‘What Stocks Should I Buy?’: Security Drags Away Comedian Who Trolled Nancy Pelosi At Her Own Book Event

‘We do, oh Nancy, listen,’ Strenger said as two security officials began to move him away

The REAL reason George Santos was expelled from Congress

Google George Santos and you’ll find a surplus of headlines citing fraud and campaign finance violations, among other accusations. The list of federal felony charges the expelled congressman faces is as follows:

  • one count of conspiracy to commit offenses against the United States
  • two counts of wire fraud
  • two counts of making materially false statements to the Federal Election Commission
  • two counts of falsifying records submitted to obstruct the FEC
  • two counts of aggravated identity theft
  • one count of access device fraud
  • seven counts of wire fraud
  • three counts of money laundering
  • one count of theft of public funds
  • two counts of making materially false statements to the United States House of Representatives

That’s 23 total charges that Santos will answer to in court next month.

According to Santos, however, the only reason he’s been hit with a slew of felonies is because he’s exposed the insidious corruption in Congress.

“I went from being a member of Congress (previously a private equity professional) to becoming a professional s**t poster on social media, and let me tell you something ... nobody's willing to say that Congress inside trades. Nobody's willing to sit here and tell you Dan Crenshaw is a dirty insider trader,” he tells James Poulos, pointing to the Blaze Originals documentary “Bought and Paid For” released earlier this year that explains how congressmen and women get filthy rich despite their moderate salaries.

Santos says he does it because “the American people deserve to know the scumbags that are in Congress today.”

However, he believes that his boldness is why he’s been ousted and charged with a litany of offenses.

He points to Texas Democrat Sen. Henry Cuellar as proof.

“His indictment says he's been taking bribes from a Mexican bank and the country of Azerbaijan for the last ten years, which means he's been corrupt since the day he got here. I think that's far more than the BS they try to pin on me,” says Santos, and yet despite his crimes, Cuellar is considered “an honorable member with great relationships and accomplishments.”

To hear Santos spill the tea on his least favorite members of Congress, like Eric Swalwell's intimate relations with a Chinese spy, watch the episode above.

Following Blaze Originals documentary, senators from both parties reach deal to ban congressional stock trading

U.S. senators from both parties announced on Wednesday that they had created a bill that would ban congressional stock trading, an issue so important that Blaze Media created a Blaze Originals documentary — entitled "Bought and Paid For: How Politicians Get Filthy Rich" — about it earlier this year to put pressure on federal lawmakers and keep our audience in the know.

While the STOCK Act, passed in 2012, technically requires members of Congress to be more transparent about their stock trades as well as those of their spouse, it has done little to curtail the seemingly rampant shady stock trades from members of both parties that "Bought and Paid For" exposed.

According to a University of Maryland poll, fully 85% of Americans want to ban stock trades for members of Congress.

Now, four senators — Democrats Jeff Merkley of Oregon, Jon Ossoff of Georgia, and Gary Peters of Michigan and Republican Josh Hawley of Missouri — have developed new legislation with heftier penalties that may finally resolve the problem once and for all.

Their plan is called the ETHICS Act, and if passed, it would prevent members of Congress from buying or selling stock or similar investments beginning 90 days after the bill is signed into law. It would further prohibit congressional spouses and other members of their immediate family from purchasing stocks as of March 2027.

Violations of the law would result in a fine of either a month's salary or 10% of each asset's value, whichever is greater.

According to a University of Maryland poll, fully 85% of Americans want to ban stock trades for members of Congress. Between the countrywide consensus regarding the issue and the bipartisan nature of the legislation, supporters of the ETHICS Act are hopeful that it may in fact pass, despite the contentious election season and the failure of similar legislative efforts in the past.

The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee is already scheduled to begin considering the bill on July 24.

Meanwhile, members of Blaze Media are already celebrating the bill as a major victory following the release of "Bought and Paid For" in April. James Poulos, host of "Bought and Paid For" as well as the editor at large of Blaze Media and the editorial director of its RETURN division, is particularly encouraged by this turn of events.

"Members of Congress can get rich on stock trades thanks to their special access to information ordinary Americans don’t have — and many do just that, because wrongdoing is so hard to prove in court and current congressional rules are so lax," he told Blaze News.

"Americans across party lines agree this practice should be brought to an end, and cracking down boasts bipartisan support on the Hill. It’s heartening to see a new group of senators take a fresh swing at a solution that’s long overdue."

