrest after George Floyd was killed," he continued.

"[Do] you think there's like a stigma amongst like the African-American community to Republicans and stuff like that?" Forgeard then asked.

"I don't know what's going on in the African-American community when it comes to that, you know? I mean like black people have supported Democrats, you know, overwhelmingly for 50, 60 years, and nothing has changed. So, something's got to change," he explained.

“.@icecube is right, black people can’t keep blindly supporting Democrats anymore 💯”
— Hodgetwins (@Hodgetwins) 1684724566

The movie star also explained how his "Contract with Black America" was well received by Democrats and Republicans, both of whom reached out to him prior to the 2020 election:

"I released the document and everybody wanted to talk to me. The Republicans asked to talk to me and the Democrats. I went to talk to both of them about the contract. The Republicans asked could they implement some things from the contract into their proposal. And I said the document was open for anybody to use in any way they desire."

He described how he met with Democrats, who told him, “'We like 90% of what’s in there and we’ll talk to you after the election about it.' And I said 'Okay.' And I felt like, after that, everybody started to pile on and say that I was for Trump and I was for this and I was for that. It’s not true."

However, Ice Cube has also previously expressed that Democrats placated him until after the 2020 election, but never followed through on holding a meeting.

The 55-year-old's document regarding black Americans includes a reparations plan, federal baby bonds, and "a one-time interest free loan for home ownership" to qualified black Americans from the Federal Reserve.

Georgia deputy body-slams man, fractures his skull, and arrests him after mistaking him for a burglar. Viral dashcam footage prompts a second review.

Tyler Canaris reportedly took to a Georgia road in the early hours of March 4, 2022, keen to walk to work. Instead of reaching his destination, Canaris got worked over by a Paulding County sheriff's deputy, who mistook the 30-year-old for a burglar.

Dash camera footage of the interaction has recently gone viral, prompting greater scrutiny of Canaris' bone-breaking arrest and his subsequent obstruction charges. The Facebook page belonging to the sheriff's office has been deluged with critical comments and calls for rectification.

What are the details?

Around 6 a.m. on March 4, Paulding County Sheriff's Deputy Michael McMaster was responding to a call of a suspicious person breaking into vehicles in the Evans Mill subdivision in Dallas, Georgia, reported WAGA.

Sgt. Ashley Henson with the PCSO stated, "When deputies responded to that area, they made contact with a person matching the description."

A dashcam video of the interaction shows Canaris walking along the side of the road when the deputy zeroes in with high beams and stops his progress.

"Let's see your hands," says McMaster.

Canaris, listening to headphones, appears confused. Upon realizing he is being issued orders, he takes out an earbud in time to hear the deputy demand that he keep his hands out of his pockets and that he also ought to take off his backpack.

"You're being detained," says the deputy, grabbing Canaris' right arm and beginning to pull the man's backpack off.

"Excuse me, what am I doing wrong? ... Can you explain this?" asks Canaris, noting that he is simply headed to work.

McMaster marches Canaris over to the hood of his cruiser and indicates that he matches the description of someone breaking into cars.

Canaris gesticulates as he tells the deputy he hasn't broken into any cars, then McMaster body-slams him against the pavement.

McMaster later stated, "Tyler was making movements with his hands I was unable to see due to the lack of sunlight; my blue/white lights were extremely bright as well. ... Tyler again attempted to loosen my grip and tried to turn around to face me. I still have not patted Tyler down for weapons at this point. Tyler's left hand went towards his waist band, out of my view. I then gained control of Tyler and escorted him to the ground to better control him."

Suffering multiple brone fractures, Canaris groans in pain, while McMaster calls him a "dumb bastard."

When Canaris complains of the pain, another deputy repeatedly tells him to "shut the f*** up."

Amid his cries, Canaris reiterates, "I was just going to work," to which McMaster, rifling through his detainee's belongings, replies, "Act like a f***ing man."

After digging through Canaris' bag, McMaster appears exasperated, at which time he tells Canaris to "relax," noting to the other deputy, "He hit his head pretty good."

Canaris was rushed to a hospital with a skull fracture and a clavicle fracture. Since he still had an earbud in his left ear when he hit the ground, court documents indicated his ear was also injured.

Canaris was ultimately charged with obstruction of an officer, a misdemeanor charge. McMaster, meanwhile, reportedly went back into service right afterward.

“Dude is walking to work and gets body slammed and arrested? This shit has to stop.

“Sheriff's officials say it was later determined he was not breaking into cars, but he was charged with Obstruction of Justice, and is still facing those charges.”
”
— Hodgetwins (@Hodgetwins) 1676812233

Sgt. Henson noted that in the wake of the video's wide circulation, the PCSO decided "to get the GBI involved and let them look at it and get their unbiased third party opinion on what took place, and if there were any criminal actions that took place in that incident."

"We're aware of the optics of this incident. At this point, because we've turned the case over to the GBI, and there is pending potential civil litigation in the case, we're going to opt not to elaborate on that portion of the case," added Henson.

Here is the full video of the encounter:

Black Hawk helicopter crashes in Alabama, killing 2 Tennessee National Guardsmen

A UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter crashed near an Alabama highway on Wednesday afternoon, killing two Tennessee National Guardsmen who were conducting a training flight, WAAY-TV reported.

