Country over party: Dem DA in Texas supports Sen. Ted Cruz in new ad

The lame-duck Democrat district attorney of the largest county in Texas has endorsed the re-election campaign of Republican U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, appearing in an ad to discuss their shared goal of protecting Texans against criminal illegal aliens.

After eight years as district attorney of Harris County, Texas, which includes most of Houston, Democrat Kimberly Ogg has fallen out of favor with her party. Not only did she doggedly pursue criminal indictments against high-level staff members of County Judge Lina Hidalgo in connection with COVID funding, but she has also strongly opposed the "catch-and-release" policies implemented by the Biden-Harris administration.

'Democrats and Republicans must work together to solve Texans' problems now.'

In July, Ogg and Cruz penned an op-ed together suggesting that these border policies apparently gave two Venezuelan nationals the opportunity to murder 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray of Houston.

"Both men charged with Jocelyn’s murder had just recently entered Texas illegally and been captured in El Paso, where they were enrolled in the 'Alternatives to Detention' program," Ogg and Cruz wrote. "This meant they were released into the interior of the United States, despite the availability of ICE detention center beds, where they could have been held until their immigration court hearings. This program did not protect Jocelyn. In fact, such 'catch and release' policies don’t protect anyone."

The following month, Ogg officially endorsed Cruz in his re-election race against U.S. Rep. Colin Allred (D-Texas), claiming that curtailing violent crime was "bigger than partisanship."

Now, Ogg appears in a new ad for Cruz, similarly touting their cooperative efforts to prevent criminal illegal aliens from wreaking havoc on American soil.

As "the top law enforcement official in Harris County," Ogg insists in the video that she is "voting for Ted Cruz because he's working to keep Texans safe."

"Ted introduced legislation that would keep violent illegal aliens behind bars until trial," Ogg continues, referring to the Justice for Jocelyn Act, which would effectively counteract catch-and-release.

"Democrats and Republicans must work together to solve Texans' problems now," Ogg adds in the ad.

"Our safety is on the line."

Ogg's 30-second pitch for Cruz can be seen here.

Ogg may be the "top law enforcement official in Harris County" now, but she won't be for long. In March, challenger Sean Teare, who used to work for Ogg, trounced her in the Democratic primary. Her second term in office will expire on December 31.

While Cruz and his team hope that Ogg's endorsement will sway independents and less partisan Democrats frustrated by the problems at the border, state Democrat leaders aren't buying it.

"Because of Kim Ogg’s divisive tenure as DA, Harris County voters resoundingly rejected her by 50 points. Everyone knows that outside of an election year, Ted Cruz has no real interest in working with both parties. Voters will reject this failed rebrand attempt come November," said Texas Democratic Party Executive Director Monique Alcala.

Drunk illegal alien runs red light and crashes pickup into two cars, killing 22-year-old coach, according to New Mexico police

A man who caused a lethal accident while under the influence of alcohol is an illegal alien, according to federal law enforcement.

21-year-old Jesus Sandoval-Martinez was driving a black 2008 Dodge pickup when he ran a red light and slammed into two other vehicles in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on Monday just after midnight.

'Witnesses told police the man was slurring his speech and appeared to be impaired.'

Police said that they found open alcohol containers in the pickup.

The other vehicles were a Tesla and a Corolla. One of the drivers, Tiger Gutierrez, died after being transported to a hospital while the other driver, Mia Montoya, was critically injured. A third person in the crash received minor injuries.

Sandoval-Martinez tried to flee from the scene after the crash, but witnesses stopped him and detained him until police arrived. Arrest records say that witnesses told police the man was slurring his speech and appeared to be impaired.

Police said he failed sobriety tests and found no record of his being issued a driver's license. He was transported to the University of New Mexico Hospital, where he told police that he had only ingested two beers that evening.

Sandoval-Martinez was charged with two counts of vehicular homicide, reckless driving, and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in great bodily harm or death before he was booked into the Bernalillo County jail.

ICE later confirmed that he was illegally present in the U.S. and issued an immigration detainer for the man. He is reportedly from Mexico. They added that they had no prior encounters with the man.

Both of the victims in the crash were volleyball coaches, according to an Instagram post from the E3 Volleyball program.

