Joy Reid bugs out in wake of SCOTUS ruling

MSNBC talking head Joy Reid, like many of her liberal peers in the mainstream media, did her part in recent years to present President Joe Biden as capable and competent in hopes of propping him up long enough for Democrats to hold onto the White House for another term. This proved to be a colossal waste of smoke and mirrors as Biden went ahead Thursday and evidenced his mental decline for all to see in his debate with former President Donald Trump.

Reid did not handle the collapse of the illusion well, retreating during a Thursday panel conversation to the comfort of false claims about Trump.

While she managed to make it through the weekend, the U.S. Supreme Court's Monday ruling in Trump v. United States — which determined that a president cannot be charged for performing actions related to the constitutionally established powers of his office — appears to have sent her over the edge.

Reid shared a video to TikTok Monday telling her followers, "This is DEFCON 1, friends."

In her nearly 10-minute meltdown, Reid denigrated the wives of conservative Justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas; suggested only the liberals on the high court care about the Constitution; claimed the SCOTUS ruling enables presidents to arbitrarily murder their opponents and renders treason committed by a president legal; and underscored that she would rather a candidate in a vegetative state take the White House than the presumptive Republican nominee.

"There's been a lot of conversation about a certain old person — an old infirm person who had a really bad debate last week," said Reid.

According to Reid, all the related chatter about Biden's decrepitude, both in private as well as in the columns of publications like the New York Times, was rendered "completely irrelevant" by the Supreme Court's ruling.

Reid, who appears to have glossed over or altogether ignored Chief Justice John Roberts' opinion, suggested that the conservative majority on the court "just declared, days before this nation celebrates its independence presumably from the British king, that the president of the United States and a former president of the United States, that they are a king."

"They have granted monarch-like powers to Donald Trump and declared him immune from prosecution for any acts that can be declared official acts, so any acts that he conducts as president," raved Reid.

Reid regurgitated the radical interpretation provided by Justice Sonia Sotomayor in her dissenting opinion, suggesting that the majority's decision would enable Trump to use SEAL Team Six "to try to assassinate one of his political opponents so long as he did it through the auspices of the presidency."

Clearly unmoored by the debate and the ruling, Reid drifted into a scenario where Trump, having deemed Biden a national security threat, has his family murdered with drones "when they take a foreign trip."

After accusing the high court of conferring to presidents the right to arbitrarily murder their opponents while on vacation, Reid smeared Justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas' wives of being "insurrectionists." She also turned the "insurrectionist" smear on the two justices, going so far as to explicitly accuse Alito of lying about his wife's role in the New York Times' false flag story.

Despite having excitedly covered the Trump impeachment proceedings, Reid later intimated that Congress' failure to convict the object of her antipathy was proof that presidents cannot ultimately be held accountable for heir alleged crimes.

Upon convincing herself that America is now a monarchic republic with an untouchable executive branch that can execute opponents willy-nilly, Reid concluded that the "election is no longer about the old guy that's in the White House now."

"I no longer care. Doesn't matter to me anymore. It's above me now. It's above me now," continued Reid. "Don't care about Joe Biden's age, infirmity, that he shuffle [sic] when he walk [sic]. I don't care. He could be seated for the rest of, from now to Election Day and never get up off a chair. He could sit down, he could roll around in a wheelchair. ... I don't care. Donald John Trump cannot be allowed back into the White House."

Deep into Reid's rant, she had an apparent change of mind and determined that conservative Supreme Court justices are also now American kings.

"They are trying to repeal the entire 20th century," claimed Reid, "and they're doing it fast."

Reid suggested finally that people who did not agree with her were "delusional."

Jason Whitlock DESTROYS Joy Reid and Jemele Hill for Caitlin Clark HATE

[rebelmouse-proxy-image https://www.theblaze.com/media-library/image.jpg?id=52448326&width=2000&height=1500&coordinates=0,0,480,0 crop_info="%7B%22image%22%3A%20%22https%3A//www.theblaze.com/media-library/image.jpg%3Fid%3D52448326%26width%3D2000%26height%3D1500%26coordinates%3D0%2C0%2C480%2C0%22%7D" expand=1]

MSNBC’s Joy Reid and fellow race-baiter Jemele Hill — whom Jason Whitlock calls "two delusional black queens" — made some recent comments about WNBA rookie sensation Caitlin Clark.

Of course, these comments were as bigoted as they consistently claim others to be.

“Somebody very smart said to me recently that the challenge with women’s basketball is that most of the great players are black, but most of the stars are white,” Reid said to Hill. “And like you said, if there were charter flights, Britney Griner would not have ended up in the gulag, right?”

Whitlock is not a fan.

Not only does he note that Reid ridiculously blamed Griner’s arrest on the WNBA not having charter flights, but that both Reid and Hill are “trying desperately to look like white women.”