Bipartisan Group Of Senators Strike Deal To Ban Congressional Stock Trading

The legislation will be submitted to committee on July 24th

The dirty trick that lines Congress' pockets but would put YOU in jail

After three and a half years of Bidenomics, “a lot of people are struggling more than they have in a very long time,” says Glenn Beck. “Everybody is like that.”

“Well, not everybody,” he mocks, pointing at the cover of BlazeTV’s latest documentary, “Bought and Paid For: How Politicians Get Filthy Rich,” which features a picture of Nancy Pelosi surrounded by stacks of cash.

In this Blaze Originals episode, we very clearly show you “why [members of Congress] never retire.”

Its roots go back to Karl Marx, the Bolsheviks, and Mao Zedong. What did they have in common?

“They all stated in their own ways that they wanted to take money from one group of people and give it to another group of people,” calling it “an economy for everyone,” says Glenn.

We’ve heard suspiciously similar iterations from our own politicians, including Nancy Pelosi, Bernie Sanders, and Hilary Clinton, among others.

But no matter if it’s Russia, China, Cuba, or Venezuela, every time this rhetoric has been used, it has always meant the same thing: “the elites end up being the people who write the laws,” and “they're the ones who get rich” — never the people.

What makes American politicians different? Nothing. They’re also getting richer as the people get poorer, but so many of us don’t have a clue about their shady dealings.

So, how are they doing it?

Let’s just say they’ve found a practice that far outperforms what the country’s leading financial experts are capable of — a practice ordinary citizens don’t have access to.

New Blaze Media doc exposes shady insider trading from 'filthy rich' Democrats and Republicans in Congress

New Blaze Media doc exposes shady insider trading from 'filthy rich' Democrats and Republicans in Congress

The latest installment of Blaze Originals documentaries, "Bought and Paid For: How Politicians Get Filthy Rich," drops on Wednesday for Blaze Media subscribers, and it covers a topic that is sure to interest — and infuriate — viewers of all political persuasions: insider stock-trading by members of Congress.

In this 30-minute episode, host James Poulos travels to Washington, D.C., the belly of the proverbial beast, to learn the extent of the problem. Even Poulos, a seasoned conservative thinker, appeared shocked by what he learned, noting that "some of the most richly rewarded investors in the world" are members of Congress and that running for Congress would give average Americans their best chance at earning "outsized returns" on stock trades.

During his time in D.C., Poulos chatted with some of the good guys in the fight, including Republican Reps. Matt Gaetz of Florida and Chip Roy of Texas, and learned that the issue is both bipartisan and bicameral, meaning it has infiltrated the U.S. House and Senate.

Rep. Gaetz even takes Poulos on a tour of Capitol Hill, walking past or visiting the offices of some of the worst stock-trading offenders, including Sen. Bob Menendez (D-N.J.), currently under federal indictment for bribery, and Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), whose net worth has skyrocketed in the last 15 years or so from $21 million in 2008 to a current net worth somewhere between $300 and $350 million, the documentary claimed.

Some of the names mentioned, however, are less familiar to the public. They include Rep. Michael Guest (R-Miss.); Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-N.J.), who reportedly sold his stock of Silicon Valley Bank the day before the bank collapsed in March 2023; and Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.), who sits on several influential committees such as the Armed Services Committee and the Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry.

"It's less about the insider trading, although that's a thing. But it's more about the fact that [members of Congress] have an inherent conflict of interest," said Roy, who has repeatedly introduced failed legislation, cosponsored by Democrat Rep. Abigail Spanberger of Virginia, that would prohibit equities trading for members of Congress and their immediate families.

Viewers of "Bought and Paid For" will likely be outraged that so many federal lawmakers brazenly and wantonly seem to engage in unethical stock-trading, but with almost no outside force to police the private behavior of lawmakers and their families, participants in the documentary are skeptical that things will change anytime soon.

"It turns out that congressional stock trading will occur in an ecosystem of shamelessness," Gaetz quipped.

While Blaze Originals documentaries have covered such hot-button topics as the Maui fires and the deplorable conditions at the Texas development Colony Ridge, Blaze Media personalities believe this may be the most powerful episode yet.

"This is maybe the best work our platform has ever done," said BlazeTV host Steve Deace. "It's among the greatest works right-of-center alternative media has ever done. ... It's phenomenal. Don't miss it."