Illegal alien crime has become a pivotal issue in the 2024 presidential campaign after immigrants crossed the Mexico-U.S. border at historic rates. Former President Donald Trump has blamed current President Joe Biden and his lax policies for the illegal crossings and for any violent crime committed by illegal aliens.

A recent poll found that a large majority of Americans see illegal alien crime as one of the top issues of the campaign and also that Democrats are to blame for easing restrictions at the border, 79% and 64% respectively.

Illegal alien allegedly butchers girlfriend in Texas. Jail records list his race as 'white.'

A woman was apparently stabbed to death in Texas, and police believe her boyfriend, an illegal alien, is responsible.

Around 6:15 on Monday morning, police in Irving, Texas, received a call requesting service at the 3100 block of Walnut Hill Lane, located just east of the Dallas-Forth Worth International Airport.

Aldazabal's country of origin and when he entered the US are both unknown. Of four different Texas outlets that reported on the story, only one referenced the suspect's immigration status.

When officers arrived, they made a grisly discovery: 42-year-old Sucel Cuba Gomez was lying dead in a parking lot. She had been stabbed multiple times.

Within a few hours, cops had already arrested a suspect: 44-year-old Yunier Aldazabal. Police believe that after the stabbing, Aldazabal "had fled the area in a vehicle," which was subsequently located about 20 miles east. Aldazabal was then taken into custody without incident and charged with murder.

The police press release claimed Aldazabal and the victim had been in "a dating relationship." It is unclear what evidence tied Aldazabal to the crime.

Aldazabal remains in custody at Dallas County Jail. Jail records list his race as "white," even though other racial categories — Asian, black, Hispanic, and non-Hispanic — are available at the jail website.

Jail records also note that Aldazabal has an immigration hold against him because of a pending "illegal alien" charge. That hold appears to have been issued around 4 a.m. on Wednesday. It also means he has been denied bond, even though he was assessed a bond of $1 million in connection with the murder charge.

Aldazabal's country of origin and when he entered the U.S. are both unknown. Of four different Texas outlets that reported on the story, only one referenced the suspect's immigration status. The Dallas Morning News gave the information in the final paragraph, sandwiched in between statements about the murder charge against Aldazabal and a possible bond.

The other outlets — WFAA, FOX 4, and the Killeen Daily Herald — did not mention Aldazabal's immigration status at all. In fairness, the initial press release from Irving PD, posted to X at around 3:20 p.m. on Tuesday, does not mention it either, an indication that the information may not have been widely known. The Dallas Morning News story with the immigration information, however, was published about 10 minutes after the Irving PD X post.

The investigation into Gomez's death remains ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Hilton at THilton@cityofirving.org or (972) 721-2754. Anonymous tips can also be submitted at any time, day or night, to IPDCrimeTips@cityofirving.org or by calling (972) 273-1010 and referencing case number 24-14634.

5 illegal aliens from Mexico and Honduras allegedly kidnapped teenage Indiana girl who thought she was meeting online friend

Missouri police arrested five illegal immigrants from Mexico and Honduras after they allegedly kidnapped a teenage girl from Indiana who thought she was meeting someone from social media.

Indiana police said they were alerted to a report of a missing 14-year-old by the girl's father from their home in Cass County just before 2 a.m. He told police that he saw her get into a strange vehicle very early in the morning on Sunday, which was Father's Day.

She thought she was meeting someone whom she had gotten to know online.

Missouri State Highway Patrol said they were notified about the missing girl on Monday.

Court documents indicated that the Cass County Sheriff's Office pinged the girl's phone and found her location in Hannibal, Missouri. After informing local authorities, the highway patrol was able to locate a vehicle matching the description and initiated a traffic stop.

Police said they found the girl in the vehicle with five males, and she told them that she was the missing teenager. After an investigation, they arrested the five men for kidnapping and endangering the welfare of a child.

The five men were booked into the Macon County Jail and identified by police as Marlon Aguilar and Carlos Funez of Honduras and Arturo Eustaquio, Noe Guzman Hernandez, and Daniel Ruiz Lopez from Mexico.

The men are being held without bond because prosecutors say they are a flight risk due to their immigration status.

The girl reportedly told police that she thought she was meeting someone whom she had gotten to know online.

Investigators believe the vehicle was heading to California. Each of the five suspects could face up to seven years in prison if convicted for kidnapping.