As of Thursday morning, Highway 53 in Harvest, Alabama, was still blocked off as federal and state authorities continued investigating the fatal helicopter crash that occurred around 3 p.m. on Wednesday.

Don Webster, a Huntsville Emergency Medical Services spokesperson, reported that the helicopter caught fire upon impact. Law enforcement has not released details about what led up to the crash.

Tammy Adams, a bystander driving along the highway when the fatal accident occurred, told WAAY, "I just hollered, 'My Lord! My God!' Because nobody could have survived that."

"We heard a very loud — like a car without a muffler, but we knew it was in the sky. Looking up in the air, we saw the helicopter, and BAM! We hear it hit. We saw it hit the ground, and it exploded," Adams added.

The Tennessee National Guard confirmed that the two crew members on board the aircraft did not survive the incident. Additional identifying information has not been released.

Madison County Coroner Tyler Berryhill reported that the guardsmen's remains were extracted from the crash site Wednesday evening. Autopsies will be conducted at a later date by the Armed Forces Medical Examiner's Office.

No additional injuries were reported.

"We are deeply saddened by the loss of two Tennessee National Guardsmen, and our prayers are with their families during this heartbreaking tragedy," said Brig. Gen. Warner Ross, Tennessee's adjutant general. "We ask Tennesseans to join us in supporting their families during this time of unthinkable grief."

Alabama Rep. Dale Strong (R) posted on Twitter, "I'm deeply saddened by the fatal helicopter crash that happened in Madison County today. My heart hurts for those who lost their lives in this tragic incident and for their families as they learn of this news."

"I am in communication with local and state officials to learn the details of this crash. Right now we know it was a Black Hawk that crashed in north Madison County. There are no survivors," Strong added.

Tennessee Governor Bill Lee (R) tweeted, "Maria & I are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of two Tennessee National Guard members. Please join us in lifting their families up in prayer & support during this time of unspeakable grief."

According to the Madison County Sheriff's Office, authorities anticipate that Highway 53 will remain closed in both directions "well into the later afternoon hours" Thursday.

"We expect heavy delays in this area throughout the evening," the sheriff's office stated.

Media suddenly remembers how WALLS WORK after Biden agrees to complete part of Trump’s border wall

On direct orders from President Joe Biden, the Department of Homeland Security has released 79,652 migrants into the United States in just the last month after they were detained for illegally crossing the southern border. This brings the total number of illegals that have been caught and released into the United States on Biden's watch to 1.335 million people.

"At this pace, the ones that we catch and release — not the ones that we didn't catch — [will total] 3.5 million illegal immigrants in the United States in [Biden's] first term," said Glenn Beck on the radio program.

Biden’s border crisis is getting EVEN WORSE | #shortsyoutu.be

Perhaps these shocking statistics had something to do with the Biden administration's quiet approval of a plan to complete a portion of former President Donald Trump's border wall in southern Arizona.

On Thursday, Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas authorized the completion of the U.S.- Mexico border wall in Arizona’s "Yuma Sector," despite Biden's oft-repeated promise that "not another foot" of Trump's wall would be constructed while he is president.

A Department of Homeland Security announcement cited "immediate life and safety risks" for migrants attempting to cross into the United States illegally as well as the first responders and agents working in the area "where there is a risk of drownings and injuries from falls."

Interestingly, mainstream media outlets seem to have suddenly seen the light when it comes to the actual function of a wall. Yes, walls provide security and help keep people safe. Biden's border walls "will better protect migrants who can get hurt slipping down a slope or drown walking through a low section of the Colorado River," according to NBC News.

But people on social media noticed more than a slight discrepancy in the way news about the border wall was framed under President Trump.

In 2020, NBC News said "President Trump's border wall endangered ecosystems and sacred sites." But on Friday, they said closing the gaps in the wall "won’t be much of a deterrent," according to Arizona environmentalist Myles Traphagen who has been "mapping ecological damage left by border wall construction" under former President Trump.

“@NBCNews Quite the different framing here.”
— NBC News (@NBC News) 1659074282

"Biden had pledged during his campaign to cease all future wall construction, but the administration later agreed to some barriers, citing safety," AP News reported.

— Justin (@Justin) 1659103724

"In addition to posing 'safety and life hazard risks for migrants,' the [D]epartment [of Homeland Security] said the gaps in the wall presented 'life and safety' risks to first responders in the area," reported CNN.

"Completion of the wall was at the top of former President Donald Trump’s agenda, and border security remains a potent issue for candidates of both parties going into this year’s primary elections. President Joe Biden halted new wall construction after he took office, but he has since made closing the gaps just south of Yuma a priority," said NBC News.

“A couple of bold governors, like @GregAbbott_TX, gave liberal cities just a small taste of what the out of control border crisis feels like for us border states and months later, @JoeBiden started building the wall.

Just amazing.

https://t.co/HNUgAQrHkd”

Steven Crowder: Impeachment trial is about the First Amendment, NOT Trump

The Senate voted 56-44 on Tuesday to move to a trial to impeach former President Donald Trump. In this clip, Steven Crowder described the trial as an "attack on the First Amendment rather than being about Trump."

Crowder believes the Democrat Party [and some Republicans] are willing to criminalize conservatives for saying something that is
"unpopular." He believes the impeachment of a former president is about publicly punishing someone for questioning the system that is in place.