“Why do I bring this up? Because when I talk about bigotry over business, the bigotry and the hostility stems from [the fact that] these women hate themselves and hate that they’re not white women,” Whitlock says. “Why else would you put on some cheap wig, some horse's hair, over the top of your head to look like a white woman?”

"They're so full of jealousy and rage towards white women. Anybody that would hop on TV day after day with these ridiculous wigs on is telling you everything you need to know about their mentality as it relates to white women," he adds.

Reid then brought up the “marketability” of Caitlin Clark.

“This is a league that is largely, as you said, black women. It’s also largely LGBTQ. She’s a white, heterosexual woman. And so, if you’re trying to get white dads to go spend their money and buy season tickets, she seems like a marketing opportunity. How much of it is that?” Reid asks Hill.

“I don’t know why people find that to be controversial,” Hill answers, noting that while Clark is talented, “it helps that she’s white, straight, and from Iowa.”

“So, when you say that Caitlin Clark’s whiteness and the fact that she’s straight plays a role, underlining a role, in her popularity, that’s not a diss to Caitlin Clark. It’s just simply America,” she adds.

Again, Whitlock finds it interesting that while discussing Clark’s marketability due to the color of her skin, both Hill and Reid have altered their appearance to seem more white. Both of them have significantly lightened their hair to appear blonde.

“Here’s two black women, dressed as white women to be more marketable on TV. This is just facts,” Whitlock comments.

Joy Reid says 'Christian nationalists' waging a pro-life 'jihad' will impose national forced birth law in the name of God

MSNBC host Joy Reid promulgated a narrative that pro-life "Christian nationalists" are waging a jihad against abortion and are actively bidding to enact a national forced birth law.

On Thursday night, Reid retweeted a Washington Post article with the headline: "This Florida teacher married a woman. Now she’s not a teacher anymore."

The article was centered around teacher Nicolette Solomon, who was enraged by Florida's Parental Rights in Education legislation – which prohibits classroom instruction about sexual orientation or gender identity for students in kindergarten through third grade.

Near the end of the article, the reader finds out "Solomon handed in her letter of resignation" on Feb. 2. However, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis did not sign the Parental Rights in Education bill into law until March 28.

The 44th paragraph of the article revealed, "The final straw was when her supervisor implied she would face consequences for taking a week’s leave so she could get fertility treatments; she and Hayley were trying to have a baby. But the bigger problem was it no longer felt possible to be lesbian and a teacher in Florida."

An NBC News article published on April 1 did not mention the fertility treatment issue and stated, "Nicolette Solomon, 28, taught fourth grade in Miami-Dade County for more than four years. As HB 1557 passed through the Legislature, she quit. Solomon, a lesbian, said that after months of having taught virtually through the coronavirus pandemic, the law was 'the straw that broke the camel’s back.'"

Solomon told NBC News, “The law would erase me as an LGBTQ teacher. Nobody would be able to know, which then puts me in the closet, and I’m there seven hours a day, if not more, five days a week. I wouldn’t be able to be who I am.”

Reid weaponized the Washington Post article to push the unfounded conspiracy theory that if Roe v. Wadeis overturned, it will open the door to forbid same-sex marriage, abolish LGBTQ rights, and allow sweeping discrimination.

"They're not going to be satisfied with forced birth state by state," Reid wrote on Twitter. "They're going to go for a national forced birth law. And then they're coming for everything else. The SCOTUS ending 'right to privacy' puts it ALL ON THE TABLE: gay marriage, LGBTQ rights, anti-discrimination."

Reid described the Washington Post article about the teacher quitting her job as "brutal" and claimed, "This is the reality in Florida and who knows where else soon."

The progressive cable talk show host added a second tweet vilifying "Christian nationalists" and Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito – who penned the leaked initial draft opinion calling for Roe v. Wade to be overturned.

"Y'all keep comforting yourselves, believing Alito and the other Christian nationalists on the SCOTUS won't come for your communities," Reid ranted. "Making abortion illegal will satisfy them, right? ... Christian nationalists believe they are fighting a war for God. People in a jihad don't stop."

Earlier this month, leftist Reid lashed out at "white Christian nationalism" and the Republican Party.

"The goal of the Republican Party today, is it to seize control of every level of government, to lock out voices of color & LGBTQ voices except those who conform to their demand that history and education uplift white Christian dominion as the one true bedrock of America," Reid alleged.

"This Dominionism — this white Christian* nationalism — is cultish, sometimes violent, ugly and cruel," she seethed. "It has swallowed the Republican Party whole, it dominates the Supreme Court, and it’s rolling over our state legislatures, school boards, congress and governors mansions."

Reid again promoted the groundless belief that Republicans are coming to snatch away numerous rights from Americans because fascism is in the country.