The girl is reportedly safe and back home with her family.

Experts have warned parents that they should carefully monitor their children's behavior on social media and limit their access to prevent online predators from targeting them.

'Fear and uncertainty.'

Illegal immigrant crime is a growing concern among voters ahead of the November presidential election. While former President Donald Trump has continued his promises of deporting illegal immigrants, border crossings have skyrocketed during the Biden administration.

On Tuesday, President Joe Biden announced executive action that would implement the greatest amnesty for illegal immigrants since the DACA order during the Obama administration. Critics accused him of unconstitutionally changing policy without the approval of Congress, which was also a challenge lobbed against former President Barack Obama's amnesty order.

"They've been living in the United States all of this time, in fear and uncertainty," said Biden at the announcement. "We can fix that, and that's why I'm gonna do today!"

3 illegal aliens allegedly kidnapped Florida woman and sexually assaulted her; one had been previously cited and released

Florida police say three illegal aliens kidnapped a woman and committed sexual battery against her before she was able to escape.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said the female victim was forced into a car on Monday by three suspects at about 1 a.m. in a residential area of Lake Osborne Drive near John Prince Park.

They allegedly sexually battered the woman at two separate locations. Police said that at one location near the intersection of Congress Ave. and Melaleuca Lane, they filmed the sexual battery.

"Thankfully, the victim was able to escape and flag down a passerby to help her," said Palm Beach County Sheriff's spokeswoman Teri Barbera.

The passerby took her to a hospital and alerted police.

Police were able to identify the Guatemalan trio as 29-year-old Andres Felipe Morales, 30-year-old Darinel Ordonez Jimenez, and 31-year-old Marcos Felipe Ramirez. They were arrested and booked into the Palm Beach County jail on Monday at about 7 p.m. Morales was charged with sexual assault and false imprisonment while Jimenez and Ramirez were charged with two counts of felony criminal conspiracy.

One of the suspects, Morales, had been previously cited for not having a driver's license in January. WPTV reported that the state attorney had abandoned the charges. The records said that the charges were dropped in exchange for Morales paying a $100 fine and obtaining a valid driver's license, but that is impossible since he is an illegal alien.

Residents of the area spoke to WPTV-TV about the horrible accusations.

"It sounds awful and I hope she's OK, and that sounds scary. That's definitely not the norm here," said Alyssa Suarez, who was picking up trash around the lake. "It’s really quiet. It’s really peaceful."

"I didn’t hear anything. No sirens. No screams. No nothing," said Lauren Theesen, who didn't worry before about her children but now does. "I have children, I have a younger daughter, myself, by myself going for walks, it's just crazy."

Republicans have vehemently criticized the Biden administration for the worsening crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border. Democrats have tried to deflect the blame by accusing Republicans of cynically rejecting a bipartisan proposal on immigration in order to use the issue in the 2024 election.

Each of the three suspects was given a bond of $200,000. They are next scheduled to appear in court on April 10.

Illegal alien arrested for allegedly raping 11-year-old Utah girl as ICE reveals staggering number of sex offender arrests

An illegal alien from Guatemala was arrested in Utah and charged with raping an 11-year-old girl, according to reports.

Jonathan Estuardo Ruano Garcia, 26, was arrested early on Monday morning by Provo Police.

Ruano Garcia was hit with felony charges of rape of a child, enticing a minor, and forgery.

The forgery charge stemmed from Ruano Garcia reportedly possessing a Social Security card in his wallet at the time of being booked into the Utah County Jail that authorities said "did not appear to be authentic."

"When asked about the Social Security card, Ruano Garcia admitted that it was fake and that he paid money for it when he came to the United States," police said.

Around 11:15 p.m. on Sunday, a mother returned to her apartment in Provo, Utah. She reportedly saw an adult male leaving the apartment and made eye contact with the man before he "quickly walked away."

According to arrest documents, the mother found her 11-year-old daughter completely naked in the hallway.

"The 11-year-old girl told her mother that a male she met on the internet came to the apartment and had sex with her," the police report said, according to KSL.

The Guatemalan national allegedly told police that he had sex with the girl for 20 to 30 minutes.

Ruano Garcia claimed to have believed that the girl was 13 or 14 years of age.

