Jordan Peterson’s case ruling is PROOF that free speech is DEAD in Canada
This week we learned that free speech comes with many caveats in Canada.
Translation: free speech is dead in Canada.
Earlier this week, Dr. Jordan Peterson, clinical psychologist, revered lecturer, and professor emeritus from the University of Toronto, lost the court battle against the College of Psychologists of Ontario, who demanded that Peterson attend re-education training due to “harmful” statements he made in 2022 on his personal social media account.
If Peterson does not attend a re-education program (aka thought control 101) and meet certain criteria (aka regurgitate the accepted narrative), then he risks losing his license to practice clinical psychology.
“Oh Canada…I just wish that you were in the news once in a while for a reason that was not a mind-blowing violation of human rights,” laments Lauren Chen, who’s a Canadian herself.
According to the Post Millennial, a conservative Canadian online news platform, “The College has a Code of Ethics … which states that ‘personal behavior becomes a concern of the discipline only if it is of such a nature that it undermines public trust in the discipline as a whole or if it raises questions about the psychologist’s ability to carry out appropriately his/her responsibilities as a psychologist.”’
The irony is glaring on so many levels.
One, none of the people who raised complaints over Peterson’s social media posts were past or current clients of his, which debunks the idea that he was causing harm or unable to safely practice psychology.
Two, “according to public opinion, way more people are on Jordan Peterson's side than this so-called board of professionals,” again proving that the majority trust the kind of psychology Peterson practices rather than this new science that’s infested with leftist ideology.
And three, what’s really undermining the public’s faith in the field of psychology is the wokeness that’s poisoned the industry. “A lot of people (and I do include myself here) have actually lost faith in the discipline of psychology for being basically entirely captured by the woke and largely pseudo-science,” says Lauren.
Not to mention, this ruling is an egregious assault on freedom of speech. Peterson’s case proves that one’s right to speak freely is a myth in Canada.
“They claim that I have the right to free speech in Canada but subject to, apparently, whatever limitations the college wants to place on me and by implication every other professional in Canada and by implication every other citizen of Canada,” Peterson said in a video following the ruling.
“Free speech is dead in Canada, make no mistake,” says Lauren.