"We’re all about to lose so many rights; so fast, most people won’t know what hit them, until it’s too late," Reid claimed. "Fascism isn’t a game, y’all. It’s real. And it’s in America, sometimes dressed as a kooky personality cult or carrying a confederate flag… and not enough people are fighting it."

Reid added, "And the first casualty will be women, who are about to find out what 'big government' really looks like, thanks to the Christian nationalist majority on the Supreme Court and the Republicans who are licking their chops at taking over the House and especially the Senate."

In April, Reid spouted that Republicans should be labeled as the "pro-rape, pro child marriage party,"

Facing backlash, MSNBC's Joy Reid concedes Muslim radicalization question was not the 'most artful'

Although she did not apologize, MSNBC's Joy Reid acknowledged that a question she posed to a panel on her show earlier this week was not asked in an "artful way" after she faced accusations of pushing Islamophobia.

MSNBC's Joy Reid compares President Trump, supporters to Muslim terrorists — and even those on the left are destroying her for Islamophobia

On "The ReidOut" on Tuesday, MSNBC's Joy Reid compared President Donald Trump and his supporters to violent Muslim terrorists.

Needless to say, the blowback was swift and thorough, and the clip is going viral on social media.

What are the details?

In head-scratching remarks during Tuesday's broadcast, Reid hosted Kenosha, Wisconsin, residents, and discussed the president, his supporters, and recent outbreaks of violence across the U.S.

"When leaders, let's say in the Muslim world, talk a lot of violent talk, and encourage their supporters to be willing to commit violence — including on their own bodies — in order to win against whoever they decide is the enemy, we in the U.S. media describe that as 'They are radicalizing those people.' Particularly when they're radicalizing young people. That's how we talk about the way Muslims act," she reasoned during the show.

It wasn't just conservatives taking Reid to task over the remarks.

Progressive Indian actress and model Sana Saeed added, "This is appalling. @JoyAnnReid first just throws out 'Muslim leaders' encouraging 'their followers' to 'use their bodies to inflict violence' (which leaders?). Then compares 'how Muslims act' to American white nationalist radicalization."

President Trump holds naturalization ceremony at GOP convention, and MSNBC is melting down over it

Critics of President Donald Trump pounced on the inclusion of a ceremony for citizenship naturalization on the second night of the Republican National Convention.

Progressive cable news channel MSNBC led the chorus against the ceremony when anchor Joy Reid asked NBC analyst Jacob Soboroff about the response on social media.

"Well, 'galling' is the word that I'm seeing being used, Joy, by immigration activists and lawyers online, that the administration, the Trump administration with some of the most restrictive harsh and cruel, in the words of a former administration official, a former ICE official to me, would use a naturalization ceremony for political purposes in this context," Soboroff responded.

"And it goes beyond that, that was a very special moment for those five people in the White House this evening or earlier today, but everyone should know, or people should know, that there are literally tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of people who are eligible and awaiting their own naturalization ceremonies," he added.

"And not only their own naturalization ceremonies," he continued, "but the ability to vote this November, and they are being prevented from doing so because the Trump administration refuses them to allow them to have those naturalization ceremonies remotely, via zoom, and they say it is not possible, they are uncomfortable with that."

Reid later said that she was most offended by the naturalization ceremony because President Trump made it about himself, specifically for politics.

"It's monarchical! It's the use of the monarchy!" said Reid.

She reiterated her point with a tweet.

"My mother was a naturalized citizen. Donald Trump using the ceremony that meant so much to her (in large part because she was excited to be able to vote) IN the White House, is really hard to watch," she tweeted.

"It's an abomination," she added, "in that this ceremony is NOT about worshiping a president."

Other critics took to social media to excoriate the president for holding the ceremony at the White House during the GOP convention.

"I like to think that I cannot be surprised by the depravity of these people, but that ceremony got me. It was honestly one of the lowest thing I've even seen in American politics," said Elie Mystal, a correspondent for The Nation.

"Dystopian. A racist xenophobe using a naturalization ceremony and the people's house as a campaign prop. So sickening," said former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe.

"[A] lot of white conservatives right now feeling pretty good about themselves for using people as props in a disingenuous naturalization ceremony, good for you guys," said Washington Post video editor Dave Jorgensen.

"That naturalization ceremony might be the most cynical stunt I've ever seen from an American politician," said Washington Post contributor Radley Balko.

"To see it co-opted in the service of a cheap political propaganda stunt makes me sick," said screenwriter Gary Whitta.

"Creepy beyond belief. The sight of Child-Separator-and-Trump-Boot-Licker-in-Chief, @DHS_Wolf alongside the white supremacist who is the current occupant of the White House at this political naturalization ceremony is a scene so perverse it actually hurts," said Rep. Veronica Escobar (D-Texas).