The illegal immigrant reportedly met the victim at a soccer game and continued communicating with the minor on social media, the Lehi Free Press reported.

"Ruano Garcia admitted that the chats he had with the victim turned sexual and he sent naked photos of his penis on multiple occasions," the police report stated.

Investigators used the social media interactions to help them quickly track down Ruano Garcia at his home in the nearby town of Lehi.

Ruano Garcia is currently being held without bail at the Utah County Jail along with an Immigration and Customs Enforcement hold.

ICE recently announced a staggering number of illegal immigrants who were arrested for sex crimes last month.

Between Feb. 5 and 16, 2024, ICE arrested "275 unlawfully present noncitizen sex offenders during a nationwide law enforcement effort."

"ICE is committed to protecting America through the arrest and removal of those who undermine public safety and disregard our laws," said ICE Deputy Director and Senior Official Performing the Duties of the Director Patrick J. Lechleitner. "Thanks to the around-the-clock efforts of our Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) officers, our communities are safe from 275 individuals who have demonstrated their willingness to commit sex crimes against innocent people, including children."

Man arrested for brutal murder of Georgia nursing student, Laken Hope Riley, is reportedly a non-citizen from Venezuela

A suspect was arrested on Friday in connection with the brutal murder of a Georgia nursing student.

The University of Georgia Police Department arrested 26-year-old Jose Antonio Ibarra on Friday in connection to the murder of 22-year-old Laken Hope Riley.

University Police Chief Jeff Clark said Ibarra is not a U.S. citizen and did not attend the university.

"According to multiple DHS sources, he is here illegally from Venezuela. Sources confirm he crossed in September of 2022 into El Paso, Texas, and was released due to lack of detention space," NewsNation reported.

Ibarra is being held on charges of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, false imprisonment, kidnapping, hindering a 911 call, and concealing the death of another, according to WSB-TV.

Police believe that Ibarra did not know Riley, and said the murder of the nursing student at Augusta University was a "crime of opportunity."

“He saw an individual and bad things happened,” University of Georgia Police Chief Jeff Clark said at a news conference on Friday. "This was an individual who woke up with bad intentions that day."

Police do not know of a motive as of yet.

Riley's maimed body was found around 12:38 p.m. on Thursday in a wooded area behind Lake Herrick at the University of Georgia campus in Athens. Police said she was "unconscious and not breathing, and had visible injuries." First responders pronounced her dead at the crime scene.

She reportedly went jogging on the UGA campus, and was reported missing by a friend at 12:07 p.m. on Thursday.

Riley's cause of death was from blunt force trauma, according to police.

Riley was a student at UGA until last spring, when she transferred to the nearby Augusta University.

She was a junior and a dean's list student, according to the school.

Classes at the UGA Athens campus and the Augusta University College of Nursing campus at Athens were canceled on Friday.

The UGA Police Department, Georgia Bureau of Investigation, and Athens-Clarke County Police Department launched an investigation into the grisly murder.

Ibarra's brother, Diego Ibarra, was arrested during the investigation for allegedly presenting fake green cards after law enforcement confronted him.

ABC News reported, "Diego Ibarra has been charged by federal complaint with possessing a fake green card and is in state custody."

Riley's younger sister, Lauren, shared a heart-wrenching tribute to her "built-in best friend."

"The best sister and my built-in best friend from the very first second," the distraught sister wrote on Instagram. "This isn’t fair and I will never understand it but I know you are in heaven with the man you loved most right now. I’m not sure how I’m going to do this but it’s all going to be for you from now on. I cannot wait to give you the biggest hug someday. I will miss and love you forever Laken."

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, who is a UGA alum, said he and his family were "truly shaken and heartbroken to learn of Laken Riley’s tragic death."

The UGA Police Department is asking anyone with information to call 706-542-2200.

Horrific head-on crash leaves 8 dead after suspect smuggling 5 illegal aliens led Texas police on high-speed chase

Eight people are dead after a horrific head-on crash in Texas when a human smuggler transporting five illegal aliens led police on a high-speech chase.

Zavala County Sheriff's deputies were in pursuit of a Honda Civic on U.S. Highway 57 early Wednesday when the vehicle tried to pass an 18-wheeler in a no-passing zone and crashed into a Chevy SUV.

The two occupants of the Chevy SUV died immediately after it burst into flames. Four immigrants in the car also died along with the 21-year-old human smuggler from Houston. Police said they were from Honduras.

Two occupants of the Chevy SUV were later identified as 67-year-old Jose Lerma and 65-year-old Isabel Lerma of Dalton, Georgia.

Zavala County Sheriff Eusebio Salinas said that human smuggling has become a growing problem in the area because US-57 connects to a main road to Mexico.

“At one point we were averaging 10 to 12 pursuits in a 24-hour period. Yes, that’s an eye-opener, especially in a county my size,” he said.

“57 is one of our major corridors to Mexico, to Piedras Negras from IH-35,” Salinas explained. "Last year alone we had over 400 arrests of human smuggling cases."

Rebeca Ramirez, the owner of Rebeca Styling Salon in the area, told KSAT-TV she had a nickname for the highway.

"I call it the death road because it’s too much traffic going out from Eagle Pass, San Antonio, and it’s just chaos,” said Ramirez.

In October, law enforcement members in Arizona warned that human traffickers were using social media to recruit drivers to pick up illegal aliens and transport them across the country. One officer called it the "Uber for the cartels."

Driver who allegedly killed child in school bus crash is an illegal alien released into US under Biden policy: Report

The man who was arrested for allegedly causing a lethal school bus crash in Ohio is reportedly an illegal alien who was released into the U.S. under the Biden administration.

Breitbart News reported that a spokesperson from Immigration and Customs Enforcement confirmed that Hermanio Joseph had arrived at the U.S.-Mexico border in Aug. 2022 and was a citizen of Haiti.

Joseph was arrested after officials said the Honda Odyssey minivan he was driving veered into the opposing lane and hit a school bus that was carrying over 50 children on the first day of school. The bus flipped over, and an 11-year-old boy died after being ejected. Another 23 children were injured, and one had life-threatening injuries.

Joseph was originally reported to be from Springfield, and investigators said that he carried a driver's license from Mexico, which was not valid because of his immigration status.

After he was apprehended at the border, he was released into the U.S. with a Notice to Appear in federal court, and he ended up in Ohio.

Democrat President Joe Biden has been criticized by many on the right for the massive surge on the border that has led to many asylum seekers being allowed into the country. Some Republican lawmakers have responded by shipping migrants to Democrat-controlled cities which have declared themselves "sanctuary cities."

Joseph was indicted on a charge of vehicular manslaughter and one charge of involuntary manslaughter. Assistant county prosecutor Greg Morris said that additional charges may be considered, pending the completion of the investigation.

There was also a 37-year-old passenger in the minivan during the crash, but prosecutors said they do not expect charges to be filed against him.

Joseph is being held at the Clark County jail on a bond of $100,000.

Illegal alien dismembered man who overdosed and flushed his organs in order to avoid deportation, police say

An illegal alien admitted that he dismembered the body of a man who died in his apartment because he feared being deported, according to police.

The Phoenix Police Department said officers responded to a call of "unknown trouble" related to a foul odor emanating from two bags in an alley in Phoenix, Arizona, on June 28.

They discovered human remains in the bag from a dismembered body that they later identified as belonging to 34-year-old Jose Gutierrez.

Surveillance video led police to identify a suspect, and they were able to locate him at a nearby apartment complex.

Police arrested 30-year-old Carlos Guadalupe Leon Soto on July 18 and said that he had admitted under questioning to dismembering Gutierrez but claimed that he did not kill him.

Soto allegedly told police that he had met Gutierrez around June 19 as Soto was working at a Mexican food store. He said that he and Gutierrez slept in the same bed but denied that they were in a sexual relationship, according to police.

Court documents said that approximately three days later, Gutierrez died of an overdose at the apartment while Soto's roommates were away for a few days.

Soto allegedly told police that he feared deportation so he "threw him away," referring to Gutierrez.

Prosecutors say Soto admitted to dismembering Gutierrez's body with a kitchen knife then flushing some of his body organs down a toilet before storing his severed body parts in plastic and garbage bags.

Investigators said that they found severed arms, legs, and the man's lower torso inside of two trash bags. Soto also allegedly led investigators to the location of the severed head of the victim.

Soto is charged with three felonies: abandonment or concealment of a dead body, tampering with physical evidence, and hindering prosecution.

Here's more about the gruesome case:
